    Favorite/Least Favorite Teacher?

My least favorite has got to be my current music teacher. She makes us sing baby songs at school prize ceremonies. Dead embarrassing. I don't even have a favorite...

My least favourite is my anthroplogy tutor. We fell out after I revealed that my bookmarking system was based entirely on cigarette papers and that I thought Captain Cook was killed by a pterodactyl. Bint. Revoked my class certificate without telling me (completely illegal), I had to threaten her stupid job to get it back off her. She was extremely nice to me after that, but if I hadn't noticed, I'd have sat the exam and got no mark, and failed first year. I got my Anth results today - 80% pass. A. I turned a Removal of Certificate into a Certificate of Merit. Up you, you dried up hag.

My favourite was my French grammar tutor for this semester, the fittingly nicknamed Bojanic the Insane. Dressed always in maroon cord suits and bowling shoes, her grasp of the English language was as tenous as her grip on reality. 'EEZ IT A PEOPLE, OR A THING? NO, NO, NO! HEETHER MCLEEEELANN, YOU CANNOT TELEPHONE TO THE THING! IT MUST BE A PEOPLE! SUBJECT AND OBJECT ARE THE THINGS AND THE PEOPLE!'

It's a miracle that I passed her course with exemption marks. But she was just so endlessly entertaining. A lot of people left her class because she was completely useless as a teacher, but I couldn't bear to leave her, she was just excellent, endlessly entertaining.

Her explanation of the annoying and often confusing French subjunctive: 'OHHHKAY, DE SUBJECTEEVE. IT IS...OKAY. WHEN I AM TEACHER AND I SAY I AM DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, THIS IS THE SUBJUNCTEEVE. YES?'

She'd go passive agressive on people who answered questions wrong. She pronounced 'verb' as 'WERB' consistently and nobody had the heart to correct her. The last time I saw her she was walking around Kings wearing a floor length coat that appeared to be made of tin foil, her bowling shoes poking proudly from beneath the silver coat and the maroon corduroy flares. I will miss that woman.

All of my tutors were pretty cool.

The scariest, though, was Jeff Lee, my graphic and animation teacher. He and I always got along pretty well and he was really down to Earth, but he was scary in the way that he picked fault in EVERYTHING. Never anything I did, but uh, a lot of the students got yelled at. Haha.

Ha, Least Favorite teacher. That'd have to be my high school World Civ teacher (she was even worse then my chem teacher). I hated my world civ teacher, because, when I had to have a lymph node drained in an emergency procedure, and had been out of school for approxmately 15 days prior to it (these days were spaced apart, and were for doctor's appointments to try to figure out what the hell was wrong with me.) I missed a week of school straight, and she decided to assign a major project and give two tests in a week. I ended up having two days to finish a week and a half long project (failed miserably, ended up doing a tiny portion and turning it in, in a nice binder of course.) and bombing two tests. Thing is, she also bogged me down with extra homework to "get me caught up" but she liked to give me late grades on most of it, since it took me so long, as I had four other classes to play catch up in. She'd also have me miss lunch on several occasions to make up a particularly difficult assignment. I would have failed her class, but I sat down, took the final in 20 minutes, and made a 98, because I missed one question. Ended up with a C+, because I know my history, no thanks to her.

As for my favorite teacher, I have three, but I'll pick the one who taught me the most. That'd have to be my sixth grade science/social studies teacher. his personality, was kind, and generous, yet he demanded nothing less than my best efforts. His classes would cover the stuff that we were required to learn, but the ways he'd go about it were what made it so much fun, and more educational. We'd cover cartography, for instance, and our test would be to draw a book of maps, using everything we learned. He'd hide extra credit in all of his tests, which were the longest I've ever taken (usually 10-13 pages). An example of such would be the cartography test, where if you added time zones, you got an extra 15 points. His projects in class were amazing as well. for instance, to teach the class about a group of somewhat unrelated topics, he'd divide us into groups, and we would create a board game (not a cheesy elementary school bingo type game, but a trivial pursuit, or a full monopoly game on a topic). Also, when I won a harry potter book in a raffle, but couldn't afford a yearbook, he signed, well wrote a short letter in the front cover. He was, without a doubt the best teacher I've ever had.

My favourite teacher was a Science Teacher I had for most of my early high school years. He passed away a few years back, but not before getting me genuinely interested in questioning the things around me. He's also the one who brought up the point that Science can never prove anything.
    Good guy...

My least favourite was my Food Technology Teacher in y11. She was always picking on a few others, and then me when I mentioned it. The truth hurts I guess. I did everything I could to fight her without breaking rules. If she decided to make one person clean up everything on their own after a cooking practical, I'd jump in. If someone forgot something, I offered mine. The way things work here is that more units are needed in y12 than y11. Thanks to that, half her class ended up dropping Food Tech. Too damn bad.

Favourite teacher? Erm, I have a few of those actually. Least favorite? Don't make me go on about it! I definitely have one of those.

My favorite teachers are; my grade 2 teacher, Mrs. Tucker who was a lovely lady and always willing to help people out. She was so kind, she never yelled and was so polite and nice. Unfortunately her son got killed one day many years ago when he went skating, he got hit by a motorbike I believe and that was horrible for her. She does have a daughter though and she is real close with her. She still works at the same school and I was working with her for a while since I was a work experience teacher aide/helper.

Mrs. Spence was a scary teacher who I had in grade 5, she screamed and yelled all the time but she was still a favorite of mine. She usually was nice to me because I was a good student most of the time. She was great and I got to work with her as well in my first year of work experience. She had not changed much either!

Mr. Clark was my English teacher in grade 11/12 I think now and what a teacher he was, I think he is my favorite by far. I learned so much from him and he was just a great teacher, everybody thought that. He spoke more than what we did in writing but we thought it was awesome. He taught us all a lot and I will never forget that.

As for my least favorite teacher, that would be my grade 12 Hospitality teacher, I won't give a name but, she was a real bitch. She had her favorites in the class and I was not one of them. I remember one time when we were cooking apple pie and I didn't bring enough of my own ingredients so I put my hand up, I waited for about 10-15 minutes just for her to come over. I tell her my situation and she goes, 'Well that's too bad, you can't borrow any of the school's ingredients.' Okay, I thought, I'll just stand here and do nothing then. I stood there for most of the lesson and at about ten to one, which was 10 minutes before our lunch break, she comes over and says 'You better grab some ingredients quickly and finish your pie.' WTF? Say that just before lunch why don't you? I had to stay in at lunch for a while and do it, my friend helped me thank God.

There was this other time when I put my hand up when I wanted help cutting a cake I made, a fruit cake, I didn't know where to cut exactly. I put my hand up and had it up for about ten to fifteen minutes again, she ignored me and helped other people instead. My friend called out to her for me and she came over and told me to do it myself.

Another time we had this function we had to do for Melbourne Cup day and someone had turned the gas on for the ovens or some shit, she took us into the back room and told us whoever did it should stop. SHE LOOKED AT ME THE WHOLE TIME. I didn't do it, why would I? I have better things to do.

She was a real cow and I despise her very much so. She stressed me out and I wanted to leave the class, I didn't, I stuck through. Haha I remember the last exam I had with her, I DIDN'T GO! I was thinking 'Stuff that' and stayed home. I probably failed but you know what? I wouldn't give a damn. Oh and yeah, she made a girl I know cry because that's how bitchy she was.

Sorry for the horribly long post but that women is just a terrible teacher. There were other situations but I won't go into those.

Ohhh I remember the good ole school days like they were yesterday...

I had two favorite teachers that I liked a great deal going through high school. I was a really shy young kid who never said much to anyone. I was very reserved and whatnot, until I met my first year spanish teacher back in my sophomore year of high school. Not only did I learn a great deal from her, everything from the classroom to the fellow students had lots of jive and animation, and it was primarily her that got me to break out of my "shell" and really experience high school by interacting with people, the world, the teachers and everything else. I think without taking her spanish years one and three from her, I don't think I would be near as good as a test-taker, negotiator, or even as wise and as cognitive as a person.

My other favorite teacher was my British Literature teacher I had while I was a senior in high school. From her I really got to enjoy a wide variety of literature that without taking her class, I would never have been exposed to. She was very laidback and easy going, especially with the seniors, which is almost necessary since seniors are all college bound and their last year is more or less what they make it (most make it a cakewalk, I was no exception! ). I was able to really be myself in that class, almost as if the classroom was TFF and I could share whatever I felt like to everyone in the class.

As for least favorite teachers, I guess I really never had a least favorite, or one that I really didn't like. For some reason (I think it was due to my spanish teacher loving to talk about me to her fellow colleagues), even if I didn't care for the teacher or had few prior experience or knowledge with him/her, they seemed to relate to me and/or even take it a bit easier disciplinary-wise then anyone else in the class and we almost become close friends of some sort.

I don't think I had a Fav teacher. Just ones I could stand to be around. Some were nice, some were good teachers, but I can't label one as a fav.

Had a lot of terrible teachers.
It's either between my Band teacher or my Business teacher as a least fav.

Band teacher threw my trumpet across the room cuz I wasn't good at it. I couldn't read music back then either which pissed him off. Should have took up the violin, string had a different teacher.

Business teacher was racist and changed my grade to fail me in one class. She tried to again in another class I had with her, but caught her in the act. lol I probably could have got her fired, but I didn't push it further then a guidance counselor.

Hmm, favourite teacher since I did bad teacher last time.

My favourite would be my portraits tutor Sara. She just got my style and everything, and was willing to except any piece of my work, no matter how abstract or strange. She was so awesome, but he left after I defurred, so I won't see her again next time...

    Haha, nice thread!

My least favourite teacher is... I'm stuck between 2... My Maths teacher, and my Drama teacher. Firstly, my Maths teacher can't teach. Just because she is excellent at Maths, she expects everyone to. She shouts at people when they get things wrong, and she is just so... lets just say its her own fault she gets high blood-pressure. My Drama teacher... I took Drama at GCSE level because I wanted to become more confident - 2 maybe 3 years ago I was as shy as a tiney mouse. I thought Drama would push me to be more confident, and I knew that my teacher knew that I wasn't confident, and I'm sure she still wonders why I picked Drama. She is RUDE! Drama is supposed to bring confidence into people - her own words, not mine - yet she made everyone feel like sh*t. She shouted at my group just because we couldn't get timeings right in our drama exam piece! WE WERE WORKING ON IT!!! After the exam, she told us she thought my group was crap, and that it was messy, and terrible. It made us feel sad, and it had taken ever ounce of confidence we DID have to get up on the stage and perform to the LEAD EXAMINER IN THE UK!!!

My favourite teacher has got to be my tutor, Mrs Matthews! She is lovelly, and is always cheerful. She is funny, and really down-to-earth. I think Mrs Matthews understands people more than they do themselves, and thats cool...

    Wow, where to start....

Throughout my gradeschool years I never had a teacher I disliked until I hit the point where my K-8 school did this half-assed Jr. High thing, where 6th 7th and 8th graders share teachers. I hated the 8th grade teacher, she was a fuping ****.

7th Grade I wasn't big on eating meats... and I was failed in Home Ec because I refused to eat any of the product we cooked, so the teacher told me not to cook any, thus failing me for no class participation....

In my Freshman year I hated my Frosh English teacher, and failed his class because I hated him.

In my Soph year I hated my Global Lit teacher because the bitch was late for class DAILY. I also hated my Geometry teacher in that year.

Junior year.... my American History teacher was a racist **** and I couldn't stand him (He was black, racist @ whites, got into lots of fights with him)

Senior year... I liked all my teachers, more or less. My favorite teacher from all of K-12th grade was my English Lit teacher in my senior year... She was the most dedicated teacher I'd ever had in my life. When shit hit the fan for me and I was told I wouldn't be graduating w/o summer school, I didn't go to school for the last month and a half with the intention of getting my GED in the summer. When I went in to settle my account she FORCED me to take my final exam just so that I would at least earn a D in her class.

Oh, actually, all through K-12 the teacher I hated the most was my Adv. Programming teacher senior year. I'd skip her class constantly to sleep in, because the class was structured in lecture/practice - program assignment, and we'd have so many class periods to write the program. I was rarely given an assignment I didn't complete in one, and if I didn't I'd finish it over lunch in the library and save it on my network drive, then skip whatever days for her class that I didn't need to go to. Grades-wise I had an A, but she failed me anyways for lack of showing up, and would call my mom on days I wasn't there, when my parents knew I was home, and why I was. I always found it funny.

First semester of college I hated my Global Civilization teacher because he, too, was a black racist and his teaching style was TERRIBLE. I passed his class with a C, but our grades were all based off of 3 test scores and 4 homework assignments, for an entire semester.

Second semester of college I met the teacher I've hated the most to this day, my Food Preparation Practical I/II teacher, which was my first Culinary Lab. He's some 50+ year old washed up chef who couldn't handle the stress anymore, has an attitude, is terrible at teaching, and basically dicked us around a lot in the class. I loved how I was paying to take a class to wash dishes that were left over from a catered event the school did over the weekend. I'm pretty sure I do that on a daily basis for my job, which I get PAID to do.

I dropped his class, and subsequently the entire semester due to time constraints, and I haven't gone back to school yet.

One of my Finnish teachers. She treatsus all like kids and is very condecending(sp?). She always talks about the most random boring things over and over again. Like how some parts surrounding the city I live in are becoming a part of the city.

Perhaps my favourite teacher ever was my psychology teacher. Imagine a crazy scientist/professor, now imagine that its a woman, crazy hair and everything!! Shes a bit insane as well. We once paid her to eat some chalk and she did! Not to meantion the times shes broken the rules and helped us cheat in exams^^
