Do You Floss?
Nope, but I do brush my teeth 2 to 3 times a day to make up for it
Wow, and I thought 3 times a day was badI usually brush my teeth like five times a day
I usually brush my teeth like five times a day because, I hate when my mouth taste nasty or when my teeth don't feel smooth, it bothers me. I hardly floss anymore though because even when I try to be careful, I always end up cutting my gums :s I always get yelled at by my dentist too XD I use a lot of Listerene to try and make up for it lol
So do you floss often like we're supposed to?

I don't do it everyday. It's more like every other day. I also have to use a special kind of floss, because I have a permanent retainer on my lower set of teeth, and regular floss won't go through the metal. I have to get the kind that has a plastic tip on one of the ends, or I could invest in some threaders.
I like the mint floss.
Somewhat related: If you brush your teeth that many times a day, make sure that you're gentle. You don't want your gums to recede and expose the roots of your teeth. It's also possible to brush away the enamel that's there to protect your teeth. I personally would just rinse my mouth out if it's feeling a bit yucky, but that's just me.

Brushing a lot is bad I hear.

Yeah, I'm just too clumsy with the ol' floss...

I've been flossin' forever.
Every day. I don't like stuff in my teeth, and I don't feel completely fresh and clean at night if I don't floss. My gums are tough and healthy and my dentist loves me.
Curious?

I brush my teeth twice a day. Once when I wake up and once before I go to bed. After I brush them with toothpaste I dip my toothbrush in peroxide then brush them with it. Once I do that I floss for three minutes. Next I rinse with mouthwash. This routine has kept my teeth in perfect condition...
I don't do it, but I guess I should.

Block flossed with my pubes last night.
I don't floss, but I brush twice a day and use those little toothpicks with the bristles on the other side. It gives me a cleaner feeling than flossing does.

I don't floss often. I brush my teeth two to three times a day (morning, before bed and sometime during the day when I get home from college), and rarely get anything 'noticeable' stuck between my teeth. I can't stand leaving the house without brushing - even if I leave multiple times. There's nothing worse than talking to someone when they have dirty teeth/bad breath, and so I take the time so that's not the case with whoever I might end up talking to.
When I brush my teeth, I make a thorough job of it. I do the front, top and then the back of my teeth, then go over everything quickly again for good measure. Then I clean my tongue with the back of the brush, and then wash my mouth out with water or mouthwash (depends if we have any mouthwash, really). If I'm not satisfied, I'll floss or brush them again.
So, no need for floss that often. I like the minty ones too, Dodie. ^^
Oh yeah. Brushing too much, or pressing too hard with the toothbrush wears the enamel down, which not only makes the tips of your teeth a cloudy colour, but can expose some sensitive nerve endings (which is a real pain if you like sugar, hot drinks and ice-cream). Drinking too much carbonated drinks and juices can do that too... so drinking through straws is better for you too.
Because I usually go to sleep at a late time, I tend to not floss my teeth because I just want to hurry up and go to bed. But if I'm going to sleep at an earlier time than I usually do, I floss my teeth.
I'm not a big fan of flossing, really, so maybe once or twice a day? I can stand having some food stuck in my food because I really don't feel it, at all. xD Still, I try to floss every day if I can, just because it's good for my teeth. Still, I brush me teeth carefully, but they're not sparkling white. Maybe I should take better, better care of my teeth? <.<

Teeth are naturally supposed to look a bit "off-white", and will continue to get a bit on the more dingy side as we grow older. It's just how it is. Teeth whiteners are just another way that people combat the aging process, to look younger. Nothing wrong with that, but I do think that some people take whitening to the extreme to where their teeth look really unnatural to me.

Nope. I forget to brush sometimes too.
Can someone explain to me how to floss without making my gums bleed? even when I want to floss it never turns out good :s
Somewhat random topic of discussion o.O
I don't floss, I use a waterpick to get rid of the stuff between the teeth. I feel cleaner after that than after flossing. Not to mention I've never managed to cut my gums with a waterpick. Of course that doesn't mean I won't find a way, I'm the most accident prone person I know.

@ Gypsy- I think it's normal for your gums to bleed a bit if you haven't been properly flossing. Just be gentle, and keep up with the flossing, and eventually your gums will "toughen up" and get healthier and tighter so they won't bleed when you floss. Just make sure that you don't "pop" the floss when you do it. Gently scrape the sides of your teeth to remove the plaque that builds up in there.
