Before the Storm

We're currently in a PDS(Particularly Dangerous Situation), about to be hit up by the souped-up monster storm that ate Joplin, Missourri. Tornadoes are a certainty in our exact position. This maybe my last thread on this comp or period. I want to make it count. Tornadopaclypse is due in about three hours.

So, how would you feel when facing a lose-lose scenario? What would you do or think? Is there anything you would like to save? Me? I bought a cigar and moved a few of my plants and I'm taking a book with me. "The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco.

I've been listening to Ronnie James Dio and Jazz and I had a killer breakfast, ala "Signs".

meh... it just passed over us about 15 minutes ago... we had a few touch down, but they weren't overly destructive.

We've had tornado warnings before. In fact, we're now officially part of tornado alley. But they're not talking about this like all the other storms. I haven't heard this noise since 2004. That's when part of the town I lived in was decimated.

We're with you in Arkansas. Someone told me yesterday they're expecting an F4 to touch down here this evening. Right now it's just windy, partly cloudy.

Maybe it'll miss us.

Yeah... we had 3 touchdown near us (gravois mills and versailles), and on the other side of us 2 more (climax springs)... luckily very little damage. All wooded areas for the most part.

If it were me, there's a couple of ways I'd be spending my time. One involves an empty bottle of Courvoisier, and me passed the **** out in a basement with my music turned up high.

I'll definitely be keeping it in mind since I'm moving to the mid-west soon for a job. I feel bad for all those people in Joplin as it pretty much wiped out their ability to go to the hospital, buy stuff, and go to school. Then the news already "forgot" about it and have been blaring stuff about a single child missing in another tornado. Gotta love(to hate) the news.

I hope everyone in the storm's war path are okay. It got pretty close up here in the my corner of MO, but luckily it passed.

The storm just ran through my city in Illinois. There are like a dozen tornado warnings out for the state, less now I think, but no less dangerous. We had sirens going off for like 10 ten minutes. There was even a report of a touchdown to the northwest of us. We even had hail coming down.

Fortunately we have survive. I worry for Southern Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana right now. Hope you make it without incident.

It's been a nasty season for tornadoes.

It looks like we're not gonna get hit at all.

We got a bit of a storm, with some thunder and hail, but other than that, it's been... actually a nice day.

Hope those who are getting hit are staying safe. :/

No twister, thank God, but 60 mph straight line winds brought a tree down on power lines.
