I learned Ty-Ga Karate when I was a young teen. I did it for about a year, but it was getting really expensive (Like, £7 a lesson for both me AND my brother, and we'd have one or two lessons a week) and my mum didn't really like the whole "worship the sensei" thing that was going on. I went up three belts, and I was expecting my fourth by the time I left, so I know enough.
I did boxing as an after school thing at my youth club. I went to two lessons with a friend, but when I realised that all she wanted to do was use it to show off and impress people at school, I stopped. It shouldn't really be about that.
At school in my last year, the PE department hired people to teach us kick boxing. Which was fun. The trainer said he wouldn't want to feel my right hook and uppercut without a pad infront of him lol. I was pretty good at that, and I was going to start going to the lessons they hold at a local SPACE (a large, indoor "space" for various sporting activities), but not enough people from the school wanted to do extra classes, so the price went up.
Other than that, my evil side lashes out relentlessly if I'm REALLY pissed off. It takes a lot for me to get to that stage. Call it nerd rage. People didn't like getting into fights with me at school after one tiff in the PE block. I don't really walk down the street expecting to use it though. If I need to use my epic skillz, I will. And I try to avoid situations when it looks dangerous - I don't go looking for a fight.
