So you know it. What's something that just irritates you? Try to be nice, and try not to aim any anger at a specific group.

I'll start. What really grinds my gears (had to say it) are certain horror movies. I mean, I'm the edge of my seat here, and the camera slowly zooms in on an empty space as it plays suspenseful music. Then, a hand grabs the person from behind and it turns out to be one of the good guys. Really? Horror movies aren't even my cup of tea, but when one intrigues me enough they pull this stunt every time. It's not "scary", it just ends up being annoying. And another thing. When a creature depends on the dark to attack, it just shows weakness. How do I know what's killing somebody is scary when I don't even know what it is? For all I know, it could just be a carnivore in the animal kingdom like a tiger or a lion. I prefer to see it in the open daylight, which could be it saying "What are you going to do? I'm not afraid of you, buddy!"

Perhaps people have different tastes in horror, but cheap tricks in general annoy me. Tell me guys, what really grinds your gears?

Anyway "You know what realy grinds my gears?" The kids who cycle home after school. Im driving home and there's at least four of them biking across my side of the street going at walking pace. They dont even move aside as i come up behind them. Seriously kiddies im in a car, who's gonna win? One day someones gonna get hurt or killed and it'l be the person whos driving who gets the blame.

Im not attacking all the cyclists, just the ones from my highschool.

I don't like people who have to be a downer to everyone else, who are constantly accentuating the negative, who go out of their way to try to make me feel bad about myself. I also don't like extreme arrogance or cockiness. I also don't want my ear talked off. If you're a nice enough person, I will deal, but if you're either a little bit of a dick or a little bit arrogant, and also stupid, you will wear on me quickly. I don't like getting yelled and sworn at. That is a good way to get me to stay away from you if I can. So yeah; if you seem angry a lot, I will be slow to warm up to you.

I try to be patient and understanding with most people, though. Anything that anyone does might be a result of a bad day or judgment call at that moment. I also think that it's probably important to look at character flaws as the problem, and not the person him or herself, although if I said I always did that, I'd probably be lying. Anyhoo...

I don't like people with green eyes. The standard for eye color is brown, but if not brown, then at least be hazel or blue. How arrogant does somebody have to be to have green eyes? Green is the color of the ground, and do you know what goes on the ground? Pure bullshit.

I also really hate giant slugs that attempt to kill you in your sleep. I've woken up on several occasions with a giant slug standing over me, holding a sharp object, usually a knife, to my throat. Those things are thugs, and thugs are pure bullshit.

Another thing that I cannot stand is potassium cyanide. More specifically, I hate having potassium cyanide mixed in with my drink, because I really hate the effects of cyanide poisoning, mostly because in a high enough dose, it's extremely lethal. More generally, what really grinds my gears is being poisoned by any means.

You wanna know what grinds my gears? People who leave attention seeking statuses, and when they actually get the attention they crave so much, they say "don't worry" or "I'll inbox you". Imagine the rejection when you say "What's up?" and they don't inbox you! It's like... these people are happy to tell the world they're crying in bed, but they won't tell you why unless it's in private.

Twitter is just as bad, and I've been sucked into that loop hole before. I don't want to see someone else's thoughts and opinions laid bare 24/7. You might as well be watching a porno of their life. Online journals are a different story - they're journals and meant to be personal. But a Twitter account with hundreds and thousands of followers; do people really need to know what your %^&"£$# looks like after $3*"£, huh?

You wanna know what else grinds my gears? ****ing spongers - the people who rely on other people to pay and/or work their way for them without lifting a finger. Seriously. If you want something, you work for it. Just because someone else can afford to buy something for you, doesn't mean they should.

You wanna know what else grinds my gears? Glitched trophies on PSN. You work hard getting all the others as part of your lame evening challenge, and BOOM. A trophy you cannot get because someone didn't code it right.

I know this is going to make me sound like a hypocrite, but I hate people on facebook that complain and get angry about what people post and then post their anger, but make it so generalized you can't really confront them. Like the "I hate people who post about their relationships", "I hate people who post how atheist they are". It's like...if you don't care what people say than GTFO their page. Because I just so happen to hate people who use facebook to do nothing but complain about facebook. Get over it ! It's a website ! I really hate cyclists who decide that they don't have to follow traffic rules. If you want to ride in the street, you have to follow the same rules as people in cars. This applies to red lights, stop signs and giving pedestrians the right of way... and using bike lanes instead of weaving in and out of traffic, where it's hard as **** to see them.

You know what really grinds my gears?

People who ask to try a video game of mine because they say they are interested only to skip all the scenes then have me tell them were to go and how to do it. One guy I know has pulled this on me twice once with Metal Gear Solid and again with FF7. And I never fell into that trap again despite him asking. Seriously though if your interested in the game pay attention, if not I'm not gonna walk you through every baby step.

Facebook and now twitter too. Seriously people be less vain. I have proudly never gotten a facebook despite so many people bothering me to. If you have something to say to me tell me in person or at least a direct msn conversation, if we are actually friends we will talk. No I don't care that you have 300 "friends" on facebook because I know that you really only have 3.

Also people who use foreign names/words for English translated things. As examples; pokemon names or even people who get all technical and call Aeris, Aerith. If you're on an English site use the English names. Even all the "new" translations for characters in games like FFT or FF6. Look at the whole Shadow page on Final Fantasy wiki and there is no clear explanation that it is the Striker that is needed to bet in the Colosseum for 2 out of the 3 translations not the itchigeki crap-thing.

I'm gonna agree with Andrew on this one. I hate the fact that people who are confident are often labelled as cocky or arrogant. There's a difference between believing in yourself and thinking that your shit doesn't stink. Extreme confidence is cockiness, and that's not cool.

Also, I'm all for people having self esteem, but I hate it when people are overly confident, or talk themselves up a lot, and then suck. This happens in sports a lot, when kids talk shit or say how good they were "back in high school", get picked first and then just shit the bed.
