I think bullies are for pounding into wafer thin particles, but enough of my Tyler Durden madness
Your thoughts on the reaction a person ought to have to bullying? Clearly, a bully is something that we all must deal with, in various situations, from one time to another, in all walks and creeds of life.
So what do you do? Put lard in his Oreos?* I dunno.
*If you understood which book I am remembering this from, I'm impressed because I do not remember the name of it
Edit: "Arthur and the Bully?" Is it an Arthur book?

Dreadfully sorry, found my old lady's secret stash of whiskey yesterday and was in my idiom.
Sir Lancelot is caught up in his idiom
My mom apparently confiscated about 3 drinks worth of whiskey from me and hid it and forgot? I guess I got a little flipsy tipsy, sorry. That wasn't so bad.
"I find this all to be highly inappropriate."
Did you just watch this movie for the first time?
(also what is 3 drinks? 3 gulps? 3 bottles?)
Anyway, are you bullied and Sir Lancelot's rampage is what you want to do to your bullies? I don't think you are Sir Lancelot, sir. Who's bullying you, man? Life? I'll be your brave knight. Let us bring this life to justice, together, my good sir. And then you can be my spoony bard if you accept.
Ah, bullies. The one thing that was unavoidable during high school. While I was only rarely assaulted physically by the bullies (they couldn't risk being suspended, because their GPAs were low enough as it is), I was often pelted with mean words and overhear things being said about me from across classrooms or in hallways. But the best bit of advice I can give about bullying is to brush it off as if nothing happened. Bullies do things for a reaction, and feed off of it. When they see you react, they learn that they can do it repeatedly and continue to enjoy seeing you react. If you don't give in to it, they will (hopefully) grow tired of it and move on.
Another thing you can do is imagine them in the future. I would always picture them serving me fast food, or pumping my gas. And it seems that I wasn't too far off. In my personal experience, I have learned that most of my former bullies are drug-addicted welfare cases, with no hope of contributing to society other than dying and having the government money they receive each month possibly go to someone that actually deserves it.
But if bullying is a problem that you can't deal with by yourself by simply ignoring it, you should always contact someone that can help. A teacher, parent, counselor, police officer, etc. There are too many people who are choosing suicide because of bullying. And more and more when that happens, the bullies do not feel any sort of remorse. Bullies need to see that their words or actions can truly kill someone.

Do you think if they knew, they would stop?
I dunno, it seems to me that hurting others makes them feel better. Why would they care if they hurt them enough to kill themselves, if only because it means they might get into trouble for it?
We want to know they have at least some sense of morality, but do they really? Would they really care if they thought their words would kill someone?
Im of the mind that in this day an age, most people, not just bullies, are aware that what they do is a cause for suicide in victims.
Honestly, Rowan, I don't think they would. Some, yes, but most, no. The world has desensitized people to a point where the enjoyment of putting others in pain is a greater feeling than the joy of being a nice human being toward other people. However, I have to think that somewhere deep down inside of everybody is a conscience, and there's that feeling that maybe they have a split-second thought that maybe they should choose to help others rather than hurt them.
But if a scare tactic could get some people to see that bullying is wrong, I am totally for it.

I had one kid in high school who tried to bully me. He was a real dick to everyone, and one day challenged me to one on one in basketball. I handed his ass to him, and I'll admit that I am God awful. I rubbed it in his face, because he was that much of a prick. He tried to throw a punch, I ducked it and he broke his hand on the retractable bleachers. I waited for him to turn around and called him a few choice names while he cried from the pain in his hand.
He never fucked with me again.
He killed himself a few years ago by ODing on pills. I laughed out loud and went to the bar to celebrate with my friend, who was also a victim of his bullshit.
Funny story, a year or two after the bully killed himself, I met my gf, who actually lived across the street from him before she moved. Their parents were family friends, and were kind of surprised at my opinions on the douche.
Don't care, I'm still here, he's pushing up worms

I used to be a bully irl, if you'd believe that. I followed the wrong kid. It's easy to recruit bullies, but it's not easy to raise heroes.
It is known.
I was bullied in school. I never was able to fit in like other kids and always belonged to the outcasts. Never knew why. Then I went to secondary school, and I still didn't really fit in. Most girls like make up and boys, but I liked video games and other girls as well as guys (not that they knew the last part, but it made for a few awkward situations). I didn't come out until I was seventeen/eighteen, and safely out of an all girls school and in my first relationship. Some of the people at college were cool about it, and others not so much but I stopped caring. Decided that it was a good way to determine who my real friends were.
I've suffered work place bullying too. Again, not being a girl into make up and liking games, I felt other women I worked with looked down at me. Only three women I worked with were friends, and only two still are. Others came and went, making me feel small and stupid. Decided I didn't care last year. It's even worse now that I actually wear small amounts of make up now because people notice and bleh. Fuck 'em.
As for online, I have a dark sense of humour now. I throw out the odd "fuck you" now and then, but I don't really care. I know who my friends are and I don't need many more.
It's interesting reading how people reacted to being bullied. Like I was bullied, and then became a bully for a bit, but it didn't have any place after highschool. Would you all consider internet trolls bullies, though? What about what Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington's interactions are like?
And UE, honestly, I think people don't know how to handle things very well sometimes, and I don't know your situation but maybe some of that was innocent? But probably also a lot of bullshit. Pretty much, though If people don't care to not be rude, then they aren't worth worrying about. Live yo life.
Also we can say fuck here now? Fuck. I never really paid attention.
Yeah, Cesar removed the filters not too long ago. It's pretty fucking nice.
