NFL 2012: Ochocinco got 86’d and Other Number Jokes

    Alternative Title:

NFL 2012: She wouldn’t Tebow me so I gave her the ole’ Marky Sanchez

TFF’s official NFL thread for the 2012 season is large and currently being charged for domestic assault. The last couple of years for NFL/sports threads in general have been pretty poor, so let’s try to change all of that. I’ll do my best to update this thread a couple times a week, putting up schedules and results and whatnot. Use this thread as general discussion throughout the 2012-2013 regular season.

    Current Storylines:

-The New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 to win Super Bowl XLVI. This is pretty darn similar to 2007, so let’s just say that this season was a re-run, and that your reigning champions are, in fact, the Green Bay Packers.

-The Indianapolis Colts “sucked for Luck” and other dopey catchphrases to gain the first pick in the NFL draft and grabbed Stanford quarterback Andrew luck. The Washington Redskins used their second pick to snag Baylor QB Robert Griffin III.

-Offseason moves landed Peyton Manning in Denver, Tim Tebow in New York, and Sean Payton in his favorite recliner for the entirety of the 2012 season.

-Aaron Rodgers: Cool guy, great player, master photobomber.

Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

Sigh, I have my season tix for the New York Tebows. It's going to either be the greatest year in the history of football, or absolutely abysmal. I'm kind of disappointed that the Tebows are more concerned with creating the media circus by bringing Tebow to the team. I really wished that they would have let my boy Marky Mark actually get a season to attempt the new system (because they finally got rid of Schottenheimer!!!), but no, they had to bring in Tebow to bring some media attention because the Giants on the Super Bowl last season.

I also hate the disparity between the offense and defense... again. We have a cornerback who called out the wide receivers and now has his own play package as a receiver. I like the name for it, but I think the concept is horrible. Throw to Cro lol

I'm very, very ambivalent about this team

If the Jets can effectively use a two quarterback scheme, they're going to be the team to beat in the AFC, and maybe Sparano's the guy to do it. He did wonders in Miami.

Oh, and a general note, I've updated the OP with the current standings, not including tonight's MNF.

Very excited about the Steelers this year. Hopefully it will be a good season. Some guys I work with have season tickets to the Bengals this year, and have offered to pay for me to go to a few games with them so I just might take em up on it.

Polk I see the Pack doing very well this year. I am no hater when it comes to them.

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!

Well, the defense can't possibly be as bad as it was last year and our offense should be as potent as ever, so hopefully we'll be alright.

    But I digress.

Preseason Week 3 means games almost officially sort of matter I guess.

Kinda wish I got the NFL Network, Indy at Washington might be an interesting game to watch. Luck versus RG3 for at least the first quarter or two is kind of an interesting match-up.

Well I guess I have to double post because you all are such jerks and are all so scared of the preseason boogie man.

    Week 1 Schedule

Tonight is officially the start of the regular season, as the Cowboys head to New York to take on the Giants. Should be a decent game, but San Fransisco at Green Bay is probably the game of the week, as a lot of analysts have both teams going deep into the postseason.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go do my Week One happy dance.

I can't stand the Giants and all of their bullshit superiority that comes from the fans. Sure they won the Super Bowl, but that doesn't make them a classier organization or have classier fans than anyone else.

    Go Cowboys!

And then I can't wait for the Jets and Bills to play on Sunday. I'll be there, getting toasty at 8am!

Somehow I didn't see this thread until today. Guess I was a bit distracted when it was first made though, so... Also, at least you got a few responses. My thread only got one last year, and it was loaf being a dork (Actually, guess Block eventually responded too I am told, but I was not around for that.)

Really, I will not be able to see half-to-two thirds of this season. Last season ended pretty shittily, and now I hate the Giants. Hope the Packers are doing cool stuff again this season by the time I'm back. Hope the defense picks it up a bit from last year. Anyhoo...

Week 1 Results and Highlights: Aaron Rodgers and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

    Highlights
    - San Fransisco beat Green Bay in what many feel is a preview of the NFC championship game, 30-22. The game was riddled by some bad refereeing on both sides, but at the end of the day, San Fransisco straight up outplayed Green Bay. And that's coming from a die hard Packer fan.

    - Robert Griffin III had a great opening game and led the Redskins to a win against the New Orleans Saints. Mark Sanchez (NY Jets), Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons), and Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos) also had great weeks.

    - Luck Sucked against the Chicago Bears in a 41-21 loss. After the game, his shoes were full of muck, so he went to the bar where he spent a buck. God these rhymes are a real lame duck.
