    Obsessed Fans

Obsessed Fans… truly one of the most remarkable phenomena’s known to mankind itself.
It never fails to scare me just how obsessed some people can get over actors/singers etc… What inspired me to go ahead and make a thread about this was when I was flicking through my cheap gossip magazine (yes I did sink so low that during my netless period of time I embarked upon the adventure of reading trash on famous peeps. ;3 Wha hoo to me!)
So what grabbed my attention was the article on the actor Robert Pattinson whom plays the beloved vampire Edward Cullen from the Twilight book series and franchise.
His obsessed fans have driven him to become a ‘Paranoid Wreck’ with their obsessive behaviour and crazy antics. If seen on the street they scream and chase him. Leave him notes like:

“I’m going to kill myself if you keep ignoring me!”

Seriously… do people think that these famous actors are going to pay attention to that? Or are they really going to accept a date with a girl/guy who says they will kill themselves or them…
It’s nice to have people to look up to… fancy etc… but more than likely these people who have reached the top – they’re just a dream. And by screaming after them like a rabid hyena or something isn’t going to make yourself look mildly attractive to them.

So what do you think about the crazed behaviour some people have toward those ‘famous idols’?

I think it is nice to be a dedicated fan myself – but seriously… keep it sane ;3

Of course this rule wouldn’t apply if Squall were a real man and not a bunch of pixels… <33333333 *Foams at the mouth*

    Following the path for truth...

    and ending the dream.

I think the newer breed's gotten worse.
I myself have been freaked out by those vampire fan girls who have shown interest in me solely as I'm nocturnal due to being a late night shifter with the pale skin and light sensitivity associated with being a night person. To make matters worse, both my teeth surrounding the middle four up top are fangs and this wouldn't be a problem except the fangirls are a little too young for my liking (why is it never the 18ish year olds?).
    Unlucky I guess.

In conclusion, **** vampires, **** fangirls/boys and werewolves are the shit. Especially pirate werewolves with ninja swords and friggin' lazer beams attached to their heads.

Related tidbit: The worst fanboys are the extreme fanboys of games like FFVII. Some of those people make me wish guns were legal for personal defence in Australia.

ugh, that kind of obsessive fan level irritates me. It's like they lose all sense and rationality when dealing with their fandom. Honestly i've never really understood fandom that much, I mean sure if you like their music/acting/dancing/etc then you'll probably want to know the other things that they've done, but why would you want to know their favourite colour or any other innane detail about their life. It's all just a little invasive. But what I find worse are the fans who think they have some kind of deeper understanding of their chosen celebrity because of all this rubbish and imagine up some deeper connection between them despite having never met. Thinking of themselves as the celebs dream companion, imagining up a whole host of stupidity based on their own denial

    The Gargoyle
    SPOILER!!:

    The gargoyle sits, solemnly, alone
    That silent man of stone
Here, for his deeds he must atone

    Beaten eyes stare blankly
    Withered arms curved and wrinkly
    Bat-like wings spread fully

For once he was a man deceitful
His soul decored in black so hateful
From his despair grew pain most vengeful

With his death he was deserted
    Left condemned and desecrated
    Bound to form most understated

And now he is but a statue made of stone
    Sitting all alone

    Star Gaze
    SPOILER!!:
High in the sky, blinking down on us
    We all watch the stars
    Believing, as we do
That friends and lovers long since moved away are staring upwards too
Remembering us as we remember them
Smiling in the light of an unatainable star
And even if the star was snuffed out at that very moment
    We would never know
    We just keep smiling
And believe the star is true

The funniest fans are those who contradict themselves- they claim to be obsessed and OMFGILUFFSIT about something which they know very little about. There was someone on my course like that about Japan. When I talked to her about it, I actually knew a hell of a lot more than she did (I myself have interest genrally in world cultures, so I do have base knowledge). It turned out her so-called love for Japan is pretty much an exaggeration on how she loves Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew and related Shoujo anime.

I do find obsessive fans creepy, especially those of a particular actor or musician. If I saw Matt Belamy (or anyone else whose music I really like) on the street, I think the last thing i'd do is run up to them screaming and crying. I have too much self-respect to act like that much of a tit! I really do feel sorry for people whose talents (and in some cases non-talents) get a gaggle of loonies after them, especially screechy little pubescent girls.

Not a story of an obsessed fan, more of a cheeky one: one of the members of Take That (I think his name is Howie) lives in my hometown and buys things from our family business. If theres an tour, my Uncle Chris (in his 40s) will try and talk him into giving him a VIP ticket! Although I don't care for their music, I can't help but feel sorry and embarassed for him!

There is great movie with Robert De Niro called "Fan", this movie best shows the gruesome side of those damn obsessed people. I never understood those kinda of people. They know everything about the person they're obsessed with, what do they eat, drink, what close do they wear and so on.
I mean that's really creepy, some weird shit. What are they trying to accomplish with that, it's not like the famous people care about them. I don't see why are they obsessed with famous people, they're also ordinarily people, what's the big deal.

In a way, I feel sorry for Robert Pattinson. I think he just wants a little bit of peace and nobodies' allowing that to happen. Twilight was just a job for him to do and now he's paying the price.

I find that whole vampiric thing to be a little bit sad. Just read some of the stuff these girls write about Twilight online. There are a couple of them who actually believe in vampires... you'd think they were five year olds, scared by the noise in the attic. One girl, who was apparently 13 years old even wrote a sexually explicit note about how she'd like to be abused by Robert Pattinson. I think that's absolutely disgusting.

I'm pretty obsessed with Silent Hill, although I don't do everything in my power to go to all of the events or anything. I might squeal and jump up and down and clap a lot if I ever had the chance, though.

The person in my avatar is me.

That's what happens when teenage girls read books where a girl automatically starts trying to kill herself when her boyfriend, with whom she shares no real bond, leaves her because he thinks he's going to start hurting her soon. Twilight is ****ED UP.

I don't mind crazy fans. I have a few Beatles tracks where the manic screaming girls drown out the actual music. There will always be stalkers. Everyone needs a hobby, after all.
