I don't really mind if monkeys are fat or if they're so large that they're now considered apes. I just prefer my monkeys to go fast... and fly.
But mostly go fast.
Are they monkeys still, or are they apes?
I mean... that monkey makes most apes look tiny... look at that third row of fat.

Homer's helper monkey escaped via the dimensional vortex thing seen in that one Treehouse of Horror episode!

LOL That monkey is so fat! But I still find it to be cute.
I still think it's a monkey, it's just an obese monkey who needs to stay the heck away from McDonalds.
My favorite monkey has always been Rafiki from the Lion King because he bashes people over the head.
That's it. Monkeys are really trying too hard to be like people now. They've dressed like us, have opposable thumbs, and now they're getting fat like us. I would say that they're trying to become our overlords or something, but at this rate, those monkeys will be too fat and lazy to even try. I say keep stuffing the McDonald's down their throats so we can keep them in check easier.
I don't have a favorite monkey. Most monkeys that I'm aware of have just been more of a nuisance. Take Curious George. Yeah, the title says he's just "curious", but I think he's more annoying, especially for the Man in the Yellow Hat.

It's difficult to determine at what size a monkey becomes an ape. Is it King Kong size, gorilla size, chimp size? I mean, that douche bag human called Cornelius and Zira "monkeys," and Zira got all bent out of shape (just like a woman.) So obviously human-sized primates who can do arithmetic and speak perfect English are apes. But outside of the Planet of the Apes, I would say that all primates are monkeys, considering that, although some may be able to perform arithmetic, I'm pretty sure they can't talk. Maybe they can to a schizophrenic, or to a Vietcong, but I don't think that counts.
Well, apparently a monkey can't be an ape, since being an obese monkey isn't what makes an ape an ape, small differences but they're there. Google magic.

Mischievous Monkey's. <3
It's still a monkey. If I was a zoo keeper, and a monkey got that fat, I'd be worried and would: 1) Call a vet. 2) Change it's food. 3) Rethink my career choice.
