    Another Unprovoked Attack.

An eyewitness said the victim was stabbed 50 or 60 times by the man sitting next to him, who then severed his head with a large knife.
"All of a sudden, we all heard this scream, this bloodcurdling scream," passenger Garnet Caton told CBC television.

"The attacker was standing up right over the top of the guy with a large hunting knife - a survival, Rambo knife - holding the guy and continually stabbing him... in the chest area," Mr Caton added.

"When we came back on the bus... he was cutting the guy's head off and pretty much gutting him up," Mr Caton said.

The attacker ran at them, Mr Caton said, and they ran out of the bus, holding the door shut to prevent him getting out.

"He calmly walks up to the front [of the bus] with the head in his hand and the knife and just calmly stares at us and drops the head right in front of us," Mr Caton said.
"There was no rage in him ... It was just like he was a robot or something," he added.
The attack appeared to be unprovoked and it is thought the killer did not know his victim.

What I don't get is why someone would attack and kill another without knowing the victim, who by witness accounts didn't provoke an attack. The way the guy acted like a "robot" worries me greatly. I'll think again next time I offer the seat next to me on the bus...

Are we going to all go mad, and crazed, like a robot and start stabbing people's heads off? What would drive someone to do that to another human being, provoked or unprovoked?

This whole story is messed up, the thing that gets me is that there was a bus with people in it but nobody knows why he did it. Hell if it was that random it could of been any one on that bus including the driver that got killed! What would make someone want to do that, I couldn't possibly imagine it let alone think to do that to a living breathing person. I would exspect a random attack like this to be drug related, but no, it doesn't say anything about usage. The thing that scares the crap out of me the most is how they use the word "calmly" thats just freaky all together. Who in their right mind could calmly hold a bloody head?!?!

My God. It's the type of thing you see in horror films, but in real life... Jesus.

Severing a head on a bus? That's got to go down in history. It's so unreal. You'd never expect this kind of thing to happen in real life.

What happened to the guy to the guy who did it? Did he get away? Did they catch him?

God...can you imagine being on that bus? I mean, what if there were kids on there? Bloody hell. Sicko.

That is truly f***ed up, i noticed towards the end it says 'The man has not yet been charged' why hasn't he? a bus full of people saw him do it. The sick git should be givin the death penalty. The passengers are going to remember that horrific scene for the rest of the lives, its not a nice thing to see, its bad enough reading about it. Meier is right in saying that the fact people were saying he was calm is really freaky, and it clearly shows the guy who done it didn't even give a crap.

In cases of murder, you're going to have three major reasons that people commit it- passion, greed, or compulsion. It's rather obvious that it wasn't a result of passion, due to the lack of emotion and robot like state people described. It's obvious it wasn't due to greed, as most who do it for money believe they won't get caught and do it in a more professional, logical, or clean manner. Stabbing and decapitating in front of several witnesses does not fit any of those categories. So, this has got to be a result of compulsion. This person could not help but be violent against another person, provoked or not. It's bad DNA.

People like him are the bane of humanity. One life was lost, and all of those people that were there, and the victim's family, will never be the same.

I find it strange when any police authorities have the suspect in custody, know they did it, but so far no charges have been filed? Obviously there will be charges, but why do they wait so long. Psychiatric evaluation maybe?
And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Canadian Officers unarmed? I know they are in the UK, but I'm not sure about Canada. If that person had gotten off the bus, and the officers were not armed, can you image what else might have taken place?
Kind of reminds me of the 'Charlie Manson' days when he and his followers went out and killed at random. People are really getting crazy all over the world.

Canadian Officers are not unarmed, they just don't take their guns out at every opportunity like the American ones do.

And people are not getting crazy all around the world; they were for a while. It just surfaces from time to time.

Not only did he cut the guy's head off, but he also began hacking pieces off the victim's body and ate the flesh. Hearing this made me feel nauseas. It's one of the freakiest cases I've heard of in awhile. It makes me not want to ride busses anymore..

Read the witnesses point of views of the incident.. it's really chilling.

What do you bet there will be a horror movie made in the near future that uses this incident as inspiration for a scene?

It wouldn't surprise me any, really. Most movies get inspired off of real incidents. I wont be surprised if there will be more crimes committed involving buses in the future. This has sort of opened a gateway to other similar-minded weirdos. It's like the school shootings. When one big shooting happens at some school, you hear about more school shootings in other states. It's like a chain reaction.

Where did it say the passengers ate his flesh? I've read the newspaper clipping and the posted quotes, but nowhere did it say he ate any flesh.

As bad as this may be to say... let alone sad:

    Welcome to the Human Race.

We don't need reason to kill one another, yet we do anyway.... it could be anything from not getting enough attention as a child, to a teacher that yelled at him in 2nd grade, to his wife leaving him for a transgender.... gods know what twists people's minds as such and makes them want to kill anyone, for any reason.

Personal opinion: Chemical imbalences can do crazy things to a person. I was perscribed Prozac for about a year before I took myself off of it... it was turning me into an angry, spiteful, disrespectful prick.... I guess I shouldn't complain though... at least I wasn't depressed right?
    It's ok.... I know I still rock...

There was another case in Canada like this.

A man got angry with his girl friend and hacked he dogs head of and the killed her and decapitated her and then proceeded to walk through the streets with it and when the cops came he threw it at the car and was arrested.

    I feel really ill

Yeah, that about sums it up... but that's also the case with many other anti-depressants on the market... which is why I think it was a chemical imbalence... at least a good chance of it...
