    Brett Favre Retires

Today is a sad day for the Packer fans. After 17 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre ends his historic career. Brett Favre has been to two Super Bowls (Super Bowl XXXI & XXXII) won a Super Bowl (XXXI) and also has 3 MVP awards (1995-1997). Brett Favre has many records for a QB (most TD passes, most passing yards, most completions, and most victories). Heres my question where do you put Brett Favre in the rank of the greatest players of all time?

His stats during regular season would rank him high I'd say, but Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, and hell, even Tom Brady's postseason records put him to shame.

I knew he was gong to retire after the Giants beat them. This is the first I had heard about it, though.

    You forgot most interceptions.

He is fourth after the Big Three (Marino, Montana, Elway). I cannot judge Manning or Brady until their careers close or at least come closer to closing.

Amen to that. Favre is truly one of the greatest players of all time. He came at a really difficult time in the Packers' organization. In the 25 (or so) seasons before Favre, the Packers, well, sucked. It's funny how one guy can turn it all around.

I'd definitely put Favre as one of top 3 quarterbacks, behind Marino and Montana.

Just thought I'd throw it out there that Farve pretty much started to fail after the Packer's last superbowl, from what I've read. His stats just got pretty much bad.

IMO Payton Manning will beat or come close to the records he does hold, except for his interceptions. =P

Favre's interception record is incredible, considering it took George Blanda well into his 40's to set the record.

Manning is going to break all the records. It is only a matter of time. He has no health issues, so he can be counted on for 16 game seasons year in, year out.
