Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

    I'm curious.
And why do you have them in your opinion.
Almost everybody has a health ailment.

    List of mine.

    Mental Disorders

Schizotypal- Maybe from genetics and aggravated due to bullying.

    Physical health

Underweight by 20 lbs, tho body build hides it well.- I am emetophobic which is fearful of vomiting, so i slowed down eating, which caused stomach problems and loosing 75 lbs in all, putting me in a critical state of health. Doctors said any more weight lost and a comatose state was next.

Temporamandibular joint dysfunction(TMJ)- Hard time opening mouth, a painful clicking noise and locking of the jaw. I got kicked really hard during Kyokushin. Apparently, my jaw suffered a malunion(sp) because I didn't know it was fractured.

Hamstring tear grade 1- I was playing around kicking but I hadn't stretched. Really painful but it is a good thing i didn't array my gait.

Possible Illuim slip- My hamstring pain was my upper hamstring, next to my glut, and the pain is more than 12 weeks in.

Acetabular labral tear- My hip locks in certain rotations. No idea how it started, but it has to be from Kyokushin

Peptic ulcers- When i stopped or slowed down eating, my stomach shrunk, apparently, that caused ulcers which is hard to fathom.

ACL injury(new)- I hyper extended my leg during a low sidekick, when I bent my knee, it froze and the pain was vast. Going to several doctors tomorrow for a full evaluation.

Your pathetic existence will shut down. I will make your lives end in ruin. Fear me, as you fear death. Not a threat, not a promise, but what must be finished. 7 final arcs...

man o0Odin0o...i should never complain about being a sore after waking up in the morning.

umm...i (finally) got diagnosed with clinical depression when i was 20. after talking to my psychiatrist in college, we realized that it probably surfaced around the time i was 10. as for taking care of it, i needed meds at first but now ive found other ways to kick its butt when it surfaces.

    other than that im "normal"

Nope, nothing's wrong with me, except that I can be both Narcissistic and an asshole. Other than that, I tore my ACL about 4 years ago, but I rehabbed that at the gym and am 100% in that department now.

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

I had asthma as a kid, but that went away. I had an underdeveloped trachea as a baby and couldn't hold down food, which almost killed me, but I got better. I had a herniated disc in my back two years ago, but I fixed it. Other then that, my only health defects are extremely bad sinuses, which that's a common Delaware trait, and slight allergies.

As for mental disorders, I used to suffer from anxiety issues, but then I decided to not give a shit, and it went away.

I had some pretty bad asthma as a child. Over the years though it kinda just went away. Ehh I have tore my acl in a pick-up game of basketball. It wasn't to bad a little time off of it, then some rehab I was good to go. I am slightly bipolar, it isn't bad though, and is rarely noticeable.

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

I'm short sighted and a little skinny. Though the latter is due to an active metabolism and good exercise.

When I get a blood test, I'm reported to have low iron. I'm not allowed to donate blood. However in actuality my iron is fine, but my body diesn't produce enough haemoglobin to transport the optimum amount of iron to where and when it is needed. It's not major, but it gives me weak versions of the symptoms of iron deficiency.

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

Im pretty lucky in that all that is wrong with me is that I am very short-sighted and that I have a heart murmur, or an eptopic heartbeat to be more precise. The shortsightedness can be a nuisance as without glasses or contacts objects are just one big vague blur. But I am used to that by now. The eptopic heartbeat is quite a nuisance as my bpm is about 60-62 compared to the normal average of 72. So I cannot overexcert myself playing sports which limits my partipication. It has also led to low blood pressure regularly which is, frankly, a b*tch.

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

I've been diagnosed with several neurological conditions, some of which I've noticed have similar symptoms. Because of this I'll just mention the things I notice in myself:

    - An inability to keep my attention on the vast majority of things (unless I have a real passion for them)
    - Terrible memory
    - Poor fine motor skills

Brain scans have shown I have abnormalities of the left temporal lobe, what this effects exactly I know not.

Talking physical shit I have a three and a half inch scar on my stomach (nice and deep too), a smaller scar on top of my head which has given me a second part in my hair, my right pinky can bend to the side like an 'L' and I have really weak skin which is funny as the rest of me is quite durable.

I have a slight dent in my cornea, in other words I suffer from astigmatism. It runs in my father's side of family, nothing serious, though it can be bitch to see without the glasses.

I had narrow nostril channels for quite some time, it was hard to breathe sometimes, especially when I would lay down, as I got older issue got solved by itself.

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

I'm diagnosed with ADHD (but who isn't these days lawl) and I'm really susceptible to pink eye, so I don't really wear contacts all that much. I'm sure from growing up back if I was properly checked/diagnosed, I would of had an anxiety/home PTSD as well but thats just from speculation I'd say.

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

Ahh. I too am emetophobic. We have a few ideas about where it's come from. I was sick a lot when I was a child. I caught the vomiting bug three times, and my brother once puked all over me in his sleep, and I spent that night sleeping on the sofa in the freezing cold due to lack of sleeping bag. I also have a weak stomach, so that might scare me even more. All I have to do is see someone make a gagging notion or sounds, and my gag reflex twangs. Sometimes even when someone talks with their mouthful, I feel it.

I also suffer from claustrophobia. I can keep that under control though, so I can still get in lifts and such. If I feel for one second I'll get trapped, then I'll panic though. If there's too many people in the lift too, I have to be near the door so I can make a quick escape. Cars are the same sort of, but I'm okay if the window is open a bit.

I have OCD too, but it's fairly mild. I don't run around covering things in bleach and cling wrap. I have the need to wash my hands a lot, especially if an unknown substance gets on them. That said, I try not to touch anything that's not my own, or touch as little of it as possible. Like poles/railings on buses and door handles. I also don't like finger prints on screens/monitors or shiny objects. You know... like my PSP or DS. So I polish them after use. Thing is though, doesn't matter if your hands are dry or greasy, finger prints smear when you try and get rid of them. ><

Every now and then, I'll slink into a phase of depression, but it's never really been diagnosed or if it's something that should be looked at or taken seriously. I saw my friend's therapist once who put it down to lack of fresh air and crap, but I discovered that to be unhelpful. I don't think it's bipolar or anything - there's always a reason(s) for the mood change, and loads of it built up over time that finally drowns me and provokes a reaction. I'm probably just really bad at opening up, or I struggle to find a moment to talk, or someone to open up with. It doesn't help that the world and its mother come to me with their problems all the time either. Anyway, sometimes this last for a day or two, sometimes over a week.

As for medical stuff? I don't think so. According to a BMI, I am slightly overweight but I don't really look like it. I also have had some knee problems. I used to play sports a lot when I was at school, and then just... stopped. Apparently, that's not very good, and the only cure is to forever keep exercising basically. Or, that's what it sounded like when my doctor was telling me about this condition.

EDIT: Oh. I'm also prone to dry skin on my hands and scalp in winter. I have no idea why it effects only those areas. It's a downside to living in a cold climate, so moisturising is a must. ><

I have terrible eye sight and wear glasses when I'm looking at something from afar. I'm on a waiting list for the surgery, so hopefully that will fix the problem. Other then that, I get a stomach cramp occasionally, which I heard runs in the family

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

I may have a slight depression or something stress related coming on, but not sure yet. I actually have an appointment coming up to see a mental health worker about the way I've been feeling/not coping lately, so we will see what she thinks.
The reason why I've been referd to her, is because I have had a depression problem years which was really bad, I had to go to therpy, was on some kind of anti-depressents, and also had a a few failed (obvisusly) OD attempts. Which is why I've been referred to the mental health worker, better to nip things in the bud now before I lose control like the last time.

I also think I may be a little OCD, my mum pointed out to me, I always presumed I was just a tad weird. It's nothing huge, just little things, such as I can't bare to make skin contact to a bin, I have to rinse my hands otherwise I can still feel thats the "touch" is there, and often if I bump or touch part of myself against something, I have to do it to the otherside to even it out a bit, and I also have developed a bad habbit of puhing my front door, to check it's locked (even though I can cleary see that it is) just to satisfy the twitch I have to do. If I ignore a bin touch or don't check my door I get very twitchy and will constantly think about it, to me it's like having a bad itch and trying not to scratch it.

Oh and I'm short sighted too

Re: Do you have any Health defects or mental disorders?

I have hypothyroidism, which means the thyroid gland which opeates the metabolism, does not function properly. This gives me a slow metabolism and a tendancy to gain a lot of weight. Along with not being able to exercise lately due to my busted leg, and my 'addiction' to fast food (working at Macs does not help!) I have gained a bit since last Christmas. A thyroid function test showed that I wasn't getting enough thyroxine (the replacement hormone I have to take) so they upped my dosage, and I have lost a little more weight, which is a relief. I totally need to get back to the gym, but it's frustrating when my ankle hurts after a six hour shift.

I'm also very short-sighted, and can hardly see a thing without them. :/
