    fellow martial artists?

As the title implys I'm wondering if there are any fellow martial arts practitioners
if so which style and rank or if your self taught like myself state your inspirations or references

I was deeply interested in martial arts even as a child when I watched my first jackie chan film
legend of the drunken master, after that I watched as many martial arts films I could get my
    grubby little mitts on,
jet li. samo hung. andy lau. chow yun fat. tak sakaguchi. tony jaa. won bin (if you didn't notice he's the guy on the bottom of this post ). donnie yen. robin shu. chuck norris (man those were painful). johnny hallyday. bruce lee (my personal favorite).
and many more. I took a lot of their traits and mixed them together I'm not going to lie to you it was painful
but I don't regret doing it because it's not just an art it's a culture

well that's my story thank you for listening please tell me yours
    on to the thread

I studied Ving Tsun for a little while, there was a free class nearby, my schedule didn't permit me to keep going unfortunately. I enjoy reading about martial art theory more than actually practicing it. Ving Tsun interested me particularly because of Bruce Lee and his famous teacher, Yip Man. Ving Tsun is a particularly interesting art, because it requires virtually no physical strength to use, it's based mostly on finding the most efficient use of the design of the human body. I've always loved the martial arts movies, the anime where they go into great detail about the physics of techniques, I find that all quite interesting for whatever reason.
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.

lol well that's the beauty of this art you require virtually no equipment or supplies to practice it
case in point jackie chan would watch tv with his legs completely straight this way he could tone his leg muscle while watching his favourite movie

I've seen his name spelled both ways, I believe Yip is the more accurate, where Ip is the romanized version. Same guy in any case.

If you have seen Jackie Chan's hong long films such as drunken master and path of the dragon, you would understand how amazingly talented he is. He is overshadowed by the more popular martial artists like Bruce lee, jet li (who is amazing by the way) and various others. If you like samo hung, Andy lao(more of a singer these days =p) Jackie chan and tony Leung, watch island of fire. It features all of them. Great prison film.

then I looked it up and found out I had watched the american version titled the prisoner
it was an okay film though I enjoyed dragons forever more

    Excellent thread, Saio
I was torn between Jackie and Bruce. I chose the latter because I don't think I could deal with random stuff being thrown/boards and pans being set where my fist is going and then of course Jackie might make fun of me and I just couldn't take that
And for some inexplicable reason, I can't picture Tony Jaa agreeing to spar with me - he'd probably prefer an elephant
    ~I'm sorry I haven't been around very much~

I used to study quite a few styles of martial arts when I did amateur MMA fights.

I have a brown belt under Relson Gracie. I am not as into as I used to be, but I still regularly attend his classes whenever I have the chance, and compete in tournies.

I also have a green belt in Kyokushin karate under Phil Clark. Don't get into this as much as I used.

I am self taught in Muay-Thai kickboxing, and standard boxing.

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!
