I wanna see what TFF sees

We live in some pretty awesome places. Earth is a pretty awesome place.
We all get up to awesome stuff on a day-to-day basis. This is awesome. You know what would also be awesome? If we shared it!

So here's how this is going to work. You are to take a picture (or use one you've already got) of something you see (nearly) everyday. Maybe the view on your morning commute to work. Your breakfast mug in which you make your coffee every single morning thank you very much. The view from your bedroom window. Your supermarket. Anything at all, provided you use it/visit it/whatever it on a regular basis.

Feel free to post more than one picture etc. And please offer an explanation!

The picture I've attached is the view out of my window at work. It overlooks the New Zealand houses of Parliament. The building on the left (The Beehive) is where Governement ministers and Cabinet work. Opposition MPs operate from another building to the left and across the street. To the right of the Beehive is the actual House of Parliament. The debating Chamber is inside there. To the right is a building I'm not sure the name or function of. I really should know. I remember being told once that if the Queen were ever to stay in New Zealand, then she would stay there. Which doesn't really make sense to me, as if she visited, she'd probably travel. I also vaguely recall being told that that is where the Parliamentary Library is, where MPs ask the 'librarians' to do quick but reliable research in order to inform debate in the Chamber.

In the distance, against the hill (rather obscured) is the suburb of Thorndon, where my parents bought their first house, and my two siblings lived before they moved to a more suburban locale (where I was born into).

You can also see two Cathedrals. The large, pink one close to the Parliament grounds is the Anglican one; the brick and cement one with the Roman-style pillars is the Catholic one. The Catholic one was my mother's parish growing up.

I really like the view.

(NB: I wrote all that before looking for the file to attach. I can't find the photo I know exists; here's a crappy iPod one I took during a protest.)

This is down the road from my house. If I were to look to the left, it would be thick woods lol straight ahead would be my grandmas place. This was taken on a bad camera phone, so forgive the quality. I took this back in the winter. The view is MUCH different when the trees aren't all dead.

This is a picture of the back parking lot at work, taken while sitting at the picnic table on our loading dock. You can see said loading dock in the forefront. The sketchy red fenced enclosure in the background hides our dumpster and cardboard bailer. And bodies. Just kidding. Maybe. The cars you see are mostly employee vehicles, including mine. It's the silver one in front of the light pole.

Nothing exciting. I took the picture yesterday after running some trash out. Decided to take five and enjoy the weather while we have it.

This is Thornton Lake. It is on the way into town, or even if I want to walk down and get a soda at the gas station. I live on a street named for it. My friends used to swim in it somewhere, apparently. They'd dive and find random stuff down there. Think they found a car once.

But Brisbane sounds better than Ipswich, that's why it's my location There's a bike lane there, because cyclists are road users too! There are bike lanes everywhere around here.

nix, the crate is for Gatsby. I crate trained him when I first got him, and that's where he hangs out when I go to work. That's our routine and I think he'd be freaked out if I let him roam about freely during the day at this point. He's always out when I'm home, and lately he's been sleeping outside the crate because he's been able to calm down (as a younger dog, he wouldn't calm down to go to sleep unless he was in a crate... he's nuts). He sometimes just hangs out in there with the door open. It's his spot.

Alpha: I will gladly take a picture of the kitchen... it needs to be cleaned, though. Big breakfast for Labor Day. Also I need to go to the store, my pantry and fridge are pretty sparse. Once it's worth taking a picture of, I will share.

Nikki: Gatsby says thank you. He picked out the wreath himself.

In summer we have a lot of feasts here in Malta. Every town has its own feast and its own fireworks. Lots of money are spent on the fireworks and there are people who make them as a hobby (even though it's very dangerous and accidents do happen sometimes). Place, better yet a sight near my home called Moruga, it takes 5-10 min by foot to reach it. The river bellow is called Neretva, it's rather cold even on these hot summer days, good place to fish and relax though. Used to pass by every day when I was in highschool.

Well, I meant to take the picture when I first pulled up, rather than after I'd already pulled my first gate, but for the most part, this is what I see five or six (usually six) days a week.



Roughly half the time, those gates are all already up and the parking lot is full, since I close about half of my shifts. Sometimes, even before open, there are already a lot of cars and sometimes even a line of people on weekends. Like today. While I've been typing this since coming back from the bank, three cars have arrived, and there are already kids running around playing outside our front door. We don't open for another 18 minutes.
