I was happily browsing facebook when one of my dearest and oldest friends posted a status saying "omg some guy just ended the game "
So as a player of the game i commented "as in THE game?"
and yes i am happy to announce it is finally over after all those years 4chan has ruined our lives with the game!
The only way you could make the game stop was to make a post in /b/ saying "if this post ends in triples then the game is finally over" and what do you know someone did! I was also wondering how many of you played the game :'D

Thank god someone posted this. I've actually known the game has been over for almost the last six months(as per Wikipedia) but it's been way too difficult to explain this to people. It's a little overdue in my opinion. It had a good run and we can start relaxing now.

I didn't know that the game could be ended. I don't even see how that post could "end" the game - random numbers have nothing to do with thinking about the game.

Also, if you think you're playing or not... now that you know about it, one day you're going to think "The Game" and remember it, therefore losing and starting the entire process all over again, no matter how much you tell yourself that you're not playing. I wouldn't say I was playing it any more (unless I want to annoy my friends ), but that doesn't stop me thinking about it at some point - I just don't mention it out loud.
