He dropped by a few times in recent years/months... most of the time he's over at our old rival FFImpulse (now called Empyron). Still as cool as ever last time I spoke to him.Quote:

I like how this thread has brought all the old men out of our lurkin holes, any one down for some shuffleboard or bridge..
I like TFF.
I was never really the most controversial member or the most active. So when people think "old TFF," I'm usually not the first name to come up. But I was there. Since 2002, but I really became active (for me, anyway) in 2003. My first RP was with Uno and Anarchy. I think Vivi joined in too.
I joined because Viper and my brother Omnislash9999 told me I would enjoy it. I went to school with Viper from 4th grade to the end of high school, and well... I see my brother all the goddamn time. So eventually, I got curious and joined.
Viper invited me to the old AIM chat one day, and that's really why I became active. I had a hard time getting to know people through posts, so the chatroom made people become real for me. And after that, Anarchy kept inviting me back when Viper wasn't around.
And then... (this was so retarded, but I'll admit to doing it) I got a little more attention when I was all, "This is me and my friend in our swimsuits! We made ice cream and then went swimming today hooray look at us!"
15 year olds like attention. I'm still a little embarrassed by that now.
But still, a few more people remembered me after that. "Oh, OceanEyes. You're the chick in the swimsuit, right?" Yes.
And now I'm 19. Before I know it, I'll be 20. And that's weird. There are just people here that I've grown up with. I wasn't best friends with every single person I remember, but I was always interested in watching people mature on this forum.
And watching Cesar climb the staff ladder. Jesus.
Oh, and I would love to be in a TFF chat with older members. I don't care where it is. AIM, MSN, it doesn't matter. If we could only pick a time when we collectively have nothing better to do...
Aye, we really should arrange that. I really miss those times. I remember one Summer when we were all addicted to the TFF chat. I'd be on it for like... 4 hours a day. That was the Summer when I had nothing else to do and nobody was around, so shamefully the TFF chat was my main social interaction of the time.Quote:

Heck, anybody remember when we all started talking to eachother via teamspeak?
not only that, I remember Nightshade having organized TFF Dungeons and Dragons through the AIM Chat... thanks to the //roll command it was easy to do that sort of stuff.
ill be sitting in the TFF Chat room if anybody wants to snag me
I'm technically an older member here, just very few people liked me much when I first came around here (and I REALLY don't blame most of you) - I was a complete idiot back then, under the name - originally Cloud the One, and eventually into my more settled down and permanent name Cetra Cloud. I had the worst typing skills ever - and holy shit if there were ever a person who literally blind folded his mind with the bible it was me, but hell - that was all a long while ago, I think I first joined here sometime in 2001.
I remember leaving for a good year or so - but then came back like a childish idiot to troll the place, eventually got myself banned for the shit I did, then came back like - a year later and made an account under the name of Sir David (which is this account) - and never really used it until I noticed there were a bunch of like minded individuals in the music board.
Man, what a long hard road to get me here. 11 to 17, what a fucked up journey haha.
Cetra Cloud? Holy shit, weren't you the kid that I got hooked on 311 way back in the day? I swear that name sounds painfully familiar.
Well, I'm leaving myself in the TFF Chat for a while, so if anybody comes in, don't be too shy to holla :)
Me n Syd were saying... we just need to invite everybody on our online buddy list into the room when we're on. Just like old times :D
Haha, yeah. I still remember the scenario quite well in which you got me into them.Quote:

Haha. We are chatting right NOW.
S, Neo, Piro, Uno, Anarchy, and meeee.
First chat I've been a part of for... probably almost a year. It's super swell. And I'm such a nerd for wanting to postpone movie plans so I can talk more.
And good lord. I remember Cetra Cloud. Yeah, you're really different now.
And yes! Teamspeak. What an amusing time of talking. That experience pretty much blew my mind.
I sense that the chat will restore a lot of the lost splendor of this site.
I remember all the old school chats where me and Cloud711 completely steered like 12 chats into an MGS2 discussion... good times.
As for Cetra, heh, yeah, I remember that. That was fun shit.
I need to call Pete and tell him about this thread.
JAMES WHITE, WE MUST GET TOGETHER IN THE NEW FUTURE AND PLAY SOME FUCKING SMASH BROTHERS, ASSHOLE. We'll need to get TM and Altemeier together for that shit as well. If they're still around, we can make a trip to Flower Mound and smash it up with all those people from high school. I mean, I know you're probably either in Utah or North Carolina or something, but a road trip is in order, you jerk. Come HOME to Texas.
Small world, remember? I found it quite amusing when I realized that you were in the FMHS band with a bunch of girls I knew from the summer before you and I ever got together to hang out the first time. Shit dude, that was forever ago.
Also, go post in the Cult you prick.
ANYWAY.

Scorpian's still running it, and I was using it too for a while. I couldn't avoid sporting something starring Braska Spira in it when he had returned.Quote:

Oh, and to answer the original topic... August 2002, as others have already mentioned for me. Coming up on my fifth year soon. Freaking sweet.
*smiles* Cain... thankies for remembering me. ^_^ Hehe...Quote:

O.O I first registered as Sherry14 for most of the time, but later switched to The Lone Moon.... lol, people would guess my real name because I'm so reluctant to let them know. ^o^
I remembered when TFF site was just help guide to make chocobos in FF7, haha. ^o^ so puny. ^.^; The forums was called The Promise Land, became TFF later, and the time where we all unhappily migrated to The Garden because TFF kept having serving downs or something that wipe out the board, ^o^;; All our RP hardwork, gone!! lol ^.^ Then TFF came back, and everyone from the Garden moved back. ^_^ The clans was cool while it lasted. ^o^ Itazura is the best, YEAH! ^o^ lol SOLDIER was neat too, makes the people inside feels elite lol enough we're probably not. lol! ^o^ Mwhahaha...!!! the egotisitic we. ^.^ hehe
I remember the others too, so many friends, everyone was like an online family. We just yap away for hours, 4 hours a day at least. It was so fun, and crazy addicting! ^o^ lol From the past minutes, I see Cain, Syd, Secret Azn Man (or SAM), and Fuzz (haha, obviously) is still here. Didn't really look around yet, but who else is here? ^_^ I wonder how's everyone doing?
Starsoldier/Kyla, Utena/Whitney, Edgar Figaro, NightShade, Shagamuffin/Sid, Goku/S (It was S, right? lol, I forgot, I just remember his Aim name was Gooku Hooku), Madam Cheezy, MrCrazyChef, Spekkio, Che, Mina Hew, Quistis, Lady Atma, TimonMeera, Korova, Zeddicus, Ozzie (*sigh*), Dusty...
Gawd-ness, there's so much more, but I can't remember the names...! ~_~ But I love hanging around with everyone. I wonder does anyone of them remember me or even those times....
hahaha so many people mentioned me in this thread that I kinda felt like I was at my own funeral. I love you all, well except andromeda, cause I still can't figure out if youre a dude or chick. haha just playin.
anyways i posted all about the good ole days in the other thread of much similarity, but for now, its almost 5, and i need some sleep.
peace *****s
Well its niced to be mentioned Pete, even if I am remembered as gender confused or whatever name you wish to assign my lack of gender.
Oh Lone Moon Itazura is still poking around, as is a decent part of the Clan Wars. They are all in hiding though, but I made sure that they were saved from deletion. I don't know if you have access to Itazura, but if you do you can walk through memory lane there.
On the topic of Itazura I miss Misato and Trigon, the two that pretty much made the rather famous RP Between Light and Darkness. They both faded away with so many of the other members.
However, I think about half of the people you mention no longer post in the forums, Lone Moon, but you probably figured that anyway. Some of them did make a return here and there though.

Actually about Ozzie, not too long ago he came back just to go on a one night spam craze. A couple of those folks like Spekkio and Korova are hiding in the tucked away EBG forum.
I miss Edgar Figaro and Ms. Remy (Starsoldier) too. They were such big Tactics fans, plus, Edgar was the guy who inspired me to choose my name. I didn't want to be "Cloud and a Number" I saw Edgar Figaro and said, "Yeah THAT'S who I'll be a full named FF character, and old, classic FF character!" It's stuck ever since, and I'm probably one of the only members that's NEVER changed his name (I've been close, but I feel like changing my name, even though I am kind of tired of it now, just wouldn't be right)
Hey, I was a member of Itazura too! I was a Clan Leader along with 'death'. I remember we had some pretty good RPs going back in the day. We never really got anywhere with the other clans.. but we did RP lots to ourselves. Remember the short burst when we would post there while it was still hidden?Quote:

There are far too many names to list and I always leave people out... but does anyone remember Ozzie? He was my best friend when I first joined the forums... I spoke with him and Jess quite often on AIM. Quite the spammer.
Anyone remember Mr. Keen? He was one handsome devil! Mercy me, I'd love to see him again. ;!
*cough* I AM Altemeier... acutally, well there is THE ALtemeier who lives in Texas, but hes... kind of not in contact with me anymore, and im going to try to dig up Timon when I am in Texas...Quote:

SSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY! !!!!
Its good to see you, you were part of the origional squad that taught me how to RP... if only i knew how to spell...
I love all of you, if only money was a non-required thing, we could schedule a huge TFF meeting mixer and meet all the faces behind the names.
I would so be there, and since Fuzz lives in the center of the United States, im volunteering his house for it
I realize that compared to most here I'm a complete n00b.
I originally came here to the home site to get information about the FF franchise because I was into it back then.
Then I joined the forums to interact with fans.
Then, when I stopped being obsessed by the power of Square, I just decided to talk about music and participate in the Intellectual Discussion.
I've had my share of good and bad times.
I just joined Delta Skymiles and I'm about to get like... 1000 free miles just for voting in some promotional thing they're doing. If TFF ever does a mixer, I will be SO set.Quote:

It's threads like these that bring all the old lurkers out, eh? I think it's safe to say that I fit into that category. These threads also get me in that good ol' nostalgic mood. It seems like it was just yesterday that I signed up here after a failed attempt at my own Squaresoft message board. Heh. A buddy of mine from Tekken Zaibatsu (TFF's Eternal Flame) had found the link to this place and thought I might be interested.
As they say, the rest is history.
It's funny, because despite joining in 2001, I always felt like I joined after the proverbial "good ol' days" of TFF. Mind you, a lot has happened since then. Sometime in 2002 KC and I had the idea for the Cult of Kefka, which still survives to this day, even if it is somewhat different from its original form.
"Please sit back while the forums are being hacked." still rings a few bells.
Everywhere else are spurts of inactivity and lurking. I've matured a lot from the weirdo nerd that signed up some 5 and a half years ago. (I think most of us fit into that category when we joined. :P) I've had my controversial moments as well as the aforementioned spurts of inactivity over the last few years, and during those years, I suppose this place has still kept its charm.
After all, we're still here.
Hey, I'd be down. Just give me a year (or so) to get ready for it and I'm sure myself and others would be in attendance. ;!Quote:

And yet, it's STILL the longest-running club on the forums, if you consider its prior incarnation as well as its current one.Quote:

...then again, we all have school, or jobs, or both. Stuff like that really gets in the way of message boards and whatnot. I mean, shit, I worked 13 hours yesterday. Seriously. I can't spend the six hours a day on here like I used to when I was in high school. I really wish I could though. I'd be more into the topics that are being posted and whatnot. I feel like I don't interact enough any more. :(
It happens to all of us. I'm not as active here anymore. To be honest, a lot of GC threads I dont find interesting enough to chat in. I suppose the peak of my activity came from clubs and clans etc, which is where you really get to know TFF folk.
I get too busy to keep active in any of those of late... bah.
Or how about that time every TFF vet posted in these sort of threads, and never spread into the others?
Srsly.
We can make this place more fun again if we post more. Lets bring back the Summer RP, bring back all the other fun stuff.
Quite true, whenever I log on to the boards I see:Quote:

That message has been like that since the upgrade to the newer version of vBulletin, whenever that was. Goes to show how I'm not really posting anywhere.
There's also that. :PQuote:

It's sad really, but it's only a matter of time before GC topics get repeated.
Heck, even this thread has been done before.
No I am not that new here if you think I'm. I had another account called and I am sure some remember: Ultima. But I ended up moving stuff around in my room one afternoon in April of this year and lost my password for Ultima, and to top it I changed my email address, so that was the dead end for Ultima. I actually joined TFF back in July 2005, ok so only 2 years, maybe not as long as some other members but 2 years is the longest I've been in a forum:P.
I remember that I was looking for a new FF forum to be in because all my old ones sucked and most were never updated. I pretty much fell in love with TFF. I made some good friends, and thankfully no ememies. Ultima almost had 300 posts before I lost my password for it, but I catching up. And I believe out of all the Final Fantasy forums out there this one is actually updated with new features, alot of members, and is thankfully not dead:) Praise TFF, its one of the best FF forums out there.
