All The World's a Stage and...

All of us are Stock Characters... Cliches written in by a crude author. So if this were the scenario(but it's not...right? ), but if it were...

What Stock Character would you be?

I could compile a list for you to choose from but you know them all by heart right?

I'll come right out and say it. I've always aspired to either be like Sherlock Holmes or Super Villainy(yes the ones with the overly-contrived unrealistic plans that over monologue).

Are you the ditzy blonde? Reluctant Hero? Comic relief? A traitor? Girl or boy next door? The Love interest? The token black character >< The Misfit? A second banana(sidekick) The Loveable rogue? The underdog? A Christ figure?

There... I gave you a few to think over... Get back to me...

I'm the Former Villain turned Reluctant Hero.

Past mistakes I'm trying to atone for. Even though I'll never attain forgiveness, I still search in my futile life.

Always glancing back as I walk forwards.

Along time ago, down a different path, I would have been called the "Warlord of the Fallen".

Truth is truth. So first you were Bukowski an now you're the daddy with a sense for ironic humor and a good perspective? I like. Not necessarily a stock character, but it prolly should be. Well, I guess in Mr. Mom, Micahel Keaton...haha

    *EDIT*

Aha, former Villain... Traitor! Nobody likes an anti-villain...>< Hmm, but I suppose perspectives and motives change... I also, may eventually change my stripes, so to speak.

Actually my whole Villain theme is probably all an act...

Hm...my friends would probably say I was the ditzy blonde or a mother type figure, mainly because I'm really slow when it comes to understanding things or getting things, and because I'm over-protective, sensible and responsible.

I remember the one time, me and my mates were all down by the park, and as we were leaving we were by a main road. My friend Amy went really close by the cerb of the pavement [In fact, I think her foot went on the road] and a car came by, so I shouted "Get off the ****ing road, you twat!!" at her and pulled her away by the arm. She didn't speak to me for a while.

So, I'd be the over-protecive mother figure. Who's also kind of violent with her language...lol.

Yeah..., I threw it all away.... could have had anything and everything I could ever want in the world.... but then again, I never wanted those things in the first place...

Because of that one lone decision, I've been called both a monster and hero; a knight and a brigand; a heretic and a savior...

Hated and loved both at the same time... what a life, right?

I'm comic relief to people who usually A) are kind of boring, B) don't know me properly, and C) miss all of the actual funny things I say, which are picked up by the interesting people who know me better. However, I don't consider myself that.

In a book or a movie, I'd be the Generic Sort of Funny But With A Serious Side Close Friend that the protagonist comes to for help and advice (I say this because this is what I am to most people I know). You know, the mad friend of the girl lost in love who takes her out drinking and makes cynical remarks about men while the main girl works out what's going on. The, 'Honey, you love him! Go for it! And get me another whiskey while you're at it!' one. You know her. I don't give enough of myself away to ever be the main protagonist.

You're not a villian Sinny. You're far closer to being Sherlock than you are to being Darth Sidius.

I tend to agree with Govinda on the villain vs. Sherlock comment. Mm hm.

    Meee?

I've actually been thinking about this all day trying to make a decision. And I think I would probably end up as a girl next door protagonist. I don't have enough... I can't even think of the word... I feel like I don't have enough playful cynicism and blunt insight to qualify for the admired female friend (Govinda's role). But still, I don't consider myself the kind of pretty that qualifies for a confident, beautiful female protagonist type. I don't really have the look for that.

I'd be the mildly pretty protagonist who overcomes her insecurities by the end of the movie/show and accomplishes what she originally thought she couldn't do. I see those a lot. And I'd probably get heart achy at some point.

That or I'd be a naively helpful character for the main protagonist just by being optimistic.
    Curious?

Aww, you guys are awesome. And I have to say, I'd much rather identify with Sherlock Holmes. He lived for his work and was lazy, quiet and moody about everything else.

But I have to protest, Ocean. You're far too unique to be such a sideline character. Govinda, too. I assure you both, you guys constitute the main protagonists of your own stories.

I would see myself as an anti-hero who the audience empathises with. Somewhat self-serving, a character who always manages to do the right thing without meaning to most of the time.

I would be almost like a villain of sorts, but one everyone loves for whatever weird reason. And also to some extent, the comedy relief. Because I can be slightly clueless some of the time.

It's a cliched character, even as far as RPGs go, but for some reason I cannot think of a strong example. ><

I think I'd be the lovable rogue.

I go about doing as I please and just stating exactly how I feel to anyone who's willing to listen. I've stolen things, such as street signs, on a whim and have no major qualms about it. I genuinely feel that as long as nobody's getting hurt or losing out on anything, then there's no harm in (insert activity here). I'm a bit of a lush, but everybody wants to be around me and can't wait for my return from school/ back to school. Also, I've gotten into fights for truly good reasons, such as protecting others (from realllllly sketchball dudes).

I'm also a bit of an underdog, because of my height. I'm 5'8", which a lot of people give me shit for; because that's apparently short. For some reason they attribute that to many things that it's not, such as a lack of athletic ability or strength. I have a fun time proving people wrong, as it's one of my favorite things to do. On a similar note, I love to shut people up, which is very much in the same vein as proving people wrong. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a bit cocky for someone who's usually viewed as an underdog, but the swagger suits me.

From what I know of how I am perceived by others and by my friends (which isn't a lot), I'm supposedly the comic relief. I'm kind of the idiot that bumbles into a serious or important scene and then ruins it with lameness or my stupidity. I'm always cracking jokes and trying to get people to laugh anyway, so I suppose it fits me...though the more intelligent or serious people just think I'm a waste of space. Luckily, that's what comic reliefs usually are-stupid wastes of space that happen to accidentally bring funny moments into people's lives.

It's either that or the girl next door. She's average, somewhat nice at times, somewhat mean at times, not entirely painful to look at, and somewhat helpful. I'm useless, but average enough to maybe make this role in a movie or book. I'd prefer this title to the comic though, since it stands out less. This character doesn't do much in stories other than help out the main character once or twice. The comic relief kills the main character's mood.

I was just downstairs in my kitchen making Instant Noodles, and suddenly a load of clumsiness hit mee. I opened the packet, and the Noodles went flying, so I had to clean that up. Then I opened the curry powder and sprinkled it on the remaining Noodles, and as I went to pu the packaging in the bin, the powder left in the packet went all over the floor. Had to clean that up. Then, when I poured the boiled water into the bowl of Noodles, it splashed everywhere. It went all over me and the kitchen side! So I had to clean that up too. By this time, most of the flavouring of the Noodles had gone.

So basically, this little story is something that sort of adds on to my 'Ditzy Blonde' theory. Or, it could make me seem like the dopey idiot of the movie/book.

Anyways, I'm gonna go eat my half flavourless Noodles now. Toodles

Well, going off of tvtropes.org (which is where character stereotypes are explained and such), I find myself to be

    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MsFanservice

Not surprising, eh? But there's more to me than just that.

    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheStoic

I'm just plain full of badassness.

    ROFL at the fanservice. Rofl.

Me? Yes, I'm British.... but that does not automatically put me in the place of the villain.

I'd say comic relief for me. I can be a funny guy, and even when I attempt to be funny (or clever) and fail miserably, I can sometimes be laughed at, thus still providing relief of a comedic variety. So yeah, I'm often making peeps laugh. Not that I like to blow my own trumpet... but seeing as this thread demands my characteristics I have no choice but to do so ^_^.
However, like Pablo, I'd have that serious side. I generally act like a joker... but when I need to get serious, I get serious. If an issue requires some proper attention/focus, I will turn off clown mode and provide support. Also, when I raise an intelligent point, I may throw the odd joke in which supports the point, but in some slightly comical way.

So yes, I'm the comic relief that can be taken seriously.

You know, I have a hunch that if I said that last line in front of my friends.... I would be laughed at, and not taken seriously. Ironic

    Back. For a while. Maybe.

Can I be Rocky? I wanna be Rocky.

But if you're talking about actual movie/television stereotypes, I'd probably be the token black guy. Only by black guy, I mean noise guy. Whenever I'd enter the scene, all you'd hear is chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Then everybody would be all like "lol noise". If for some reason, lol cannot be used, I would accept "omg noise" or in extreme circumstances "wtf noise". Then I leave.

It's hard for me to think of another stereotype for myself.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

I'm the mysterious one who drifts on and off the stage once in a while... some people see me as the narrator, while others see me as just another distraction - like a crying baby in the front row (not that many babies go to the theatre, but you get the picture, lol). Yes... i'm the Mysterious Narrator!
