Lost Treasures *Ensue the making of pirate noises*

So, I'm very slowly tiidying my room. I sort out a part of it every once a while (yeah, I'm doing it that slowly) and yesterday I decide to prune my CD collection. ':Lo and behold, I find the first CD I ever bought - 'The Simpsons Sing the Blues', complete with some absolutely classic Simpsons songs - 'Do The Bartman', 'Deep Deep Trouble' and 'Look at all those Idiots' (None of which are sung in the show, all only on CD). I used to love this CD, and then I just sort of forgot about it. Now I listen to this CD not only for the music, but also now for the serious nostalgia factor I associate with it. Really brings me back to when I boughjt it, and also back to when I was actually addicted to the Simpsons.

Have you ever had any moments such as this? A moment of finding some item you almost forgot you had, which beyond it's intended function, also now has memories associated with it?

    Back. For a while. Maybe.

For me it's mostly SNES carts and a few items given to me by the great people I knew that I don't really see nowadays. And it happens very often as I have a lot of treasure hidden amongst the crap.

Oh and when I finally found my copy of DK64 again. Arrrrr...
That was a moment of pure bliss...

Everytime I play Tomb Raider I get the feeling of nostalgia... It was the first game I EVER played! I found it a little while ago in a box under my bed, along with other games such as Skullmonkeys, Duke Nukem, Harry Potter (1%2), Rugrats, Wild 9 and Dino Crisis! Aye, that to me was a great treasure!

Another thing I found was my collection of Goosbumps books! Yeah, I was a lover of the TV programmes, and once I saw the books, I had to get them! Most I picked up cheap too from book fairs, and at boot sales when I went on "holiday" to my nans caravan... A little too kiddy for me now - they wouldn't scare me in the same ways they did when I was little, but I still like reading them!

Does money in an old forgotten wallet count? probably not. Regardless for me it's usually games more specifically gameboy and advance games because they bring back memories of going camping every year wit Adrew and Infiniterealms. Plus I lose them all the time and some of them are still fun to play

    The Gargoyle
    SPOILER!!:

    The gargoyle sits, solemnly, alone
    That silent man of stone
Here, for his deeds he must atone

    Beaten eyes stare blankly
    Withered arms curved and wrinkly
    Bat-like wings spread fully

For once he was a man deceitful
His soul decored in black so hateful
From his despair grew pain most vengeful

With his death he was deserted
    Left condemned and desecrated
    Bound to form most understated

And now he is but a statue made of stone
    Sitting all alone

    Star Gaze
    SPOILER!!:
High in the sky, blinking down on us
    We all watch the stars
    Believing, as we do
That friends and lovers long since moved away are staring upwards too
Remembering us as we remember them
Smiling in the light of an unatainable star
And even if the star was snuffed out at that very moment
    We would never know
    We just keep smiling
And believe the star is true

I have a friendship bracelet charm, which is actually now broken, that reminds me of my old best friend Maria. It was only a cheap little thing, but still worth keeping. She moved to Russia in 2006, and it sucked balls. I really miss her. She was was the one who taught me how to say bitch in Russian.

So yeah. Whenever I see the bracelet charm, or see a Russian person on the TV, I think of Maria.

Arrrrr me mateys! I think I posted a similar topic to this last year after finding my old Power Rangers poster magazine which had one of those scenery things which you stick the free stickers too. That is still the most amazing thing from my past that I had randomly found, and odly enough it was in my magazine box under some 1990s Top of The Pops and Smash Hits magazines, which was under a couple of 2000-2001 Kerrang issues, under some issues of the NME. The main reason I was so enthrilled by it is because it was the original Mighty Morphing Power Rangers and was from when I was about 5 years old, so it was 12-13 years old, still in tact and I actually had memories of it! Seriously... early childhood memories are sparse in my head!

Other treasures i've found were my old Simpsons toys from around a similar time, which I played with constantly and two compiliation CDs, one from 1994 and one from 1996. Both have some classic treasures of songs on them- anthems and guilty childhood pleasures!

When I start to play old games that I haven't played in quite some time, I start to get this nostalgia-type of feeling.

I know I've had more with quite a few items, but I just can't seem to remember any of them except for the video games, and the African Thumb Piano I used to have (do I still have that thing, or... I can't remember). Good times. Good times. Reminiscing is always nice. I think I'll go look through some old stuff tomorrow and play with the stuff I find.

I randomly found my Sega Genesis in my grandmas attic the other week. I brought it home and enjoyed the heck out of Toejam and Earl 2 and the Sonic games. Despite the fact that I have every (good; read: nothing after 1996) Sonic compilation known to the Gamecube, nothing beats playing them on the Genesis. That, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2: Turbo. Gooood times.

Like Joe, I also love finding old cds. I have a veritable ton of them under my bed, in a case. I should go through them and see which ones I deem itunes worthy.

Oh yeah! I just love when that happens. When I actually tidy up my room every three years (don't think I'm making a joke), I find all sorts of nifty things. Last time I did this, I found things from my old classes, toys that I remember playing with as a little kid, books I learned to read with, socks I had been looking for for ages, and all sorts of things that would be nearly impossible to list. When you clean up your room and go through everything you have, your brain just likes to pull up all the memories that match with the object you're holding in your hands at that moment. There are some things that stuck out way more than the others, so I'll list them here for the heck of it.

The greatest treasure I found while cleaning a few years ago was my tennis racket. If I hadn't found it, I wouldn't be such a freak for it now. I remembered playing all those years ago with I was in second or third grade and remembered how fun it was playing, which is a really good thing.

I found my brother's old Megazord action figure thing! Not only that, but these two red and green ranger figures that had heads that switched between helmet and non-helmet mode. I actually played with them for about half an hour.

A twenty dollar bill- it was money. I was happy, and went out later to buy a six inch sub. ^^ Happy belly.

One time I found the skeleton of my hamster that disappeared one day in the back of my closet. That brought back some good old memories.

Wow, talk about morbid. Are you serious, because that would kind of scare the crap out of me. Hamsters are only cute when they're alive or in a cartoon..

Stop that. I think the weird creepy thing you've got going on is fun, but don't be a spammer. Please.

I wasn't really prepared to answer this topic, but while I'm here, I'll mention something I rediscovered the other day while I was looking through my old dresser. I had a "coin collection" when I was little that mainly consisted of coins from a certain year, those drummer guy quarters, a couple Hebrew coins my art teacher gave me, and two silver coins. It was nice to see them again. Oh, and I found a binder full of old drawings. Ooh.
    Curious?

I found a book of Pokemon pictures the other day, and I remember how I collected them... It was an awesome book, and I decided to keepm it, for the sake for remembering the good old days.

I also found a pair of my childhood glasses, which... was weird, but fair enough. I can't see shit out of them now.

And I found letters from old Penpals who hates me because I progressed to the Internet when they stuck to snailmail. Eventually they'll get over traditionalist writing methods and realise I was right. BWAHAHAHA.
