Ever moved country?

I moved from Illinois to Georgia, then from there to Wisconsin. It's kind of like a different country. And I guess I "moved" to Iraq and back twice, but I dunno if we could count those.

I think I'd be alright with a massive culture change like that, honestly. I mean, the language change I wouldn't be good with, seeing as I'm only fluent in one language, but otherwise I think I'd be alright. I've moved around a lot, and I've learned how to adjust quickly and adapt to new situations -- so it'd probably be weird for a week or two, but after that, it would just become more and more interesting, exploring a culture that I'm not used to.

I've moved around a lot in my lifetime too, and to be honest I had almost no trouble adapting to life in France. I fell in love with it the day I arrived, when two lovely colleagues came to get me and made me feel so unbelievably welcome. And they cook like gods. Only trouble I've had is with Mrs. Rent, my landlady, who speaks the local dialect (which is half-German) at about 500mph. But even she had me round for dinner.

The thing that's getting me is that I feel I don't miss home enough. I know feelings aren't like balloons, you can't measure how they shrink or grow; but I just can't help thinking that something is missing. Maybe I'll understand it once I'm home. I leave for my train to Aberdeen in 10 hours.

James, for the love of God, don't move to Cardiff. Wales is a shithole, and they don't speak English there. Drunk women get naked in the streets of every single British city every single weekend. Don't limit your choice.
