Best gifts

This thread is about the best gifts you've ever given, not the best gifts you've ever received.

I thought of this because, well, I may have one that tops 'em all.

When I was a child -- and my older brother and sister were children -- my father had two Mak-90 rifles. He ended up selling both of them, basically to put food on the table for us. He gave up something he loved because taking care of his children was more important. Since I've gotten into firearms, I've always wanted to find a Mak-90 or two to replace the ones he gave up for us, as a way of showing my respect and appreciation.

I found one the other day fora semi-reasonable price, and snapped it up. While the Mak-90 is a variant of the AK47 (which is a very common weapon), they're not one of the more common variants, and they're not too easy to find. Even though I've been looking for nearly five years now, I hadn't come across one until the other day.

So what do you think is the best gift you've given?

That's really thoughtful of you Sasquatch. The best present I ever gave was expensive silver necklace, I bought that even tho I was really bad with money, and I really needed it that month but I never regretted for that. It was for my little sister, for her's 10th birthday, as a something that she could always remember me for.

I don't know if you would really call this a gift, since there really was no special occasion, but I gave my mom 300 bucks to go and spend on whatever she wanted. She loves Christmas time, so she went out and bought all kinds of tacky Christmas decorations for the house. Our front yard looked like the North Pole came by and spewed Christmas cheer everywhere. It made her happy, so I was happy too.

Also, I buy my two buddies where I work make-up from Clinique. Not all the time, just when I feel like it.

The best gift I was ever given.... I think that would have to be when my parents bought me a 'dolphin experience'. It was just when I got to interact with those beautiful mammals for an hour. Feeding, swimming and playing with them.
I may not have been able to take anything physical back home with me, but the memories I will cherish forever.

As for the best gift I have given... Gosh, that's tough... One of my closest friends is obsessed with Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. So I photoshopped cards for her with a Tink theme, made an album with various Tinkerbell images... Collected Tinkerbell souvenirs and gave them to her. It may have been simple but I thought it out and that was kinda fun xD
