    Yeah ive seen Parkour!!

an friend of mine does it!! Although he fails at it!!

It looks awsome when done by really Athletic people, some of the stuff they do is crazy!!

Me personally i couldn't do it because

    1) im out of Shape
    and
    2) i don't really like the idea of throwing myself off somthing in hopes of landing on the other side safetly and if i miss possibly break my legs!! : p

Maybe im just being soft though!! : p

I think it would be cool to do parkour, but I don't have very good reflexes or agility. Knowing my luck if I tried to do any of that stuff, I would probably break something in my body!

I think that it does look pretty awesome, and those runners need/have a lot of athleticism to do all that stuff. Not to mention nerves of steel! My goodness... I think I would piss myself before I would even attempt to do any of the stunts that they do...

I think the closest I'll ever come to doing any of that would be if I picked up and played Mirror's Edge.

Parkour doesn't have to be arty-farty. It's just finding the most efficient route from A to B.

    There was a program on the other day that covered it, but it wasn't MTV2. To tell you the truth, I didn't watch all of it, but I like parkour. It just annoys the hell out of me when kids go around saying they know it, and blah blah blah, and all they can do is a failed back-flip and a vault over a wall. >>;

Would be something I'd love to learn though.

My roommate has also been practicing it for some time. He practices jumping over a table in our back yard quite frequently, and does lots of other stuff. Recently, he's found out about a group that meets in our town, and has gone to those meetings a few times. He's always down on himself because he can't do it like the professionals, and we all get pissed at him because he's like the most fit guy in our group He is f'ing cut!

Yeah, parkour is cool, though. I've seen videos of it and stuff that my friend has shown me. He actually rented a movie starring one of the famous guys from France, I think. He had to run away from gangsters, or something. Don't recall what the movie was called. Anyhoo...

    Yeah, I've heard of it.

I used to be quite interested in it a while ago. It's a pretty cool sport.

This makes me think of free running, something that I've always wanted to try out. Parkour is also something I'd always wanted to try, since it could benefit the city dweller.

The best thing about parkour? Idiots getting messed up while doing it.

A friend of mine and I always talk about trying out parkour. He's a smoker and I'm out of shape. This will turn out well.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

Parkour is basically free running with some added stuff such as flips and a few other things...

My friend does this, but all I ever see from it are her lovely scrapes and bruises. She almost impaled herself on a tree branch once.
I'm not sure if the sport itself is about taking risks, but she should probably not take on more than she can ultimately come out of alive. Walking away unscathed is unlikely in that sport, since it seems to be a very adrenaline-fueled activity, but she just needs to suck less. Seriously she sucks. But she does it anyways. *Shrug*

I've sort of done it before. Climbed on some of the high-school buildings after midnight with some friends. But that's it; I wasn't as extreme as to jump from roof to roof. Not sure if you could consider what I did Parkour, but eh. Baby steps, right?

Haha well it seems like your baby steps attitude has saved from the same results as your friend. Hopefully she doesn't get too hurt, and no the sport isn't really about taking risks on purpose; careful practice and constant running of a certain course really helps things out.

Parkour is loads of fun if you're in good shape, but it's not something you should do to get in shape...okay, that makes sense in my head at least haha. I've been lucky enough to avoid injuries, as well as the NYPD who do not enjoy it as much as I do.

I took an interest in it after watching my OH play Mirror's Edge. I don't think I'm physically fit enough to ever be able to do it, but I love to watch the videos of other people doing it!
