New Year's gaming

Already 1 am here and my first game for this year is Final Fantasy (haven't picked a specific one yet, but going to). Kinda waiting for Lightning Returns to come out soon, hopefully X/X-2 remake will make it here too. Afterwards it's just gonna be waiting for FF15, that's gonna be one long wait.
How about you guys?

I have several new games from which to choose, but I cannot break a tradition I started not too long ago. My first game of the new year shall be like the last four first games of the new year: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

I always delete every save file I have of games on New Year's Eve, that way everything starts fresh with the new year. Then, I usually can never choose which one I play first when the New Year starts, so I end up letting a Random Number Generator choose for me.

I hope it chooses something I like.

I just finished a few hours of various drinking games, spanning the bridge from 2013 to 2014. As far as videogames go, my first game of 2014 will be FFXIV... but in the morning, definitely not tonight.

The first game I played of 2014 was Madden 25, followed by CoD Ghosts, Forza, and now I'm about to dip into some Zelda.
No traditions, just continuing gameplay of what I got for Xmas.

The game I am working on completing for this year is Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- for PS2. My first game of 2014 was Mega Man X2 (man that was a great sequel!). Romancing SaGa is going to take me a good while since the game is super expansive with a lot of job class choices, magic, weapons, and the game has 8 different characters with each of their own storyline and their story branches out depending on what decisions you make in the game.

The first game I played in the new year was tetris, I guess, if that counts. Other than that, I got the first Walking Dead game which I'll probably start next week if I have time. I've been informed that it's going to make me cry? Gotta be excited about that.

Also, in March, FFX HD remaster! =D Well disappointed the date got pushed back, but still excited. Not sure how I'm feeling about these 30 minute audio drama translation and possible X-3 rumours, though.

I find it interesting that Square is even thinking about an X-3 game, if it were to happen, I hope it will be something worth playing because X-2 really wasn't that fun.

Well it was more the scenario writer that said he had interest if the demand was there. Square's no doubt interested in money, but it seemed more like a personal interest by one developer rather than the studio wanting to do it. That was my take away from the article at least. I'd be interested to see what they'd try, but I'm fine with where the game finished. I want XV and XVI and XVII over a X-3, as much as I love FFX and FFX-2.

Technically, the first game I played this year was Pokémon Black 2. I was wanting to play something while getting comfortable enough to go to sleep, and since I hadn't played it yet despite having it for so long, I figured I'd give it a try. I have played a whole ten minutes of it.

But then when I woke up, I let the random number generator choose a game for me to play, and it chose Spyro the Dragon (lucky number 291). And I have already finished it.

I was away from home on new years eve/day so the first game I played this year was Dissidia Final Fantasy 012. Just beat the main story with Cloud, Tidus, Zidane, Bartz and Cecil as my party, so now I'm going to train up 5 other guys (Golbez, Gabranth, Yuna, Kain and Gilgamesh) to around level 50 and do the bonus mission.

Other than that I've been playing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and Final Fantasy XIII on my new 12 gig ps3 (which has already filled up ). Looking into getting Skyrim and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 once a larger hard-drive has been sorted out.

Grab yourself a laptop-sized hard drive and get the firmware off of the PlayStation website. You can turn any sized hard drive into a PlayStation drive by following the directions they've got posted online.

I recommend a Western Digital or Corsair drive.

I just picked up Payday 2, and have been playing the shit out of it. Also started playing Skyrim again. Haven't really bought any super new games.

I've been on Bravely Default and Assassin's Creed III the last few days.

Sad to say I didn't go into the New Year playing a game - I was watching Breaking Bad. Last game of 2013 was DC Universe on PS4 though!

I'm almost finished with Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion for the PS3, and then I will start FF XIII for the first time! I will finally realize what all of this Lightning talk is about! Ah! Or...I could check out Resonance Of Fate...

Back on the PS2, I'm playing Drakengard 2, which is kinda boring so far. Nowe is such a girly guy, I despise his hair and I could swear he was voiced by Daniel Radcliffe. what happened to all the real men?

Further back on the Super Nintendo, I'm still on Breath of Fire. How on earth am I expected to cure a town of zombies?

The first game I played this year was Final Fantasy XIV and I will most probably play only Final Fantasy this year. It will take time until I will have finished all FF-games coming out this year
