So I finished that musical I was in this weekend. So this time, the pictures will be presented through another story. The actual story of Seussical the Musical.
We did Seussical, and I played Gertrude McFuzz. She has a big crush on Horton the elephant who doesn't notice her because he is too busy protecting Who. In Who, Jojo makes friends with Horton the elephant, even though Jojo is too small to see. Then Jojo's parents (the mayor and his wife) have Jojo join the army because his "thinks" cause trouble. Meanwhile, the Sour Kangaroo is after Horton because she thinks he's crazy. The Wickersham brothers help her, and steal the clover that Whoville is on. Gertrude thinks her tail is why Horton doesn't notice her. But then Mayzie and the bird girls tell Gertrude to take some pills to make her tail bigger, and she does. After the Wickershams have dropped the Who's clover into a huge clover patch, Horton goes to look for them while Gertrude calls out for him to notice her and her new tail. Still nothing. Then Mayzie gets Horton to sit on her egg. Then hunters capture Horton, and Gertrude can't help him because her tail is so long that she can't fly. Then Horton is sold into the circus. Mayzie is on palm beach, but she gets bored doing that too and goes to the circus. Then she tells Horton he can keep the egg. He vows to protect said egg, but still really wants to find Jojo and the Whos. Meanwhile, Jojo has deserted the army, and his parents think that he's dead. But the Cat gets him to follow his "hunches" home, and Jojo is reunited with his parents. Then Gertrude shows up again. It turns out, she went back to the doctor who gave her the pills, and she had him pluck out her tail. Then she could fly again, and she tells him about how she did all this stuff all for him. She adds that she found his clover too. Horton finally notices her, and the Whos are okay. But then the Sour Kangaroo and the Wickershams find Horton and Gertrude, and they put Horton on trial. They say that Horton is crazy, and that they're going to boil the clover. Jojo has to think of a way to make the Whos heard, so he comes up with a new word and yells it. Then everyone in the jungle hears the word, and they believe Horton. Even the Sour Kangaroo. Then the egg hatches. It 's an elephant bird. Horton asks Gertrude what he should do, because all he knows is the earth. Then Gertrude sings that she has wings, and that she can help him raise the baby elephant bird. And then Horton and Gertrde are together. The jungle is in harmony again, the Whos have been heard, and the Cat has had his fun. And then everyone sings together for one more song. The end.
And then we took our bows.
