I believe that ghosts can be real, but I don't believe that they're always visible to the average human. I also believe in that theory about how humans who have died only stay on because they have some 'unfinished business' in the real world, so they're unable to pass on until that thing is sorted out. I don't think any/every person who has ever died is still roaming around our world right now, I reckon they have afterlives in some other world, or reincarnate in this world.

I don't have any particlar reason for why believe in them, though. Just my opinion, I guess. I think it would be quite fun to see a ghost and then have to help that ghost out, like what they do in movies haha. Not that I ever will, but hey, a girl can dream lol.

I voted for the third option. In my opinion ghosts don't exist, neither those a soul and all of those things. So when you die you simply die, that's it: the end.
I'm very open minded though, and since it's a topic in which nobody can be sure of anything until ghosts come out and reveal themselves ending the mystery I'm open to all possibilities.

Yes, i do believe they are real. "Why?" you ask? Well, thats because i have seen them, felt them and been quite frightened of them.

When i was little - like 1-2 years old (so my mum has told me this story) - i hated to sleep in my cot, so i always stayed in my mum and dads bed. one night, i wouldn't stop crying, and my mum and dad tried everything to get me to sleep. then i stared up at the ceiling, and started to laugh and point at something that seemed to be drifting around the room. then i pointed over to the door, and said: "Gone!" Ghost? Yes, it was a ghost.

After my nan on my dads side died, me and my brother started to talk about her lots cos it really affected us, even at that young age. One day when my mum got back from work, me and my brother where at the window talking to someone outside the window. My mum asked us who we were talking to, and we both said: "Little Nan!". She then asked where she was, and i said: "She just flew over the church... sorry mum..."

I have come into possession of haunted things too. Me , my mum and my step-dad go to this big market - Covent Garden - and we bought this little Geisha doll thing... we thought it was kinda cute, cos it head wobbled when you pushed it. When we got it home, we put it on the mantle piece, and something about it didn't seem right. It didn't look happy - its facial expression seemed to have changed, lol! We thought it was just us, and in our head. But that evening, the picture next to it all of a sudden flew off the mantle piece and landed on the floor, with bits of glass flying everywhere - it missed my dog by inches! it couldn't have been a brieze or anything in the room - that picture had been up there months without falling down! The next night, a massive spider came into the house - and when i say massive, i mean MASSIVE!!! Then we all just started to get really bad luck. So in the end, we took it back to the market, and gave it back to the guy who sold it to us - my mum didn't want it anywhere near our house again, lol! i liked the company... oh well... hehe...

I have also witnessed a knife go skidding down the counter in my kitchen... i was the only one there, and there was no brieze...

lots more has happened, but maybe i'll put that over in my journal...

When I said that though I have a formed opinion about the topic but, still, I have an open mind I was refering to things like Unknown Entity's post. It's things like these that make me doubt and think that there is a slight possibility of them existing. With this I'm not saying I believe everything that's in the post, it's just that along with the possibility of him being lieing there is also the chance that it's true.

No, I do not believe in ghosts. I don't think I have ever believed in them, most people I know do but I think the idea is unrealistic in many ways. I would only believe it if I actually saw one but I have not as of yet and probably won't ever. People claim to see ghosts and you see 'pictures' of them but it all sounds fake to me. You never know, they could be around but I just don't see it. I guess I watched too much Scooby Doo as a kid. "There's no such things as g-g-ghosts!"

I have heard some ludacris stories though but God only knows if they are true or not, the whole topic doesn't really interest me any way. >< If they do exist well then okay, that's cool.. I think? I just don't believe it.

I'm supposed to believe in spirits of the dead, which are basically ghosts, since I'm Buddhist, but I kind of don't. I've never seen any. I'm not one of the people if my family that have ever had dreams of my dead relatives in their next lives. I have never seen any tangible evidence of ghosts, so I don't think they exist at the moment. They could, but I've seen no signs of their existence as of yet. If I ever see a ghost, I might change my mind. If I ever have a few dreams of my dead relatives, I might change my mind.

I'm not saying they don't exist at all, I'm just saying I don't believe in them for now. I don't know about other people, but I guess it depends on your religion...if you've got one at all and your past experiences. I just happen to be a bad Buddhist that hasn't seen much of life.

Well I didn't, until I actually saw them.

Point is, what you think they are. I mean, the human mind is a very imaginative thing. Many people, especially who go looking for it, let theirs go wild and their brains will make up half the stuff they "see". However, I've been in many situations where there just was no explanation. No trick of the light, no one in a white sheet, not something from the corner of my eye, not a dream, not tripping on something...

No, appartitions, lights, things that aren't natural. But there are a lot of things we don't know about. Creatures, phenomena. I have seen a sort of classic "ghost" before, but what it's purpose was, if it was sentient? I don't know. I think there's a possibility when a person dies, certain energies remain and linger on in the shape of something it knew. But if there are "ghosts" like in the movies, I'm skeptical about that.

There are also more sinister things out there...but I'm still iffy on that. I think a lot of that is just plain fear and imagination and myth. But I can't say for sure, because I have not experienced anything conclusive, nor will I know if I ever will.

There are so many mysterious things that happen - like knives just moving or dolls bringing bad luck. I remain to believe in the possibility of energies that flow through all things, mixing up shit or, in essence, inhabiting inanimate objects. It's mostly speculation, but that's my view on the matter.

I believe ghosts exist. But then I also believe a lot of people are crazy or so stressed or tired or something they just see stuff.

My beliefs are probably due to things I myself have seen that didn't really add up as well as documentaries and the like which have shown some pretty weird shit. Like this one place that actually was built on an Indian burial site. I don't really remember what it was that was happening but it was something really weird. I think wood warped in the floors or walls at certain times revealing body parts temporarily. Or something.

And yeah, I know a few people that are completely ****ed in the head who refuse to do anything about it for whatever reason...

I don't believe in ghosts or much else for that matter, all I get is a "Damn... that would be awesome" as far as life after death, continued conciousness after your earthly vessel is destroyed, I'm not a fan

    The Gargoyle
    SPOILER!!:

    The gargoyle sits, solemnly, alone
    That silent man of stone
Here, for his deeds he must atone

    Beaten eyes stare blankly
    Withered arms curved and wrinkly
    Bat-like wings spread fully

For once he was a man deceitful
His soul decored in black so hateful
From his despair grew pain most vengeful

With his death he was deserted
    Left condemned and desecrated
    Bound to form most understated

And now he is but a statue made of stone
    Sitting all alone

    Star Gaze
    SPOILER!!:
High in the sky, blinking down on us
    We all watch the stars
    Believing, as we do
That friends and lovers long since moved away are staring upwards too
Remembering us as we remember them
Smiling in the light of an unatainable star
And even if the star was snuffed out at that very moment
    We would never know
    We just keep smiling
And believe the star is true

    My TFF Family
(is laughably small because 'loner' turned out to be fairly accurate)
    Unknown-Entity - loner-kid's hilarious 'friend'
    Raider - my ginger brother

For me, its yes and no; don't worry I have an explanation behind my thinking. YES, ghosts do exist, but its not what I believe they are. A little bit of background information about me...I am a Christian, and thus I do believe that ghosts exist but they are not the "ghosts" that you might be led to believe. My belief is that ghosts are actually demons. The reason behind this is because in order for the devil to try to get at you, he has to make some kind of cast of doubt in your mind. The devil can and will use any kind of medium to draw you to him; ghosts and the belief of them is one particular example.

Now I have no doubt in my mind demons do exist, and although I've never had any first-hand experience with one, I know that many other people believe in demons as well. Besides, I think the link between demons and ghosts isn't that big of a stretch; many share the same "traits" witnessed by people who have had encounters with them. Personally, I'm quite suprised more people don't make the connection.

I've heard many stories of people encountering ghosts, some malicious, while others seemingly benign or even helpful. To any who may have a future encounter with one, I would say coming from my Christian viewpoint: NEVER trust a ghost. Many of them can probably be deceitful to you, and if you agree with my viewpoint (which I'm not saying you must or anything) then you should know that ghosts are demons and demons will try to harm you.

I have.. Strange beliefs when it comes to life and death.

The short version? Yes, I believe in them. I've seen them.

BUT I don't believe in them in the typical, ooky spooky, lights flickering kind of way..

This is what I've believed since I was very young -

I believe that there are planes of life, all existing together.. almost a 'parallel universe' type thing. No heaven, no hell, no life, no death. Just planes. When we 'die', we move to the next plane. Which is all on the same world, etc etc.

I believe that fair dinkum mediums [most are just shitting us. Seriously] are ones with a strong amount of psychic [for want of a better word] power, and those who can channel it. I believe that alot of actual 'ghost sightings' are people with this same power that are perhaps a little unstable and don't have the ability to control it, seeing people from other planes out of their will. We can't connect.. Just sometimes catch a glimpse. Or feel it. Whatever the person's strongest sense is.

Of course.. 99.9% of ghost sightings are just idiots that think the lights flickering is a result of spirits.. It's not. It's faulty electrical lines. And if I was a little ghostie, I wouldn't run around clicking the lights.
I've been on this site since 2006 woah

No until I would see one with my own eyes..
Then I would try and seduce it to have angry ghostly sex with me probably, if it was a woman that is!
That would be pretty amusing I suppose...
But yeah I don't believe in ghosts, people smoke too much pot nowadays and see shit, shroooms baby!

    Peace out
    Blargh?!?!

I believe in ghosts even thought I have never seen one. I've heard many stories from family friends and I have seen many videos to believe in ghosts. Now the real question that's bugging me is if they are evil or not. That's one I don't want know a true story about.
    This guy is cool...
