    Cardinal's taste like chicken

As a supervillain, I can verify that cardinals do indeed taste like chicken, but they taste even better after powdered cans of KICKASS are thrown into the mix.

Seriously though, why isn't anyone talking about how badly the Steeler's just OWNED the Cardinals? I was literally going batshit like I was on coffee with what happened within that chaotic nexus they call Superbowl 43! I mean when James Harrison (my new hero btw) made the INTERCEPTED-100 YARD-TD RUN I about exploded with awe.

Cardinals played an awesome game though. Your thoughts?

I was rooting for the Cardinals, but the Steelers deserved the win. They are a complete team, and they have to be in the conversation to repeat, competing against the Patriots with the return of Tom Brady.

But anyone calling the Steelers victory anything but close is not knowledgeable about football. "Owned" and "kicked ass" do not make any sense whatsoever.

Yeah, I always was a bigger fan of actually playing sports. There's just something I find boring and unappealing about watching over an hour of men running around.

Only doable if there's something else to hold my attention. Usually requiring either interaction or just interest on my part.

    "OWNED"?

They won by a single touchdown, that, sir, is not "OWNED" The Cardinals lost that with Warner's turnover and they couldn't stop the 100 yard return and the 100 yards they gave up in penalties. Warner completely outplayed Roflberger.

I was rooting for the Cardinals the whole time, they are a former St. Louis team led by St. Louis' former superbowl winning QB.

Ben Roflberger is going be the only ****ing QB talked about for the next season and how he's up there with Favre, Manning (Payton), Brady, ect as one of the "great QBs of our time." If you look at his passing yards in the game, they were horrible. He rarely passes, and when he does they are hardly more than 10 yard throws.

That no huddle march that Warner pulled off in the 4th with a 100% pass completion is something Roflberger could never hope to accomplish. That pass to Larry Fitzgerald for a 50+ yard run for a touchdown was also something Roflberger could never read the field well enough to pull off.

His offensive line won the game, and that, sir, is boring football. Make a hole, pound 5 yards, make a hole, pound 5 yards, rinse repeat, touchdown, do it again.

    That's ****ing boring football.

Yes, Steelers OWNED the Cardinals. Wonderfully worded, Val. It was pretty awesome to see that tank of a guy run that 100. He was truly amazing.

Steelers won, and they deserved it. There's really nothing else to say otherwise. I wouldn't mind going to a Superbowl game, it looks a lot of fun. As Nathan said, though, I prefer playing in sports than watching them.

    Here's what I can't figure out.

In a game-breaking play like those last five seconds, how could they NOT review it?

I still think the Cards got cheated out of their final play. It probably wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game, but I wouldn't be so bloody pissed about it if they had at least taken the time to look. If we could spend six hours reviewing a (very nice) touchdown by the Steelers made by having two toes barely tap the ground, we could review a damn turnover. Seriously.

I actually saw some of this. What a cluster**** of a game. It's just loads of men jumping on each other, but they wear all this protective stuff that hides their bodies, which about defeats the purpose. Rugby is how it should be done. Why do they stop all the time? There were more breaks than gameplay.

You guys should tune in to the Six Nations. It starts soon. A giant rugby tournament between Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy. My Lord, do they look good on the pitch.

Yeah I'm with Cesar on this, and Sean...a win's a win, so take what you can get. Still I hear how the touchdown with the tippy toes is equal to Eli's throw last year? HA I think not, when you're getting pulled by 3 guys, somehow shuffle in the middle, throw with that much pressure and have the guy catch it over head with Rodney HGH Harrison trying to strip it from you? I'll see you there.

I like Mike Tomlins, so I'm happy for him...that's about it. Still people made the game like it was devastation and it was far from that.

Overall I don't understand why they kept trying to bring the Blitz on Big Ben on his final drive. I understand it before midfield, but we all know Cards have shit D. Plus they didn't sack him too much in the game, and he's a big dude so a little hit to the leg he can ward off. Drop back in Dime, play some cover 2, with 6 backs on the field in their best case they could throw screens, which with how the clock was being managed would have set them up for most likely a field goal if a turn over didn't happen. They obviously can't play man since they're lacking, so might as well play some form of zone coverage. Either way if they lost in OT I could have accepted it a little more.

Poor Warner I wanted to see him make another stand...

Although the game was still a fun one to watch, I thought it was plagued with too many fouls on both teams. I'm still a little upset the Steelers won with all the unnecessary roughness plays that they were doing. You guys are all grown men out there, control yourselves plx.

The drives and momentum that the Cards had was very intense and fun to watch, and it kept me glued to my seat until I saw the anti-climatic ending to the game, lols. One thing I must say is that Ben Rothlesburger's line is extremely good. Many a time I've been watching the Cards blitz and pressure Big Ben, but his line gave him all the time in the world to throw his passes, which ended up getting the win for the Steelers. Besides the whole last play spiel that I have, both teams played well and the Cards shouldn't be upset with the way they played football at the superbowl this year.

On a side note, Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" for best superbowl halftime song ever? And what was up with the Steelers's Owner thanking President Obama? I didn't see him out on the fields anywhere.

Does it matter that I pretty much have no idea what you're talking about, except that the superbowl is some sort of sport type thing in America (maybe baseball or that thing you call football?)

Quite frankly it all sounds rather silly and overhyped, I was also annoyed that it was shown over here at about 11pm. What's the point,it's not our sport.

British sports are far superior to American ones anyway

What's the point of posting in a thread about your thoughts on the recent Superbowl game when you either haven't seen the game or dislike American football? I've counted 4 now. It's like going to a comic book convention just to tell people that comics suck or that you don't read comics. Surely you have hobbies.

The Cardinals were outplayed for most of the game, but I wouldn't say that they were owned. I was rooting against them because I enjoy watching those "great football journeys" crushed. The same reason I rooted against New England last year.

    Until now!

This. My thoughts exactly. I called two of my friends immediately after to let off some steam about it. No, giving the Cards the ball back with 5 seconds left does not give them much chance to get in the endzone. However, there was a chance, and an even better one than they had the play before, given that the one Steeler player took his helmet off, drawing the 15 yard penalty that would have put them on the 30 yard line. With Warner and Fitzgerald, that is VERY doable.

And what about this punk Harrison? What about that image of him standing over that Cardinal player, pushing him back down, then like either slapping or punching him in the back and dancing over him, clear as day, on national television? What should have gotten him kicked out of the game-it instead simply resulted in a 15 yard penalty-will likely result in a sizeable fine (I hope.)

Still, it was a fun game. I just wish it hadn't ended like that. That pissed me off. Anyhoo...
