How do you deal with people you dislike?

Specifically i mean chavs, for those who don't know it's basically a british term for some annoying person of a specific dress code and attitude problem mainly asking this because i don't want to get kicked out of College and i really wanted to punch this guy until he swallowed a tooth.

Plus i always find when a question like this crops up people have interesting answers and a good story or two to tell.

First of all, let me thank you for teaching me a new word. I had no idea what a "chav" was. Here in Ohio, we call those people "wiggers" or "white trash". I don't use the word myself, as it is something along the lines of profanity in our family. Writing them is okay, as long as you are calling someone that.

Basically, I try to ignore them. While delivering the newspaper, I pass such people (especially in the poorer parts of town). If they try to strike up a conversation, I don't even acknowledge their existence. If they are insistent, I pull the "invisible earbud" out of my ear and then say something like, "Sorry, a good song was playing. What?"

I haven't had any problems as of yet. If they try anything, I have certain "objects" with me to protect myself. But ignoring or general lack of interest seems to work for me.

Ah, them types.
I have to deal with them a lot working security and generally they call every Security guard a 'fat ****' regardless of girth, and many are either drunk or testosterone addled enough to make threats of violence, a common one being they'll 'knock you out with one punch'.

I have a solid head, a high pain tolerance and the knowedge most are full of shit, so generally I just call them on it and laugh like a maniac. No respect for me, none for you.

When I ask for advice on how to deal with people whom I dislike, I've been told to just "kill 'em with kindness", but that's really hard to do when you're being disrespected, so I usually tend to just ignore them. It's passive, yeah, but much better than losing my cool and probably end up making things worse.

I ignore them and let them make a fool out of themselves without biting back (most of the time). That way they end up feeling like the idiot, and the lesser person in the situation, and most of the time they get kind of bitter because they've tried to piss me off and it hasn't worked. Irritating somebody like that is a lot more fun than physically hurting them in my opinion.

Well I prefer not to be mean or rude and just ignore them or let them do what they want. Its better to leave a person who annoy you to do what they want coz in the end they're the ones who face the problems.

I worked at McDonald's for a brief time, and most of the people that came in were total dbags and I wanted to kick the shit out of all of them. Can't do that though, so I just troll, and try to piss em off even more. This works for typical everyday douches to. Just troll them till they get really mad, and they will prolly leave you alone haha

But sometimes I can hardly hide what I feal toward them specially when they are really bad so I just show them what I feel coz I hate pretending !

Just pay them no attention unless they confront me. Which is why I always keep a canopener and a can of 'whoop ass' on me. So if they confront me I throw the can at them and beat them in the head with the canopener.

Anyway, when they start to piss me off, I would wait until they're not in sight to actually start calling them names. Although, they all develop the same name after said time of departure. Something along the lines of ****ing ****tard seems fitting. (No matter the age/size, once they piss me off, they've officially earned that title...and it's very hard to get rid of)

As for actually dealing with them, I've gotten myself in some trouble using some of my methods. One method was standing up for myself because this one chick was an absolute bitch and walked around like she owned the place. Apparently, I was put into 'my place' afterwards. I spoke to a friend about it and she told me two things, "She's always like that" and "Try to be nice about it and defuse the situation. Whatever anger you have towards them, save it until they are out of sight". That's probably the best advice I have for you. There's really nothing you can do about it really. It's also the advice that professionals give in any conflict resolution lecture. There's no point in pissing them off or annoying them more. The only way to actually do that is to, as said previously, "Kill 'em with kindness". That can be done in most professional situations.

Off the record though, you can do whatever the **** you like. XD

I'd simply ignore them. Why should I bother spending my time on people that I dislike? There's this girl in my class which seems to hate me for no reason, do I give a damn? No. She may talk crap about me and whatever she wants to. In the beginning, it bugged me a bit, but that got over pretty soon. I know she blackmouthes me and stuff, but I have better things to do than arguing with her.
Another way: annoy them back. It'll be pretty funny to see them explode, haha

I try to ignore them, but I've recently discovered that I also make jokes at their expense. It's a horrible thing, I know, but you have to understand the people you don't like.

There's a girl at work who carries herself with such high authority, it's irritating beyond belief. It's also pretty funny how she carries herself with such high regard - today she insinuated that a fellow employee shouldn't be talked of as if he was "crucial", when we were simply stating he was still being treated unfairly by management after a royal **** up a few months ago. And me and some of the others do joke at her expense, like copy her laugh or the way she says certain things.

If I really hate the person, I become snide. Which is nasty, but I can't help it if my tongue wants to play a whip now and then. It's like there's a horrible creature in me wanting to get out.

I am kinda in this situation right now lol I ignore the girl unless she starts glaring at me or gets in my face like she's the baddest thing in the world,when that happens..I usually can't help but give her a smart remark like," If you take a picture..it'll last longer" if she's glaring at me. If she's trying to look bad infront of a guy she is inlove with,I will tell her," You ain't gonna do crap,so shut up." That ticks her off the worst because she aint nothing but talk I can't stand some people..>.< But anyways...try to control your anger/hate and ignore the person.. for anyone who is looking for advice

I get this problem a lot (people annoy me on purpose).
I just make this well-practiced concerned face and say. "I can see you are upset/angry/excited (this usually distances them from that feeling, for some baloney reason) something must really be troubling you, Let me help." And so forth. Oh, don't forget to keep calm and sincerely concerned or this wont work. It'll look funny, though!
