Certain mineral waters can dissolve kidney stones, gall bladder stones, help cure pancreas, stomach and acidity and other such organs. If you wanna cleanse your digestive system, you gotta go to sanatoriums that do that, usually in Carpatian mountains. It's usually a good idea to do this at least once in your life, since the crap water we all drink clogs up our kidneys and other organs with salts and other residue.
Dried cherries are good for gout.
If you have high blood pressure and you -know- it's gonna be an issue at the doctor's office, doing a shot of white vinegar will temporarily lower it. You have to do it the night before, though.
Tomatoes are a good source of lycopene which can help reduce the risk of cancers and is good for your eyes.
My high blood pressure was lowered by constant exercise and lifting everyday. It spiked at first, but now it's down.
edit: just realised its a food thread.
Water is good for you and will actually cleanse your body. There is no other substance more beneficial to you than water. I also find that vegetables make you feel really good, especially broccolini. I eat broccolini instead of broccoli now because broccoli is usually infested with bugs. No matter how much you wash that shit, there will be a cocoon of sorts somewhere there.
broccoli/broccolini help prevent cancer. So if you're a perpetual worrier like myself, you will eat it everyday.

^Just realized that Rowan just realized it was a food thread. The fool.
Also seeing I was being a jackass...that didn't know it was a food thread. I'll make another appearance and act like a jackass that knows it's a food thread. I really like Pomegranates and Lichi. Both of those were marketed under the term "Superfruits". Does that count? Or does it not count towards my smugness points rewards card if I liked them BEFORE I knew they were fruits from Krypton?
Its not the best idea to mask what you are perpetuating to be an ongoing problem with high blood pressure. It can and will eventually kill you. While thats interesting to know, a temporary solution to a long term problem which just happens to be life altering is not something you wanna be hiding from the docs.

I agree, but in cases like my dad's, he -always- has high blood pressure and can almost never afford to take his blood pressure medicine on a daily basis/when he's supposed to. What he takes costs a lot of money if you don't have insurance (which he doesn't have/can't get/can't afford if he -could- get it).
But none of that really matters anyway 'cuz their family doctor is here in TN, they live in TX, and they can't afford to drive to TN just to see him. And no, they won't switch or see someone local. They love their dr with all of their hearts and often joke that when he finally retires, my mom will take cyanide pills or something equally dramatic. *eyeroll*
Tap water in Phoenix is especially gross. They even had a purified water machine in my apartment complex to fill up gallon jugs with for like a quarter.
It may not be the actual -water- always, but the actual pipes and stuff that it travels through to get to our sinks. Even if you were to replace the faucet, there's still all the other places the water goes through that probably has a lot of built up dirt, grime, and other bugs. That's why they say to use cold water if you're going to boil something. Turning the tap onto hot can loosen up more of those particles and make your water more dirty than it might've already been before.
And the only real way to get around -that- is to put a water filtration system on the faucet. They're actually pretty cheap. I bought one for my sister & her girlfriend for like $40 and it had the option of using pure unfiltered tap, a mix of tap & filtered, or totally filtered. You do have to replace the filter screens inside, but I think they're cheap.
EDIT:
No no, Sin, you're good. I haven't tried Lichi fruit. I have a few grapefruits in my fridge though. And I love blueberries, super fruit -wise. They're just too damn expensive.
Urgh sorry for the late reply been down strapped at work, yeah Bleachfangirl that's what I meant tap water is usually treated at the plants they go through and if not the water then the systems they go through like minute amounts of chlorine and fluoride etc then the depredation from pipes they run through copper and cast iron pipes if your in an old house.
You would be more beneficial to drink water from a tank or river literally, or you can buy those cool purifier jugs I think they do the trick.
Also @noxious tomatoes and any other red vegetables like beetroot help reduce the risk cancers and guys the redder the tomatoes help reduce risk of prostate cancer.

-prostate- cancer. That's what I was thinking of.
I found my Mean Green juice -already made- y'all. At -WalMart-. I'm so stoked right now.
.... Granted it's nearly $10 for a big bottle, but I could stretch that bitch for a week. or well.. Yeah. I could. Juicing is hard when you don't have a juicer.

That Mean Green is like pure sugar if you prefer the grassy taste (like me, cuz i'm awesome).
I like water, but tap water has a real bad way of messing with my gut. If it's not Volvic, I may have some issues within half an hour of consumption.
I don't have any special foods. Chocolate helps when I'm grumpy, and green tea helps if I feel bloated.
I've been into Camomile tea lately I don't know if I have felt any extreme positive reactions from it but it's good.

I'm lucky enough to have a lemon/orange tree growing in my back garden, so when I feel crap I grab a couple and make a hot drink out of them and sweeten it with honey. I prefer drinking that over Lemsip or anything like that as they always make me feel worse.
Oh and as I found out at work yesterday, accidentally spraying red curry powder into your face is a great way to clear your sinuses![]()

I will not use honey. Why>? My great uncle was a beekeeper and made his own organic honey. The few times I met him, he would give us cases of it. And it was the best ever. So I do not use honey now.
NOW. On to alcohol.
Red wine has a lot of antioxidants that are good for you.
Having 1 glass of white wine a week is good for pregnant women/their babies.
1 12 oz can of beer a week is good for you liver.
Google it... I had a post all made up but it got fekked up.
When I was preggo, I would have 1/2 a glass of white wine mixed with Sprite - to make a spritzer. That way I could have 2 and it would somewhat dilute the wine.

Im curious about those that dont drink water, what do you drink regularly?
-Dark- chocolate is good for you. 'Cuz of the antioxidants.
I like water. I like unsweetened ice tea better though.
/SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH
I'm curious for an answer to Rowan's question too though - who doesn't drink water?
I mean, I exist almost exclusively off of unsweetened tea, but I still manage to get at least one full glass of water a day (typically more). If I brew my tea particularly strong, I'll be sure to drink more water to offset.

I keeps it real ok.
Yeah, I drink pretty much exclusively water. Maybe squeeze a little lemon into it. I love hot tea, SO MUCH. But I've recently got into iced tea. Lemon is okay in that but generally I just like it straight. And water is delicious as hell. Get a brita filter.
