Hey guys, i don't know if you are religious, or spiritual, but i ask that if you are, please say a prayer for my mom. She recently had her leg amputated due to poor circulation, and now she is in the hospital due to a possible stroke. I really worry about her, and i pray she is ok. It doesn't matter what faith, if any you are. Just please keep her in your thoughts, and prayers. Thanks

Im not really accepting it right now as well as i should, im just trying to keep occupied. Its just been bad news after bad news. She was having problems with her foot, and they ended up doing surgery to fix the circulation, but that failed, so they had to cut off her leg just below the knee. She stayed at my grandmoms for about 3 months since we have steps here, and she was closer to her doctor. She finnaly came home for good, and even went back to work yesterday, but i woke up today, and she was gone. I got a call from her in the hospital, and she said she had a small stroke, and they were doing all kinds of tests on her. So im really worried, and i tend to bottle up my emotions, which is never good, so im really not sure how i feel. Scared... thats all i really feel right now.
And thanks guys, I'm sure she will appreciate it, and i really appreciate it.

I am so sorry to hear this Viden. I don't think we always realise just how lost we can feel when our parents are ill, and I genuinely hope her health improves soon. She'll be in good hands, so just try to keep yourself well and hold on in there. My mother's health has been deteriorating recently so although it's not even close to the same extent I understand my friend. I don't pray often but I have said a prayer for her, and for you too.

Didn't get a chance to post in this earlier or even log in but this made me a little sad reading it. I hope she gets better Viden. I don't pray as much but I'll definitely keep her in my thoughts and hope she has the strength to carry on through this rough time as well as you. I'm sure most of us on TFF are hoping you stand strong and know that we're all here for you. TFF works like that oddly. Best of luck man.

Sorry to hear about that. I know how you feel; I felt the same way with my mother when she went through the same situation because of her high blood pressure. But till now she's alive and well, and I think she made it out `cause we prayed for her.

I will certainly update you guys, and let you know whats going on, you have all been so supportive. All i know is that she was admitted to the hospital, and they are doing a bunch of tests they did a (sonogram i think) to look at the arteries in her neck, and they said it looked (sounded) ok, the blood flow looked good. They have her on heparin to thin her blood out (even though she was already on blood thinners since she also has lupus, which puts her at high risk for blood clots) Its a shame i don't have a white mage to cast cure

Seizures can be caused by a variety of things, thats what makes the prognosis difficult. So don't necessarily be scared by a bunch of tests, there are just so many things to rule out "what it's not" before realizing "what it is" that's causing it.
Keep your head up, don't give up hope or faith, she'll be ok.

stroke, not seizure, lowl. She is on a lot of meds because of her lupus, but she has never had a problem. She recently started on Chantix for smoking, but her symptoms started before she went on it. In the long run its better for her to stop smoking, since it will help her circulation. I visited her today, and she seems to be doing ok. They had to take her off the heparin because when they pulled the IV out, it took about 45 mins for her to stop bleeding. She is in good spirits, and she's happy to hear that everyone is thinking about her. She is getting a few more tests done, but she is hoping they will let her go home Monday.

Well, good news. She got all of her tests finished today, and she got to come home. There are still some residual side effects of the stroke, but she says they seem to be getting better day by day. She still has trouble focusing, and she has a bit of double vision. She also has occasional ringing in her ears, and i noticed she will sometimes wink her one eye randomly without meaning to. She is in good spirits, but i must say I'm still worried. She says I'm babying her, but i just worry about her.
