Old Arcade room

Hello,

Haven't been on here for awhile, when I first joined 8 years ago there was an Arcade part on this website with mini games.

What ever happened to them and when did it get removed?

Is there any way to still access these elsewhere?

I used to play them all the time and I was competing with rank 1 with most high scores, I remember my favourite used to be the WoW game where you had to connect ability icons.

I'm pretty sure that went with everything else when the forums had a huge overhaul about 2012-13. The thing I used to like was earning Gil to trade for weapon/armour icons to go under your avatar. I was all excited when I got a full set of bronze armour and some kind of crossbow haha.

I remember that. That was fun. Used to get so wound up when I lost a high score and bought so much stuff with the points. Think I was saving up for something. Don't remember what.

Those games were pretty fun and a good way to kill time, in the time before smartphones. I remember playing some of them while I was in college and then getting pissed that some of the high scores seemed so impossible.

Just so I could buy a mythril shield. Good times.

I also happen to miss activity and msn conversations with everyone. I'm old.

So you could actually play games in your browser, on the forums?

:| Goodness how many ways to play games do we need before we'll be satisfied. This reminds me of when Doom was getting ported to everything and anything, but in a different way, it's like games are everywhere now.

These were your typical flash based browser games, like pool, bowling, etc. Back in the day, if there was nothing to do, you could actually make a post, dick around playing arcade games for a little bit, and actually have a handful of replies.

Forums are a dying breed, dude. You gotta get dat social media if you want to have active conversations. Also Discord, probably. Dang, MSN. Let's date ourselves even further by talking about AIM or ICQ, how about it? LAWL.

I never played those arcade games. I just obsessed over what people on the forums were saying because I had anxiety issues.
