Diets don't do much for a lot of people. It's all well and good to sit down and eat a lovely salad, then spend the rest of your day on our ass playing video games, but that won't do anything for you. You need to eat well and exercise often to look and feel good. Same vice versa; if you eat junk and then exercise a lot, you'll get nowhere.
It's a healthy balance. Also, spread your meals out over a day - it's a lot better than having just three meals a day. And drink lots of water - it actually stops you feeling hungry most of the time because you're just dehydrated (Pete already said, so go back and read his post if you haven't already). Planning your meals is good for you and cheaper too - I've noticed if I don't, I end up spending more money than I have to by buying a £2.50 Meal Deal from Tesco in my lunch break. Whereas you could spend £2 on a packet of ham, about £2 on some good seedy bread, another £1 on a salad bag, and you have lunch for the whole week. You're only paying 40% of what you'd usually spend on Meal Deals for the week, and you're cutting out the junk of the chocolate bar or chip packet too.
Quite frankly though, while I could do with some toning up and getting a little fitter, I think I'm okay how I am. When I get a bike, I think I'll do a lot better with losing weight as I rarely eat heavy amounts of junk. If I ride to and from work everyday, I've done easily ten miles a day on a bike if I get a little adventurous with my routes.

I don't think I will begin a diet to lose weight because everyday I have to walk more than 30 for whatever reason and I eat healthily! And plus I'm so lazy ... that it would bore me to only eat vegetables and fruits ... to lose some weights we have to eat healthily, varied and balanced !
There are a lot of things that we have to do if we want to lose weight ... but after all ... we only have one life no ? Carpe diem ( xP ) ! We have to make the most of it ... but reasonably only
Ohh, there is a ferret in my bedroom again...
any of the option don't work alone.
The real way it's eat "balanced" veggies, fruit, water and meat.
do some exerciser, and well, evade the THING they put ya fat normally.
but all of that it depend on the person, in some ones it's make MORE effect but in other it don't affect nothing.
take my example, i lost 20kg in one year...
...
don't do it nothing O_O... yeah, NOTHING. i eat the same thing, and i lost weight... kind weird anyway... but it's feel nice

The goddamn Clint Eastwood don't exercise. I'm inactive, I'm lazy, all I want to do is nothing, and in my spare time, whenever I have spare time, all I do is nothing, and yet, somehow I gain muscle without actually doing anything.
As for a diet, watching your caloric intake, or eliminating certain foods, is completely stupid, and quite frankly, a little gross. I can understand watching what you eat if, say, you're diabetic, or allergic to a certain thing, but apparently people can have the ability to devour any type of food in any amount, and not gain a pound, like me.
The point is, the only key factor to losing weight and staying healthy is to be awesome like me. There is literally no other way I can think of to go about staying healthy, and quite frankly, if you do go about it any other way, there is a 72% chance that you are mentally retarded. Or possibly diabetic.
Though if you can't be awesome like me, then one of the best ways to stay healthy is to get aids. Aids works wonders for weight loss. I swear. You get aids, and in no time, you're 30 lbs lighter.
If you're concerned about how gaming may affect your health, it actually isn't hard to adapt healthier gaming habits without having to cut back if you don't want to. The main problem with gaming (and TV watching, and working in a cubicle...) is that you remain sedentary for long periods of time. Not only does it slow down your metabolism but it greatly increases your chances of having a heart attack over your lifetime.
There are some very easy ways to combat this. The easiest one being to simply game standing up for at least 15 minutes out of every hour. Helps prevent circulation problems and keeps your metabolism from slowing down. If you game/work on a PC, they even make standing desks, or you can make your own. Personally I prefer having the option to sit since I'm on my feet all day at work.
You also don't need hours of exercise every day if you don't have the time to do so. 20 minutes is good enough. Obviously the more intense the better but basically, any exercise is better than none so even a short walk is fine.
If you're actively looking to lose weight and such, obviously you will need to do more, these are just the gamer-related tips I can think of off the top of my head.

Why does the poll only include options on how to lose weight? I don't need to lose weight.
