As for the question, no. I haven't had a boyfriend on the internet. I know a few people that have met thier other half over the web though, so it can happen for a lot of people. Probably takes a lot more work than a relationship where you can see each other in person though.

Nope. I for one am not for internet relationships. Now, if I met a girl and was talking to her online, and we clicked, and for whatever reasons, one of us moved to the other's area, I'd consider dating them. However, sorry ladies, unless you're in the NY area, no shot. I don't e-date. I'm kind of a big fan of like actually spending time with someone I'm interested and goofing off and all of that fun stuff.

And yeah I guess I had one awhile ago. I was seeing this girl that I knew from the internets. It started to get serious for a bit, but then I decided that it wasn't worth persuing because she literally lived halfway across the world, lol. I hear she's in a happy relationship now though, so good for her.
I think it would be too hard to not be able to physically "be" with a girl for the relationship to work out. I think it can work out but both people have to be really dedicated and be ready to put up with anything to get it to work.

Maybe I'm simply a tech-whore, but I'm fairly certain that there are wondrous new technologies such as cameras, webcams and telephones that can help you see and know someone you meet online. There's also these things called cars and airplanes that allow one to travel great distances in relatively short periods of time that help even more.
I've had an online girlfriend, sure. It was a pretty serious relationship too. Not sure I'd ever have one again though. Most of it involves simply waiting for things to happen and if it goes sour, there's very little to show for it.
