How Did You Find TFF

that time I really wanted to become a member on the forum of ff,
I see some forums that I think is less interesting for me,
and I finally found this forum, thefinalfantasy.net
I very pleased to see the front of the view that displays a circle like a similar day with roman numerals from I to XIII are located at the top of the front page ^^ so, that's the story

I just realised that if I had joined another FF forum, I wouldn't have stayed on it cause they all look so impersonal. But then again, I might have found this one in the end and joined so...

Also, try to find a forum with as much variety in subforums as TFF. I really can't find any. In all the literature/movie/guitar forums, there's always this "off-topic" forum at the bottom for all the rest. That's just no fun at all...

That's what makes TFF interesting even though you're not into FF at the moment, the variety.

I guess the main reason back then for my joining was to find friends but now I'm just here when I've got a few spare minutes. I think TFF meant more to me when I was younger because for the first year or two I really wanted to make the forums a better place. Nowadays, I want to create a fun place for people to join and have a good time like I did back then.

The 3 years thing was just an odd mistake, since I haven't been active on TFF for more than a year. I think my mind skipped the parts of time when I wasn't active. Or something.

This may sound like a load of bull, but I think I assumed you joined when I joined cause you were one of the first members I knew.

Hm. I'd say there's a major difference between TFF and other FF forums, or forums in general really.

It seems that TFF is one of few forums on which the non FF related (or whatever the forum theme is) parts are as important as the FF related part. I've been browsing the almighty interwebz yesterday and I couldn't find any movie forum that was not all movie oriented, with at the bottom a subforum called "off-topic", i.e. the general stuff.

Such a shame, but it makes being a TFF member all the more interesting.

I think there's not enough action in the Music and Movie forums though, but that's just my opinion.

I tried out some other forums, too. It seems only a few have VMs - like us. But they weren't all that great; I still find TFF to be the best out of all of them. Maybe it's because it's familiar, but it's most likely because we're awesome like that!^^

Maybe they've changed in the past few years, because that's how long it's been since I've visited any of those other sites (I didn't even realize some of them existed, still; they seemed pretty dead...) Final Fantasy Insider in particular had a music, movies, etc. sub forum. Ask Vtranslanka, or however you spell his name; he was there. I know what you mean about other forums seeming a bit impersonal; a lot of forums seem to have the bare minimum, as far as forum layout and design go. Not much to look at. Anyhoo...

I found this place by complete accident, looking up some help for a problem in (i think...) FFVIII on ole' Gogol, and this was the 2nd option on the list. I clicked on it, and thought "woah, all these people like FF just like me!" Coming from little old New Zealand means I only know 3 people who play the game, so this place is a little outlet for a big hobby of mine! It was only after 2-3 weeks that I realised that there were more forums than the FF-related ones, so I had a look, and was blown away by some of the intelligence I saw in the other forums. What makes TFF cool is that there is a lot of room for non-FF related discussion. Sure, we're all linked in our like of the game, but we have other interests, and we're all happy to talk about them.

None of my friends or relatives play FF games and I always felt like I was the only one who did lol. So I decided to have a look on the internet and see if there was a fan club for FF and thats how I found TFF.

I remember I was having a hard time with one of the SEymour fights in ffx. I remember a long time ago that I played another game that had a forum(not a square enix game) so I started searching for help and the forum popped up. So I decided to register and post,I had also been a part of a ff forum before this one and it was very similiar to this one,at the time I thought tff was the same one but i don't think it was. So that's also part of the reason I looked for another forum. I was looking for that one and couldn't find it. But this one was very similar.

I google'd "Final Fantasy IV" two days after we moved into the new house right before my junior year of high school. I was looking for more information on IV since I already knew everything there was to know about VI. I didn't own the SNES cartridge (II, if you will), but had acquired a PS2 and was considering picking up the PSX port of the game.

Go figure, I posted back and forth with Dawezy on day one and that's all she wrote.

Kalisto (Inactive, then CloudStrife then Kairi) got me to join. I had known him from my first high school, and we posted together on another forum, XGAM (Xenogears, God and Mind) back in the day. I joined in July, the summer I was to turn 15, coming out of my Sophomore year of high school.

My first few months (then years) here were entertaining. Since then the forum has changed, become a lot less active. There was a period where I was a mod in 2004, but lost modship after S became admin and restructured the place, and opted not to be a mod again since I was a **** and let the intarwebs powers get to me.

I guess the years of memories here is what keeps me coming back.

I remember, in seventh grade (late 2000/early 2001) a friend was looking at the site while we were at the computer lab in school. I browsed the forum for a few months after that, and signed up for an account in September of 2001. I got bored and the account was eventually deleted, but I found my way back here in early 2002 because I needed help with some game, I imagine.

So in other words, almost seven years on this account, almost eight overall, and almost nine years of knowing of its existence. I am talking about the age where Pete was Toni Leone or something like that. There have been three elections, many world events, and many babies born in this time. It is depressing, but at the same time a testament to the boredom inflicted by suburbia.

I was looking for something related to Final Fantasy on Google (at this point I don't remember what), and clicked on the link for this place out of curiosity. It looks kind of fun, so I joined, and that's that.

EDIT: Oh, the memories just came back! I was looking for FFVII on Ebay and Amazon back in the summer before eighth grade, and there was this pretty cheap version that was supposed to be a platinum edition of the game. Not knowing what that was, I searched around Google, and stumbled upon this cute little place. The folks were just so nice that I decided to join.

I used to be back on this website a loooong time even before I registered here to be honest. I started visiting this website when it supported IRC or something to that nature, as I had friends in chatrooms that I talked to a lot. When one of my friends stopped getting on the IRC chat thingie, I got bored and looked around the website. I saw that it had some forums, and I got interested. I eventually registered in the middle of my summer right before 8th grade at the tender age of 13. So I pretty much stumbled on this website awhile back lol. Probably before half of you were born, I bet.
