    I'll name you "Accident"

    Do you like kids?
Do you want to have kids?
If you had one (accidentally or planned) what would you name it?

    :3

As for myself, I don't really like small kids (nor want kids of my own), they require too much care and attention, like a dog, and I don't even want one of the latter. But in all fairness, some can be cute and even funny ... Now if I did have a kid of my own, I'd let the mother name it, otherwise I'd name it something like ... Seth or something like that?

I'm not sure my insurance covers that kind of car accident. I might need to check eventually.

I'm going to name my son William Edward Rice, V, whether he's an accident or not. Preferably not.

I like Irene for a girl's name. Or Serah. Not sure.

If I did have an accidental child, I'd raise them as best as I could, but I know I'm going to make a much better parent later on than now, so I try to avoid that issue lol

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

I don't mind kids, but I rarely have patience for them. Screaming, squealing, snot bubbles and mysterious sticky surfaces... ew. It's not all kids though, and I know many very well behaved ones.

As for having them myself one day, of course! Just not any time soon. There's things I want to do yet with my life, and I want a better job. I don't want to bring a child into the world if all I want to do is travel, things that could endanger my life, and/or if I'm still in a low-paid, low hour, consistently unreliable job. It's selfish.

Also, I don't want more than two children. Maybe not even two, but I definitely want to bring at least one life into the world. Someone who I can teach and watch develop and grow into someone who'll hopefully make a difference. Someone who'll be a better person than myself.

I love the names Vincent and Alistair for a boy, and Evangeline and Kahlan for a girl. My first born boy will be called Alistair, and my first born daughter Kahlan.

I definitely want kids some day.best Now would not be the best time, but definitely some day. Hopefully before I'm 40, so I'm not 60 by the time they're grown up. Need to have energy still when they happen.

Accidental child? That would be pretty surprising, unless I was married at the time. But if that happened somehow, the child would be taken care of to the best of my abilities.

Names I like: Uzzi, Gad, Gabriel, Ezra, Valentine, Aaron for boys; Krystal, Darla, Fiona, Tamera, Raliyn for girls. And I am going to have THAT MANY KIDS. Anyhoo...

I think kids are awesome! The only time I'm not fond of them is when I have to take on a authoritative persona. It's pretty difficult to get them on task while also keeping your cool. I don't want kids for a while. At least until I do most of the things I want to do.

I'd prefer to have one daughter named Michelle. I've always liked that name. Having two kids would be a headache just like having the two dogs I'm taking care of now!

No. I don't want kids. Ever. God I just get nauseous when I glance at my pregnant sister. My 'kids' will be dogs. Two or three. But in the very, VERY far off chance I do decide to have a couple, Aura, Pearl, Isis, Jewel, Luca, Avery, Ivory, Emerald, Coral and Wynter are on my list for females..so far. I love the names Dante, Nero, Elazul, Edge, Lucius, Serge, Night, Hiro, Leon and Kira for my boys. I hate common names so I like mine to be unique n different but still be able to roll off the tongue easy. And Yes most of the guys names are from my fave games. Cause they're cool.

EDIT:This sums up how I feel

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

I definitely want kids. Four of them, to be precise.
I even already plan that the first one will probably be an accident - you don't know what'll happen...
Actually, I also plan to have those kids in about 3-4 years time.... I don't want to be over 30 when I get my first child. I want to be a young mother, not one who's already retired when their kids finally turn 18.

But I wouldn't want to find names just yet. Mostly because it'll be my (future) husband and me who will be the ones to choose. Not me alone. ^^

I want one child at first. A girl. Named Gretchen. (aww feckin love that name!) Then when shes around 13 or 14, another child will come, a boy, named John most likely.

I like kids when they're young and cute, but dislike them when they reach that in between age of 10 -13 where they look all awkward and ugly and their bodies are disproportional, and they have nothing interesting or cute to say. I only really begin to like them again when they turn 16 especially the girls

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

I like kids. That's why I've had a bunch of them. I also like women, which is why I've had a bunch of kids with a bunch of different women.

Lets see, I had Kyle and Alison with my first wife, Maggie. My daughter Kim I had with a dancer named Roxanne. Then Scott and Kathryn I had with Jacelyn, the stewardess I used to sleep with. Then I had my daughter Francesca Ruth, with Frances Fisher, the actress. And finally, my favorite child, Morgan, which I've had with my favorite wife, Dina.

However, if I were ever to impregnate another woman, I'd probably name my kid John or something. I'm 82. I'm not going to remember complex names, so I'd try to keep it as simple as possible.

Oh yeah, I also have a daughter named Lesly. I completely forgot about her. I forget who her mother is though. It's one of the women I named. Probably.

I plan on having kids eventually, although I think I'll leave my future wife with naming them. I was never good with names, not even when it comes to naming video game characters, the best I could come with are...

    boy names: Henry, Alen, Xavier

    girl names: Sonya, Annya

not really names we Croatians use often or at all, so yea...

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

I do like kids. Sometimes they get on my nerves, like at annoying ages. But for the most part I like them and I can't wait to be a mum. (Well, I can wait, and I will wait, but you know what I mean.) My little brother is almost five and he's just brilliant. The stuff he comes out with is so funny.

Ideally, I'd like to have two kids and especially a daughter. Though I honestly think if I found the right person, I'd have more kids if they also wanted more. But I'd be satisfied even with just one.

The girl name I've been liking the most for a while now is Saoirse, and I also like Leda and Belle. I like Joshua, Matthew and Ethan for a boy. But obviously me and my partner would have to agree on a name we both like lol.

EDIT: I forgot to mention Eira for a girl. It's one of the few Welsh names I like. It means "snow" and it can be pronounced either "ay-ra" or "ira". I likey likey.

You talking about Simon Belmont or James K. Polk the U.S. president?

Kids are great. Definitly want some one day and am glad I haven't had any yet by accident. I totally agree that there are those awkward years I am not looking forward to.
For girls names I like: Desiree, Ginger, ...Evie. I haven't put a ton of thought into these.

I don't really ever want to have kids. I can be good with kids but it doesn't mean I want them. And I'm far too selfish as a person to be able to give them the time or work they need.

I'd really only want them to name it after awesome characters from games, music, or movies. So Sub ZerO'Neill will only remain a dream.

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

I do want kids, one day. But I am definitely not a kids person at this point. I used to have a whole list of names in high school, but now I'm not really sure what I'd call my kids. I'd like to have a girl and a boy. But it'd be good for it to be a joint decision between myself and my future baby daddy. It'd be good for both of us to like and be able to pronounce the names of our children.

Girl names.. Claire (so I can call her Claire Bear). Ariana, Adrienne or Adrianna. Not really sure though, I could change my mind.

Boy names.. Matt has always been a favourite of mine for some reason. I can't really think of any other boy names right now. I'll have to think about it.

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

I have 2 kids. One boy one girl, and I am happy with just though. They both were accidents. Both failed birth control. Still I'm a happy mom.

I personally can't stand other peoples kids. There are maybe 2 other kids (my friends kids) that I can tolerate, but that's only because she and I have the same parenting methods. We run a strict home so we rarely have to deal with the sticky fingers, runny noses, and bad behavior. Now I'm not saying my kids are perfect, but I've seen mom who let their kids scream in stores, get in your face, interrupt people, run around like idiots in the waiting rooms. I just can't stand kids that aren't raised properly. The words "No" from my kids don't exist in my house. You do it or you suffer consequences. I do not sugar coat things or baby my kids. Then again I was raised that way myself.

In my family if you didn't eat dinner you had it for breakfast and went to bed hungry. You played outside all day. There was little adult interaction. If you did something dumb you got the belt. Bed time was 9pm sharp til you moved out. No sleep overs, no visiting friends. I had no room to make mistakes. No calls after 8pm, If I didnt eat my vegetables I was FORCED to eat nothing but vegetables. Complaining only made things worse. I am not as strict with my kids, but some things I won't budge on. You don't waste food in my house. You never interrupt and adult in my house. Chores are an everyday thing from the time they can pick up toys and place them in a box. When I say sit.....you sit. It comes in handy when they go out with me in public. Yes ma'am no ma'am please and thank you.

I think if I had another child I would want another boy. I like playing rough with my kids. We wrestle a lot. I would name him Thomas after my husband. If I had a girl it would be Lillianna. No special thing there....I just like the name.

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

At some point I'd like to have kids. Well, not actually birthing them, because I don't have the equipment for it, but you know what I mean.

Not really sure what I'd name them. I know one thing is for sure, they would have relatively normal names. I wouldn't want to give my kids trendy names, or name them after cities or states, because that's just ****ing retarded. If my kids want to be unique, it'll come through personality, not from a name.

Fun fact: people with ridiculous first names are less likely to be looked at when it comes to resumes and jobs and whatnot.

    Re: I'll name you "Accident"

Parents who name their kids unique things have no idea what they are doing to their child. Unique names are cannon fodder for bullies at school.

    For example: Raina.
"Hey, what's the forecast for today? Cloudy with a slight chance of Raina?"
    "Look out! It's female rain!"

Secondly, we have people who name their kids things that are pronounced totally different than they are spelled. You might think it is awesome to name your child Lemonjello, but he or she will be ridiculed the rest of his or her life.
"Lemon Jello? Is Lemon Jell-o here?"
    "It is lay-mon-jay-low!"
"Yeah, like I said... Lemon Jell-o. Do you prefer your name with or without the fruit?"

Finally, people who name their children after things they cannot afford: Ferrari, Lamborgini, Porsche, Mortgage. Yeah, we all know why you named your kid that and it is stupid.

So common names might be "bland" but you can potentially keep your child from hating your guts. ^_^

OK. Last two guys, ha your digs..Subtle! How bout you worry bout YOUR OWN kids. If my kids were to be bullied by other kids simply because of their name, they'd probably be yours. If your petty, snide remarks are anything to go by.

I also love Zuko and Xavier for males and Serena for girls!

Your ad hominem attempt at poisoning the well is quite unnecessary. You are free to name your babies whatever you want to. Some of us simply feel that parents should ensure that they take the future of the child into consideration when making that decision. Whether you want to take that advice is up to you.

Anywho, I myself haven't decided on names for my future unborn children.
We will most likely have a list of possible choices when the time arises, but I would prefer that my wife and I make the final decision once the child is born. It just feels more personal that way to me.

Honestly, if you wanted to name your kid Potato, I wouldn't give a damn. I don't think I'm ripping on anyone by stating my opinion of "unique" names for kids. I was just stating that it's been proven that people who have stereotypical "black" or "ghetto" names (Lafawnda, Shenaynay, etc) are much less likely to be called for interviews and job opportunities, even if they're a freakin wizard. I could only imagine the trend is the same for more unique names.

Once again, I don't care what you name your kid, but I'm naming mine something more traditional, because that's my personal preference. Though Potato would be a pretty funny middle name.

I have no idea what I'd name my kids. I mean I have a general idea of what I'd like, but I feel the woman in my life would have a word to say about what I would name them.

I will however state the most arbitrary name I've ever seen.

Isn't that usually how bullying works? Kids being held down? That's why names like John, and Joe, and James, and Michael, are really good. It keeps your kids under the bully radar.

If you name your kid Xavier, the kid will probably get teased. They'll probably call him Professor X, or Wheels, even if he isn't in a wheel chair. The teasing would be especially horrible if something were wrong with his legs.

Whatever, I'd love to be called professor X.

Seriously though, it depends on the kid more than the name.

We had a slew off odd names on our high school football team, and the nicknames, no matter how racial, discriminatory, or even positive, didn't effect the person in the slightest because he knew we liked him.

It depends on the child popularity status more than his name. Which I would argue depends more on their looks and personality more so than the name.

Could the name make it harder for them to achieve that popularity status? Probably, but I would put my money on other factors over the name.
