    general questions about homosexuality

I'm not going to go into why I have these questions. Because it's not important. so I will just dive right in.

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual.

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
(Let's say a 5 year old god fearing boy has special feelings for another 5 year old boy. Would he go to hell for those feelings if he were to die before becoming a young adult)

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?
(Are the thoughts a sin, or just the act)

I know homo sexuality is a pretty big subject here, but I was hoping to bring more to the topic today.

I saw a clip of a young man being exorcised in the name of God to take out the demon of homosexuality that was in him. He claimed his throw up was the demon coming out of his body. He claims to be straight now, but yet still has the thoughts. If the demon left...why does he still have the thoughts? His pastor tells him that even having the thoughts condemn him to hell. So if he were to die right now he would go to hell. Wow.

I don't know enough on the subject to have an opinion either way. I am of neither church nor am I homosexual. Still, wanted to see what you guys thought. :-)

First I'd like to say that I don't see the connection between being faithful to your religion or whatever way you try to live your life, and being gay.

    1. It doesn't really matter. Why should you care about some religious people telling you you're evil? There will always be crazy fuckers like that. As long as they don't bother you...

    2. You can't just go from gay to straight. If it turns out you feel more comfortable with being straight (again), you were probably straight all along. And if the question is whether you can change someone's sexual preference, then no.

    3. It would be absurd. Luckily, I live in a free society where I can have sex with any type of person I want.

    4. What?

    5. What?

    1. Nope, they don't. Everyone should be free to live their own lives, and I'm sure God wouldn't be too happy to find his loving followers being prejudice or discriminative towards gay people, who are actually part of our human race who he created in the first place.

I'm not saying God created gay people, I'm saying He created us.

    2. Nope, you can't help who you fall for even if you try. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt - it's really not amusing when you're in a relationship when both sides are trying/pretending to love each other.

    3. I'd be pretty pissed off, and I'd still have same-sex sex anyway. Besides, the government doesn't/shouldn't have a reason to make it illegal anyway.

    4. I don't think five year old children have those sort of feelings, but I get what you mean. And the answer is again no. Jesus apparently died for our sins, so we're going to be forgiven in the end anyway.

    5. Nope, you don't.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking when I read through the original post. I don't understand all this stuff about throwing up demons and speaking to someone who is your equal but apparently he thinks he is above you somehow and can speak to The Creator.

Live your life how you want. Believe what you want, fack who you want to fack, but don't hurt anyone around you. That's the way I see it. It has nothing even remotely close to do with demons, etc.

    Indeed.

I've had enough with the whole: "ZOMG, a demon makes you wanna fack another man/woman! Quick, teh Holy Water and Crosses - we're gonna get that bitch outta you!" Seriously, a demon? Someone was watching too many movies.

Gawd I hate it when religion gets in the way of love.

ugh seriously? This thread isn't asking whether or not demons are involved in someone being homosexual. However, many religious people believe that being gay is a sin. Which would make it completely normal to have the word "demon" come across the page when I ask questions about being gay. Especially when my questions root from an exorcism.

These are legit questions. My only interest is to see the questions answered by those who feel strongly one way or the other...or even just interested in one of the questions. So for the sake of being on topic can we not all answer at least one of the questions?

I am all for peace and love, but that's really not the topic at the moment. LOL .

Okay, but how am I supposed to answer your question when they make no sense to me? Being gay isn't a "sin" to me, and I have no idea why some religious people think gay people have demons in them. I'm not talking to you when I say I don't understand why it's even brought up. I get why you posted it in the topic, because I understand that some people do think it to be true. But the idea of that is absolutely absurd.

Than just type the word no, lol. I am ok with gay, bi, straight, furries...it's whatever. However, I can't imagine not wondering a few of these things myself. I like knowledge and the way different people look at different things. My answer to my own questions are no, but I am sure that is not everyone's opinion. :-) NVM type what you guys want..it's GC not ID anyways. >>

Religion is nothing but an obstruction to social understanding and acceptance of things changing.

In the days before religion was as mainstream as it is now, homosexuality wasn't considered a sin. Sex before marriage, etc either.

"Sins" came into being as a way of controlling the population via fear. Don't do it or you'll burn in hell forever is equivalent to telling your child not to write on the wall or you're going to slap the shit out of him and take away his cookies for a week, except people were too naive to question it because was something they couldn't test the truth of first-hand.

You as a human being have the right to live how you want within moral boundaries. The only thing to ever come from a religious person I've taken to heart is "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

However if your sense of morality is so twisted that you think it's immoral for another man or woman to have sexual relations with someone else of their gender, behind their own closed doors, outside of your view, then... well, can't really help you there.

My thoughts on homosexuality are.... do what you want, I just don't really want to hear about it. I've also met a number of gay guys who I absolutely can't stand, not because they're gay, but because they're so god damn flamboyant, egotistical, and bitchy. I've grown accustomed to referring to them as drama queens. I'm more or less disturbed when chicks hit on me or touch me (no, seriously, outside of my girlfriend I hate being touched) I'm equally disturbed when a guy does it. Doing it to someone else in my presence, however, has no effect.

To be a bit more on topic, though

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual.
No, I dont' believe anyone anywhere has the right to tell another person how to live, much less emptily threaten eternal damnation

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?
Nope, pretty sure I'd never stop finding women to be fap material, and if I ever began to think that way about men, I'd be bi, not gay.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?
I follow the status-quo of sexual preference, so I don't think it'll ever become illegal. >_>; If I were gay, however, and it were illegalized, I'd be crying out about denying me constitutional rights.

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
According to Relgion: Yes. I don't believe in heaven, hell, or any sort of an afterlife or divine creator, so... I personally don't believe this.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?
    See answer to number 4.

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual?

No. Stuff like that is wrong. It's not right to use fear of going to hell to "scare a child straight". I think that the child would probably grow up hating the way that they feel, and be confused and scared about it as well. Always worried about being "eternally damned" because they want to love a different way than what the church teaches.

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?

Depends. If this said person WANTS to change them, then yes, but only if this person feels like it's right for him (or her). I think that you really can't help who you fall in love with, so your sexual preferences can change as well. It should NEVER be a forced change, though. That will probably only end in heartache and confusion.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?

I would probably be angry. I mean that's discrimination, and it shouldn't happen. I know that it does, but that's why more people should become open-minded and more accepting of people's differences.

I don't think that I could change it by myself, but it would be a start. Change can definately happen, but it takes time and support for it to happen.

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
(Let's say a 5 year old god fearing boy has special feelings for another 5 year old boy. Would he go to hell for those feelings if he were to die before becoming a young adult)

I really can't tell you about who goes to Heaven or Hell, because I really don't know. It's really just how you are judged when you meet your maker. I really would hate to think that a child of all people would be condemned to Hell, especially because the child has an attraction like that. I also happen to think that it's very natural for a child to develop some sort of feelings for the same sex at some point during thier life. It's all a part of the curiousity we have while we are developing.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?
(Are the thoughts a sin, or just the act)

I'm not sure if thoughts are considered sinful or if you actually have to do something in order to have sinned. I think that it's natural to be curious of these sorts of things, and that's why we have free will. If God (or any other divine entity) had a problem with us having thoughts that are less than Holy, then we wouldn't have been made the way we are.

I would like to close on this note. Love is a beautiful thing that should be cherished, no matter what other people think of it. If you feel that it's right in your heart, then no one else's opinion should matter.

People bitch and moan too much to the government that religion is too homophobic, and quite frankly, it's wrong that governments are attempting to interfere with religious teachings.

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual.
If the religion's teachings, it says that homosexuality is ethically wrong, then that particular religion has as much right in the world to preach against it, even if that means that they're telling kids that they'll go to hell for being that way. If the gay kid doesn't like it, then he has the right to leave the religion.

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?
Sure. All you need to do is go to a hypnotherapist and tell him you don't want to be gay anymore. They cure people from eating disorders and drug problems, so I guess it could work with homosexuality, too.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?
Well, there would be a lot less people in the world, due to the fact that nobody could naturally procreate. That would be an upside. But sexual preference, even in today's society, isn't illegal. People can be gay all they want. The only people who care are the people who run religion, because the homos keep bitching that their religions are homophobic, which brings to question, if their religion is homophobic, then why do they stick with that religion?

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
(Let's say a 5 year old god fearing boy has special feelings for another 5 year old boy. Would he go to hell for those feelings if he were to die before becoming a young adult)

A five year old boy wanting to anally boink another five year old boy is pretty unrealistic, considering that sexual attraction doesn't occur in humans until puberty. However, if it were, say, a twelve year old thinking those same thoughts, he wouldn't go to hell, according to his religion, as long as he doesn't act on those thoughts. Which is why God invented masturbation.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?
(Are the thoughts a sin, or just the act)

You can't get punished for thinking something. Those are mere thoughts. Actions are what count.

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual.

Yes.Well, technically, we have the right to our opinions, and the right to voice said opinions (Bill of Rights, baby!). I don't believe gays will go to hell, but I won't tell someone else they can't say or think that. I might say they're backwards or being a douche, but hey, I have the right to say what I want, so should everyone else.

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?

Not 100% sure on this questions meaning. Do you mean that someone can "straighten" themselves out? Or do you mean can a gay person make the straight object of their desire gay? I believe both can happen, shit I've seen it happen. I don't necessarily think that one day someone wakes up and a light goes off and they say their gay, but I think something like a process of falling in love could possibly happen. A hardcore lesbian I knew throughout HS- college now has a kid with her boyfriend/ fiance. I also had an english teacher in 6th grade, dude wound up leaving his wife and kids (he was mid-40s) and is now with his boyfriend. It's not often but it happens.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?

Well, if they made being straight illegal, I think the world would have a lot of problems down the line. But I would be super pissed, would continue to bang chicks and would probably fight the law tooth and nail.

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
(Let's say a 5 year old god fearing boy has special feelings for another 5 year old boy. Would he go to hell for those feelings if he were to die before becoming a young adult)

No. I don't think that kids that young really have those feelings until puberty. And still, you really can't control what thoughts you have. I also don't think that being gay is really a qualifier for going to hell, unless they're like raping other people or kids. That's when gay sex would be a real problem in my eyes.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?

Well, you're assuming that every religion sees homosexuality as some kind of mortal sin. I personally don't think so. I mean, on one hand yes, I think we're all created in God's image, but we are also given free will to do as we please. I don't think that being gay is a defect or anything, but I think that it is a preference. Now, why would you allow yourself to suffer and not be with the person you truly think you love, just because you think you'll go to hell for it? I know people are going to bust out all sorts of Bible verses to prove me wrong, but the last time I checked, there wasn't a commandment saying "don't do another dude in the butt." Shit, just don't do it in front of me.

Likewise, I don't think it's a sin to think about anything. Action is what counts. Actions are things that can be restrained and show all of that good moral stuff that baby Jesus likes. Thoughts are just for you.

    No

I'm not sure what your asking. If someone Likes someone who is of the same sex but the other is not gay then I think no.

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual.

No. Even through every one has a right to free speech, does not give them the right to force their beliefs down a child's throat.

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?

In my humble opinon, No. I mean, I'm gay and as far as I know I've had attractions to other dudes since I was a small tyke. Even through I find some ladies lovely or beautiful or sweet does not mean I've even been attracted to them sexually.

And to Clint Eastwood, if getting therapy were effective on changing homosexual throughts and what not, then wouldn't I be straight? I think our sexually is wired into us if not from born then as we get older we find out for ourselves what our preference truely is. Therapy for changing homosexuality is full of BS, but as for eating disorders its fair game.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?

Hahaha. I'd still be gay til the day I kick the bucket. And hey what happens behind my closed downs with my bf or lover is my god given right. And yes I would fight the law, but hey this is the USA, our four fathers built this nation based the freedom of speech and equality for all.

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
(Let's say a 5 year old god fearing boy has special feelings for another 5 year old boy. Would he go to hell for those feelings if he were to die before becoming a young adult)

I seriously doubt it. I was like 8 or so years old when I started developing attractions with other boys, and even had sex when I was young. And hey I'm 21, and still here baby!

Some would say such attractions in kids is impossible but hey kids are getting smarter these days.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?

I've never been a relgious person. However, I have my own relationship with God, I don't need any relgious traditions, or go to mass every Sunday just to say I "praise be to you". I praise and talk to God in prayer every day and ask him to give me strength in the days ahead. To be religions like: Christianity, Cathloicism, or Islamic relgions mean is gathering with other people just to hear a preacher or preist say this or that or his or her interpretation of what God wants from you or deserves from us, but the preist himself can be faulty as well and probarly doesn't know what God deserves of him.

Have your own relationship with your God, that's all that matters people!

Still gay, still love the same sex, but I believe we have the right to love who we want, I think that's what makes God happy the most.

Um, no. I'd hope not. They should go to hell.

I don't think you can change who you are attracted to. It's like me trying to feel attracted girls. Hey, I think some girls are hot, but it ain't like that.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?
If they made it illegal, I would be illegal in secrecy. Or do it the easy way and join a protest. If there are none, make one. You can't always sit back and wait, some things you just have to take into your own hands.

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
(Let's say a 5 year old god fearing boy has special feelings for another 5 year old boy. Would he go to hell for those feelings if he were to die before becoming a young adult)

I really don't think God would send a child to hell for have feelings for another boy. I mean, he's so young and his slate is cleaner than the older folks. Supposedly, we're all God's children. Isn't he supposed to accept us for who we are? If not, that's a bitch.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell? (Are the thoughts a sin, or just the act)
I don't believe so. There is nothing wrong, in my opinion of course, with having sex with the same sex. There is no rape or murder included. Plus, what if I didn't even have sex? I better not go to hell for NOT having sex.

I also agree with Phantom. I'm not a very religious person, but I believe that knowing there is God and having a relationship with him counts. I mean, what are you gonna do? Go confess in those confessionals? What are they gonna say, 'Oh now you are forgiven.' Why can't you confess to God alone? I thought God was everywhere.

What I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't have to go to church to listen to preachers to learn what you should know already. Be good and share. Obviously. My mom is very religious, she prays at breakfast, lunch, & dinner and goes to church three times a week. Crazy much? lol But I don't see a need to do all that when you can have your own relationship with him in your prayers.

    Just my few cents.

    1. Do you believe that any spiritual organization has the right to tell a child *-17* that they will go to hell for being a homosexual.
No. It's inappropriate to use scare tactics like that on children.

    2. Do you believe someone with strong sexual feelings for the same sex can change them ?
I believe in the Kinsey scale, so I do think a lot of people are a little attracted to the sex they don't normally prefer, but I think most people would be painfully unhappy forcing themselves to only be with people they're unattracted to.

    3. If someone were to make your sexual preference illegal. How would you feel about it? Could you change it?
If someone made my sexual preference "illegal", I would move to another country. I don't see how you can really make a preference illegal, though. There are things like sodomy laws, but they're still extremely hard to enforce.

    4. Do children whom know God go to hell for having unclean thoughts *-10
It depends on the religion. Even within Christianity, which I assume you're referring to, there are thousands about thousands of different beliefs and interpretations of this. To the best of my knowledge, most Christian religions believe in something called "the age of understanding", and a child will not be held accountable for their sins before they reach this age.

    5. If all your life you want to have sex with the same sex, but don't out of faith. Do you still go to hell?
Again, different religions and different sects of different religions have vastly different beliefs on this. Even within Christianity not everyone believes in hell.
