Obscure things your parents have said.

So me and my mother have a pretty open relationship when it comes to our conversations. It has always been this way and I feel comfortable talking to her about anything and everything.

The same could be said for the most part in concerns to my father. One day I hope that my kids have that they can come to me for anything also.

Ok now that the opener is out of the way. My mother and I were sitting in the garage this morning smoking and drinking coffee. This has become pretty much a ritual over the last few weeks. As per the norm, we were bull shitting when out of no where my mom (yes my MOTHER) informs me that I need to "go out and get some strange."

Normally I am not left speechless to often, this was one of those instances haha.

After a good chuckle at my expense the conversation returned to normal.

So basically and in cliffnote / tl:dr version of a few questions.

Whats the craziest thing your parent(s) have ever said?
    What was your response?
What was their reaction to you reaction?

Personally this comment didn't bother me, mom and I have a game where when people come over we intentionally make some of the conversations embarrassing to get a reaction and a laugh out of people.

(keep in mind that the questions above are general broad questions that give an idea of where I want this thread to go but the responses don't have to be limited to those few questions. )

My mother once told me where the condoms were in her room.

    What was your response?
    Pretty much:

What was their reaction to you reaction?

I could say something hilarious that my mother has said, which still grosses me out today. But it bwould be mean to post it on the net.

Re: Obscure things your parents have said.

My whole family says awkward stuff all the time. It's hard to remember a specific occurrences.

Although, a fairly recent outburst was at a restaurant with an open mic. Someone was performing and Dad and I were talking to a friend. My dad often wears earplugs because he has tinnitus (years of playing loud rock and roll will do that to you), so he could hear our conversation, but not really the person playing. So just as the music stopped (of course), my dad says (nice and loud), "Well you know, a blue whale's penis is eight feet long."

    Cool story, dad.

Oh, and when I was telling mom about this friend of mine I'd be staying a few days with in LA, her response was not what I was expecting. "Not gonna lie, he's covered in tattoos and he has a Harley."
"Really? You could ride cross country with him!"
    "None of that concerns you?"
"Well as long as he's a nice guy... If he wasn't a nice guy, then I'd be concerned."

But then my mom rode a Harley, so....
    Curious?

LOL I love this thread because everything my dad says is weird, and when half of your family is Filipino, even if they're not saying anything weird they still sound weird.

I'll have to think of the good ones and edit them in but some aren't going to make sense because I don't even get what my dad is saying sometimes. Most of the time they pop out when he's angry.

    EDIT:

    2) "You bet your bippy"

I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

Lol. Sometimes, I think my dad is the king of making people feel awkward. He has a very different sense of humor, but it tickles him embarrass the hell out of people....ESPECIALLY HIS KIDS.

The most prominent memory I have when this happened was when I was in 7th grade, and a boy at my school bought me a little stuffed reindeer for Christmas. I brought it home and showed my family, and he said "I think he bought it for you because he's HORNY."

Get it? Because reindeer have horns? Yeah, I didn't think it was funny either. :/

My mum told me she was pregnant about a year or so ago, becauase she thought it would be funny to see how I react. I called her irresponsible xD

I thin i went through several reactions before she burst out laughing, the horrible cow

AND she likes to make me squirm by announcing she has just had sex. So I threaten to put her in a home. Then she tells me I wouldnt dare, because who would baby sit for me

I was maybe six or seven and my Dad was reading the newspaper while I was eating a bowl of fruit loops at around nine in the morning when my Dad turned to my Mom who was pouring a cup of coffee and said

"They might make a movie about the life of that famous porn star Deep throat". My mother then turned, winked and said "I could play that role". I didn't pay any attention to this as a child but one day remembered it in class when I was 16 and began to laugh my ass off. Way to go Mom and Dad.

My dad is actually really funny but most of the time he can't crack his sick jokes because my mom gets all mad since shes all traditional and stuff. I can't remember anything in particular but one time we were in a hurry down the road when my dad made a comment about "coming like Bree Olson," and it caught me completely offguard

My mom has some really awkward funny moments too but a lot of it comes from accidental stuff. This past thanksgiving we had the whole family over at our house, and my mom meant to say "aunt jemima" (like the syrup) but she somehow said "aunt vagina". the whole table was pretty quiet for awhile. (everyone on the verge of rofling)

Though not my parent, my grandpa (rest in peace) had a funny comment that still sticks with me for whatever reason. When I was 9 I told him I had a girlfriend and he replied "well if she's not dutch then she's not much." Obviously he was kidding but it was so funny coming from him to someone my age at that time.

Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Even got a rePETEr (<---- like that ay? AYYYYY?) on the back burner.

Block: I do like the rePETEr except it kinda makes it sound like you're going to pork Pete. No homo.
