I'm not sure how many ice hockey fans we have here, but the NHL playoffs started yesterday and will go on for the next month or so. Currently there are 16 teams competing for the Stanley Cup. I don't typically follow sports, but the team for my hometown (or close enough) made the playoffs this year, so I might follow it just to show some local pride. So who is everyone hoping to win?
Unfortunately only 15 poll options are allowed, so I combined the last two poll options, sorry! If perhaps a moderator could separate the last two teams and add a sixteenth option, that would be much appreciated.
Anyone who plays the Rangers!
Lets go Islanders!

I'm a philly fan, so seriously hoping they make it through the first round!

I am rooting for the Predators. Pekka Rinne is an amazing goalie and reminds me a lot of Patrick Roy. I hope that they do well.
Now just to have another team suck a lot so that they move to Wisconsin. This state needs an NHL team.

Devils all the way. Hopefully this time they can at least go deep. Last few playoff appearances have not been good. They have a strong team but so does the other representatives from the Atlantic division.
I could not believe that the Flyers were able to come back falling down 3-0. I was watching that game and it quickly got out of hand. Pens were unrelenting. With how hockey is now 3 goals is not as it once was, therefore there was slimmer of hope that the Flyers would get back in. Though I thought the Pens would keep on piling.

A lot of my friends are Rangers fans so they're my pick to win it all. My Avalanche really crapped the bed down the stretch and missed out on sneaking in as an 8 seed so I might as well root on New York.

So was anyone upset to see that Pittsburgh scored 10 goals in playoff game? I remember when 4 goals was a lot and most games were a struggle to score. This offensive nature does not suit.

I'm more upset by the horrible officiating. I thought that the hit on Alfredson in the Rags game wasn't worthy of a 3 game suspension, and the little scuffle including a high stick and an elbow to the head didn't get any penalty minutes. You can't have it both ways.
As for the Pens and Flyers, I can't even call that hockey. That's just a bunch of bitches and bullies having at it with each other... and somehow the puck winds up in the back of the net.
I also don't like the Devils, so I'm quite looking forward to another collapse by Brodour and Co. Another 2 collapses by them and the Rags would be phenomenal. Mostly because I don't think my heart could handle a Rags cup win after the Giants won the Super Bowl.

I can't wait for the Pens/Flyers series to be over. I am a fan of goaltending and defense, so to see scores like that in the playoffs is sicking to me. Congrats to Brodour on setting the record for most playoff shutouts, passing my favorite all-time, Patrick Roy. I hope Rinne and Preds can finish off the red Wings and move on.
