Halloween Candy!

I like food, so it's only appropriate I ask, What kinds of candy do you like?

I don't eat too much candy anymore, just during Halloween, and it's usually because it's the only time I can stumble across cretin treats.

One type of candy that I like that I only see during Halloween is, I don't remember the name but it's usually wrapped in like orange or Black wax paper type stuff. It's like cream colored taffy with peanut butter inside. You've probably got it before as a kid.

I used to hate getting Candy Corn. Who the heck even eats that stuff? I used to just throw it away whenever I got some. Also getting Smarties was lame. That has to the the cheapest, or crap candy ever made. Flavored chalk woooo!

I've always loved getting chocolate, and if you don't like chocolate, you're missing out. Reeses ftw! and Milky Way Midnights, I love dark chocolate.

There are a few. Out side of the ones I said above I like the little packs of nerds. The sugar cookies, popcorn balls, and heroin spiked butterfingers!

Oh ok, scratch the last one but the rest are damn good. There are a few more but I can't think of them right now.

Trick-or-treat story.
This happened when I was out with my friends on my military base back when I was stationed in Montgomery, AL. I was the "generic vampire", and my two other friends were "generic ghost"(his sheet even had those words on it) and "generic zombie".

We decide to go trick-or-treating out in the Officer neighborhood. You know you're in the officer neighborhood because all the houses are bigger and look a hell of a lot more luxurious, as opposed to the ghetto-gated-community type abodes that the NCO's/airmen with kids had to reside in.

We got to one particular house where one of the wing's commanders lived. (We knew because a colonel's symbol was out front along with the wing abbreviation.) None of us were in the wing, so we figured the colonel probably would never guess who we were. We were bold enough to knock on the door... the colonel himself, whom we recognized from pictures, was at the door in civilian clothes.

We walked away from the house after a few minutes of idle chit-chat with 3 large chocolate bars each. We're talkin' Boy Scout fundraiser size.

It was awesome. Since that day, I have never received more bountiful booty.

I'm not really a big Halloween fan like I was when I was younger, and even then, I never really found any real meaning to it other then to get candy and waste cash on costumes when you could be saving it for something more important, I'm more a Thanksgiving and Christmas kind of guy. Through ever since I was a kid I've always loved the taste of Candy Corn, its my favorite candy not just for Halloween but all year, and less calories compared to Milky Ways and other chocolates. Through granted I like to see the kids having fun during the Halloween event, but Halloween these days is just more dangerous then when I was younger, plus you got that swine flu crap going around with kids and the sort and it just spoils the day which should be fun. I miss the days when I was young like 7-13 when Halloween had some fun to it.

Have you tried the Dark Chocolate M&M's? They are absolutely amazing!

I will admit though, that being in New Orleans, specifically Bourbon Street on Halloween = Freakin AWESOME.

I like the apples in the jungle juice that you can eat they are very good to have to eat./

jungle juice doenst taste all the good but if you have the apples in them and you take the apples after they soak the flavor then you eat the apples they are pretty good and make you feel fuzzy pretty quick especially if you eat thim with vodka like I did heeheeee

Being allergic to Chocolate truly hampers this holiday for me. I love Jelly Bellys but never get them. Starbursts are nice. Most of my holiday treats I cook myself.

I also love homemade punch. Lime sherbet mixed with Pineapple Juice, grape koolaid mix and Ginger ale is perfect.

I don't eat candy that often, and when I do it's usually in the form of a Wispa. I like skittles (taste the rainbow!), Maltesers (round, crunchy chocolate balls) and Minstrels (like... small, mouthwatering chocolate disks) too, but those are the sorts of things we usually grab at the cinema.

I'm not a huge fan of gummy sweets, but Haribos are okay I guess.

Anyone remember that chocolate that came out after the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory came out? I loved those... they should be the next thing to come back.

I've never been out trick-or-treating, and never will.

However, I'm a big fan of chewy sweets lately, especially Fruit-Tella, because they are made with a slightly higher percentage of real fruit than the rest of them.

Also, a little FYI about Smarties; they are not suitable for vegetarians because the blue ones are now coloured with a substance gotten from beetle wings, similar to cochineal (the red colouring, which is from the cochineal beetle)

ShockTarts were amazing! I loved those a lot! I don't eat 'em anymore, because I really don't eat that much candy anymore either. I do have some favorites though:

Twix- My favorite way to eat them was to put it in the freezer overnight and then eat it later. Yeah, the caramel got so hard that it would almost break your teeth, but that's how I liked it!

Junior Mints- I could eat these by the box! I'm the only one in my family that like them, because my brothers all say that they taste like chocolate-covered toothpaste. Better for me since I like them, because I would always get thiers when a house would pass them out.

Atomic Warheads- I don't know a whole lot of people that like these, but I do! I love all kinds of sour candy, and these are probably the most sour I've ever had. I ate so many at one time before, that I got a small hole in my tongue. Not all the way through.

I just want to say something about so-called "Fun Size" candy bars. Why so tiny? That's not fun at all. Fun Size candy bars to me would be twice as big as regular size candy bars!

Candy corn is great, as are Twix, Milky Way and Snickers. That's the holy grail of Halloween candy right there. Nerds and Smarties are also right up there. And how could nobody mention Reese's peanut butter cups?!

And Dodie, Atomic Warheads are freakin amazing! Not as good as Sour Patch Kids, which is my all time favorite candy, but still great. It's got everything, the sweet, the sour, the gummy... simply perfect.

I will third that one! Those things are amazing and truely show that big things can come in small packages.

Not as good as Sour Patch Kids, which is my all time favorite candy, but still great. It's got everything, the sweet, the sour, the gummy... simply perfect.

And I will second this one also, it is not my favorite candy but it is my second and a close runner up to hot tomallies. Got to love the cinnomin twist on those.


Anyways I thought of another one that I loved as a kid and I can't remember what the hell they where called but they where the little waifer stlye candies that where white and orange that tasted like a really sweet penut butter. Those where superhellabadass yo!

I never got to go trick-or-treating much, because my dad didn't like me going out a school night. And damn, Halloween always landed on a weekday. Plus it used to rain a lot.

But when I did go trick-or-treating, I used to throw on hella random stuff and pretend it was a costume lol. I never once bought a costume. I was shocked when my parents bought my little sister one this yearxD

Anywho, my favorite candies are snickers, twix, butterfinger, reeses, any type of sour candy possible, milky way, those almond things with coconut, crunch bars, etc. There was so many, I don't know. You can't discriminate against candy. I mean, c'mon. It's all good.

But damn, those candy corns were nasty.

I fourth this. It was always fun with a group of friends seeing who can finish the entire warhead.

I like most things with caramel and/or nuts/peanut butter. If it has both, I will most likely have a forceful mouthgasm when I eat it. Skittles are always good, as are starbursts, Smarties, and Sprees. Candy corn is good in small amounts, but I rarely ever eat it. I'm offended by the portrayal of corn. That's now what it looks like at all. Ignorant dicks.

Atomic Warheads were delicious. once you get past on that sour, the actual candy was good. I liked the Black cherry one. I remember as a kid, there were two types of candy I liked eating, even though I had a herd time doing so.
Atomic Warheads is one, and the second one was Atomic Fireballs. Not so hot anymore, but when I was small they were. Atomic Warheads are still sour to me. Doesn't stop me though.

I also remember that when I would eat too many, my tongue would get sore.

I used to enjoy halloween candy when I was little but now I have to stay healthy and in good shape so that shit is out of the question..Alright i'll admit it I ate a reese cup or two from my girlfriends brother's bag of candy...Also candy corn happens to be one of the greatest things ever created I love it...

My mother didn't believe in celebrating Halloween; so we never got to literally go out and trick-or-treat. Sometimes we'ld go to the church festival, but that's it.

I didn't get into the candy world part of trick-or-treating until the past 2 years as an adult. I love little candies now !

Few faves;

Uncommonly Loved: Necco's (they are disks made from the candy heart stuff you usually get around Valentines Day....the chocolate ones are to die for ! )

Chocolate: Reese's, and Twix

Sour/Gummy: Peach & Apple Rings, Sour Patch Kids, and Sour Straws !!!

Also, Warheads were awesome. I think someone already mentioned the Black Cherry, but that is one of my favorites as well.

Reese is so good! I agree that chocolate is probably the best, but there are some good candies too; I always hated when houses would hand out gummies or something.

I think I kind of remember what you're talking about, they were plain semi-sweet white sticks right? I think I used to get those from the Ice cream man. There was Also a Gum one where you blow and powdery stuff came out like smoke.

You just have to find the wandering Ice cream man that's smuggling them Meier, but he only shows up the the third Thursday of every year. He's tricky though because sometimes he has a cart instead of a van..... sneaky bastard...

they have them around here by the truckloads, it was the highest selling candy at wal-mart this year where I live...My girlfriends little brother got about 30 of them and I ate most of them cause he said they sucked and tasted like chalk...yummy more for me..

They still sell them, although instead of 'candy cigarettes' they are now called 'candy sticks' and they don't have the pink coloured end so it doesn't look like a smoke.

I prefer those Halloween Kisses, and Tootsie Rolls. Yum! I don't like sour stuff too much, and am hit or miss with chocolate.
