Do you think this forum should open a soccer section?
Or sport section in general?
There are many sport fans here in this forum and I believe this can make a great addition.

Errrr why just a "Sports" section covering up not just soccer but baseball, lacrosse, swimming, wrestling, and other sports? That wouldn't be a bad idea to be honest. Then agan, I'm not a mod or admin. -_-

No I don't. They could open up a general sports section but not just soccer because not every body likes it. I sure don't any way.. >_< I prefer Rugby League, Cricket and Tennis. If there was a sports section then I could discuss all of that. Can't it just be discussed in GC any way? That's where the other sports threads go. There's nothing wrong with talking about it here.

I don't think there's enough sports talk on here to really warrant a sports section. For the times it does come up, it can just go into GC. Actually, if I remember correctly, this same topic has come up before, long ago. I think in the end it was more or less agreed that GC is fine enough for sports talk.

Either that or I need to get more sleep. =P But no, I don't think we really need a sports section. And definitely not just a soccer/football section. And this is beside the fact that I have no interest in any sports. I just don't think it's warranted.

i could go either way on this one, and i could care less if it actually happened. but it is a good idea seeing that this is a game site and by all technical means all of the above sports are "games".
but i do think that GC is still a great place to post sports related topics, only prob being is they tend to fall off the map after a week or so.

I don't think it should. Not because I dislike sports, but because the few football/sports posts that are made here are done in general chat. And... uh... general chat IS general chat, which can cover anything that doesnt belon in one of the other forums. There is a lot of sports fans here, although sports happen in seasons, and even then there isn't an extraordinary amount of sports-related threads. I don't think a football/sports forum would really make any difference, although I could be mistaken.

A sport section would be a good idea. I'd defiantly contribute to that - Football, Rugby, F1, primarily. As Meier Link said, sport topic have tended to fall off the scope fairly quickly (even i've noticed that, and i've been here less than a week......)

Come to think of it, why isn't there one anyway?

Actually, i'm surprised myself that there is none to date. Sure this is a gaming forum, and that most people here live on the internet, if not on their consoles, but there are a few who enjoy sports while having a gaming life. I'm the latter, so i give my full support to opening a section up.

As for some reasons why...

1) If we post in GC, the posts don't appear because of other useless threads. So the theads decay, going down the list.
2) A sports section could incite some to join.
3) We have separate forums for, music, animation, TV and movies, literature, art and etc....yet no sports?

I dunno, i'm not a mod or anything...but this could work...

We've tried sports sections before, and they always ended up empty after a couple of weeks. There's really only a large amount of sports buzz during the playoffs of any given sport (most of the time).

I wouldn't be opposed to trying a sports section again, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's dead 90% of the year. I have noticed an upward trend of sports threads lately, so it could be worth a shot.


Of course, there are plenty of other sections that are dead most of the time as well, so... heh.

I don't see the need of a sports section... However, that's because;

1. I personally don't enjoy sports.
2. The only time there are sports threads is when like Cesar said, a big sports event happening.

I'm indifferent to this also, because it wouldn't be me using it. I'm sure others might find some thrill in it.

GC is more or less dead compared to 7 years ago, when we had a fraction of the people we do now. Adding more and more forums for word games and jokes and all that shit just takes away from general chat, which was one of the major staples of everyone coming here. Sports are great, but you can talk about them in GC.

You don't need a sports section, thats why there's a general chat section for things like this. And honestly besides football (american football) there's nothing else I would talk about and many other members as well agree. So no need for a sports section.

I don't think there's a need for one really. Every now and then, during random sports' seasons, some members put up threads about games or things that happened in the General Chat area. It's been working well enough the way things are, so that extra forum wouldn't have much purpose. I'm sure some people would post in it, but I don't care much either way.

If one is made, it'll be a nice place for sport lovers. If one isn't, they can gather here. I don't post in those threads though, so it doesn't matter to me.

Most of the people here are lazy-asses and don't do sports anyways..
But yeah can do in GC, we've had clubs etc. in the past but they just died off fast.

Even though soccer is my favorite of all sports, I chose no. The reason is because I think a whole forum should be dedicated to sports, with a couple-few threads about soccer. Thar's mai 2 cents.

Personally I wouldn't mind it but I wouldn't lose sleep over it if there wasn't one. It's only because I spend a limited time on here so chances are sports threads I'm interested in are dead by the time I get around to them. Having said that though, the same would happen if we had a section regardless.

Being quite a sporty person outside of my gaming universe I would be happy if one was made, I do watch and play quite a lot so I'm sure I could fill a few threads in, but I'm also happy if things stay the same.
