    Nicest Thing You've Done Recently

the title is kinda self explanatory...

We had a huge celebration last week, preparations were bit hectic to say the least. Among other issues huge quantity of meat we ordered arrived the night before with one "slight" problem, both pork and lamb arrived in one piece, it wasn't chopped at all despite the promise they made. My father tells me "look, I'll take care of this myself, you go and enjoy the match, I know you were looking forward to it for quite some time now". What really got me I knew he couldn't handle it all by himself, it was a two hour job at least, plus he was quite eager to see the match himself and I was kinda rude to him the entire day, it was really eating me. To my fathers surprise in the middle of the work I pop in with my little sisters shity laptop, I managed to find a decent internet conection and a rather shity stream of the match. Needless to say we didn't have much time for the game, but my father way beyond happy having me there to help and that background noise felt kinda nice.

I volunteered to hang around at the local hangout for airmen last night for 4 hours until it closed to make sure people didn't do anything stupid, and also to do whatever chores needed to be done there, ie vacuuming, taking out the recycling and garbage, etc. On a night, I might add, that I needed to study for a test the next day, heh. Also pointed out the trash bags in front of the building that made the place look trashy, volunteered to throw them away, and threw out some other garbage instead. Also also, I'm going to help set up an event tomorrow evening instead of driving to my girlfriend's house like I'd normally do on every second friday night. Anyhoo...

    This is not nice.

    This thread reminds me to do nice things more often. Only thing I can think of that's recent is that I took out some garbage. ^^;

I volunteer and teach at Homeschool Co-ops and a Private School. Earlier this week, I gave away herbs(Thyme and some Oregano), trees(plums and pears) and plants(kale, spinach) to those who can't afford them. I usually do this to people I know that need them and can't afford them, if I can't sell the stuff at the Farmer's Market. I don't really claim this as a good deed or nice as I would've much rather sold them for a profit. I also volunteer to teach because it feeds my ego a touch, which is always nice. But it is great when I get thanked by parents and kids, after class.

*edit* We have quite a few philanthropists at TFF. Nice.

for myself? told Crack-A-Lack over in TX to feck off for good and blocked her on FB.

For someone else? Moved to TX to help the Padres and ended up giving Crack-A-Lack a place to stay pretty much rent free.

Spent $500 dollars on my girlfriend for her birthday. Which is a lot of money considering we haven't even been together for a year. She just kept giving subtle hints of things she wanted, but didn't have money for. SO I kept having like the cashier hold the item and I would come back the next day and buy it. I didn't realize how much I spent until I looked at my bank account. I'm probably going to return a few of the smaller items and one big item just to save myself a little bit of money haha.

I don't know if this is considered a "nice" thing, but I've kept my mouth shut about 10 times in the past two days from freaking out on my boss. Normally I'd just argue until my tongue fell off, but he doesn't listen to reason and lives in his stupidity. Nothing I say will change that so.... I stopped.

    >.<;;;; Jay's spent a ton on me already and I've only bee here like... A month & a 1/2... Cam's spent money on me too, but he's kind of an alcoholic and he got deployed so he was like "Fuggit. Spend it alllllll..."

    EDIT:

That includes all the free tattoos I get.. hehehe..

On the other hand, I spend my day pretty much taking care of him - cooking 3 squares a day, laundry, cleaning, all that shit. I need to find a job, but if we're just gonna be moving in 4 or 5 months, there's no sense in looking here. We'll be moving over an hour away after he gets out of the Army & in school, so it'd just be a waste of gas & time.

Hm...I guess I could say it's that I've started making dinner for myself, my mom and stepfather on Sundays. It's especially nice for my mom because that's the day she takes her weekly meds and they usually make her feel terrible, so at least now she can relax a bit and not force herself to cook. Last week I made dessert too.

I try to do nice things for people when I can, it's just usually little things that they may not even notice, so...yeah. I kind of prefer it that way, like being a kindness ninja. And it keeps me endlessly entertained when I do things like sneak candy to my coworkers and see how long it takes them to notice. XD

I used to have to do a certain amount of community service per quarter fr high school ROTC. I usually got my house helping at a nearby veteran's home. Ended up making a few friends with some old dudes, and now I go down there semi regularly to play cards with em. There's a homeless older guy who hangs around there, has a few friends. Looks through the garbage a lot for food, kinda sad. Couple weeks ago when I saw him coming, I tossed a 20 in the trash for him to find. I could tell by the fact that he'd never asked any of his friends there for money or food that he wasn't the type to like relying on charity, so I figured it'd be better to leave it there for him to find rather than just offering him the money. Saw him later that day in the cafeteria with an actual hot meal, so he must have found it.

Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. I started to learn how to draw a little bit. I'm inspired to draw pictures of things that I like, and I started drawing pictures of mega man to begin with.

The other week I was helping a lady at the photo kiosk, she was doing pictures for her mother's wake. Her mom died on Mother's Day. =/ So while she was doing that I bought a card and later snuck it into her bag when I was ringing her out. Ninja level: pro. I had intended it to be anonymous (signed it from the store, not me) but of course the shift supervisor ratted me out. An awkward phone conversation followed when the lady called to thank me, which I was totally unprepared for. Bonus: when my other coworker figured out that's what the card was for, she almost started crying.

I did NOT get this lady fired from Piggly Wiggly, after all my anger and rage.

Jay's mom wired us money from his account in the Phillippines 'cuz he forgot his car payment was due to be taken out of his account, and we didn't realize we'd overspent last week.

We go to Piggly Wiggly to pick up the money, and he gives the lady his California driver's license/ID.. She told him it's fake 'cuz it's California with a TN address on it, when it's -actually- legit 'cuz of his Army orders or whatever. At first, I was like "Just show her your TN license, so she'll stop being a rude bitch." .... And then she said we could go somewhere else. When I asked to speak to a manager, she told me she -is- the manager.

I called another Piggly Wiggly store to get a corporate number and the guy told me that they're all privately owned stores and none of them are part of any kind of corporate whatever. So by then, I was too tired to argue and talk on the phone with people and just gave up.

Oh, and I helped this technologically retarded person bootleg Photoshop and some other things.
