Welcome to 2014 from TheFinalFantasy's family to your own. Please forgive any Swype-induced typos I may make this evening/morning as I cannot anticipate catching them all as I move along. The phone dictionary has a mind if its own and I am still trying to figure out how I got home.
Err..
What are your resolutions for the new year? Do you think you can maintain them?
I'm a pretty honest person, or at least it's like to think that's true. My real problem is that I tend to withhold the truth if I think it's going to hurt you. Well, no more in most cases! My resolution is to be more candid with people. What kind of friends am I if I can't tell you what you need to hear?

I tend not to make hard and fast resolutions. I have things I'd like to do, but I've stopped trying to make sure that they happen. Though with the year and my life, I'd like to see mine be independence. Which is more of a goal rather than something to work on maintaining. So I guess getting my personal projects completed or at least significant progress on them. Which I think is doable and is the plan already. I'd like to see me write a chapter for Twin Moon and actually send out my short stories to see if someone wants to publish them. And I have too much CG modeling to do, but it all rolls under personal projects.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

If you need a buddy to help you achieve the publishing, let me know. I've got a couple of people I could put you into contact with who have a couple of books published!

My new year's resolution is to live on the moon by this time next year. Though since America doesn't have a space program, I'd have to become Chinese in order to do this, but I'm not that big a fan of communism, and I don't really like the taste of cat meat and I'm not too fond of euthanizing baby girls, so I don't know if living on the moon is a possibility for me at this time.
I have really specific resolutions, because you can only achieve something if you have a clear idea about what it is you're trying to achieve. In saying that, if rather keep the details to myself, so here are some the generalised versions.
Spend less money on things I don't need.
Move in with my girlfriend somewhere we both like.
Get more exercise, without paying anyone and preferably while saving money (e.g. bike to work).
Finish the personal projects that I've started, and finish new ones before starting even more new ones.
Travel to a majority French-speaking country and speak mostly French, for at least a week.
Get (as) proficient in Javascript (as I am in Python).
I really try to not do resolutions as I want to be the best person I can be each year. That being said though, my goals for this year is to budget my money better and try to get more active.
My resolution last New Year's was 1680x1050 but, sure enough, I broke it. I broke the damn resolution! I break all of my New Year's resolutions so I'm not sure why I even bother declaring them.
But what's life without unattainable goals? Going to aim a little higher this year with mine. Maybe 1920x1080?
I want to read more, which I reckon will be the one I'm most likely to keep to because I got a kindle this year and Answerly on Youtube just started a book club which I'm hella looking forward to. On Mondays they're reviewing books written by women, already got the first book and I'm really enjoying it so far. =D
I want to eat healthier. Note I didn't put "I wanna lose weight" because I find that kind of a negative way of putting it. I'm happy with how I look, I just have really bad eating habits like frying bacon at 1am purely because I can, and there are no adults around to stop me. *spoiler alert: the adult is me. Ew.*
I want to start getting up at 9am everyday, or earlier. My sleeping pattern is awful. The majority of my classes this term won't start til 2:30pm and onwards, so I need to make sure I don't slip into a bad habit of getting up at 12 or later again, which, left to my own devices, is gonna happen. It's gonna happen folks, it always does.
My resolutions are to make more money than I spend and have fun at school without being a total flunky...I proly better find a good way to deal with that little brother of mine...
I don't really have any resolutions. I just want to be better in general, without changing who I am or trying to be a saint. It's more a resolution to make a conscious effort to make better decisions, however simple or complex they may be.

I wrote all mine down on a sheet of notebook paper, folded it in half, and put it in my bedside table drawer. I did that last year, and actually had a fair bit of success with it. I referred back to my list throughout the year so I wouldn't forget what I had resolved. I like to keep most of my resolutions pretty close to my chest because it somehow makes me more likely to work on them.
But last year, I resolved to try being pescetarian for a year to try and improve my eating habits and overall well-being, and it went very well. I'm keeping it up for this year. I don't miss red meat, pork, or chicken at all. And I doubt I'll ever eat pork again, period.
I hope everyone has good luck with their resolutions!
