    Alien/UFO sightings.

I've been watching a lot of x-files recently, and I believe that the truth is out there. Send pics, videos and post your stories here. To accept that we are the only living beings in the universe would be somewhat ignorant. Gillian Anderson is gorgeous.

    Heres my story.
I've never personally had any experience with UFO's or Aliens. Although one night, I was sleeping in my room and all of a sudden I was woken by a dark figure standing hunched in my doorway with light shining around which make the figure appear black. Before I screamed my lungs out, it spoke and it was my sister. She was hunching out of fear, she was scared. I asked her what was "up" and she replied that she had just witnissed a UFO. She described the craft as something that would be larger than 10 jumbo jets. She said it looks like a shinry disco ball. When it was moving, it flashed orange, but when it was stationary it remained a pale white. She explained that she was unable to move to come and wake us and continued to stare at it until it was gone. This pissed me off greatly. She said it woke her up because her whole room was flashing, which lead her to look out the window. It took her a while to get over what she saw, as it made her very distraught (what about me , huh? standing hunched over in my doorway as I awake from a peaceful slumber). Anyway, we woke our parents and told them what she saw. They wern't too phased but dad asked my sister to report it on a specific website.

Not too exciting, but thats all I've got.

Perhaps people on here might have some stories and perhaps pictures? Or maybe even pictures and videos you've seen that you think are legitimate?

    Re: Alien/UFO sightings.

I lived in Phoenix, AZ for almost a year, and I did see some crap I can't really explain.

Every night I would go outside and sit on a wooden bench looking up at the stars and never really saw anything, until a couple of months of doing so. I looked up one night and theirs was a star that I never really noticed before, and after looking at it more closely I noticed it wobbling to the left, and then the right. Really I thought is was just my mind playing tricks on me, but after a couple of minutes of it doing just that, it took off to the right of me so fast that when I blinked I didn't see the object anymore. It also left a white streak in the sky for just barely a second before disappearing behind it.

I'm not saying it was a flying saucer, or whatever you wanna call it, but it definitely did what I described. Also, I have never seen anything of ours do this, so who knows what it was really.

Edit: Their you go che! </3

You mean flying saucer. What you saw is exactly a UFO, an unidentified flying object.

    Che is right.

Also, the chance of us being the only (sentient) creatures in the universe is indeed incredibly small. But so is the chance that one of those creatures would actually exist close enough to earth to 'visit' it.

Well first you would have to assume that these creatures havnt mastered or at least become advanced in intergalactic space travel and havnt already made contact with us thousands of years ago.

Does she look 1000 years old to you? She might have alien DNA, but like that would stop you. Lets get back on track here. Anyone have any good videos or pictures they've seen over the years?

Yes I realise the timeframe of human existence is virtually nothing compared to the age of the universe, meaning there could be creatures with technology thousands, if not millions of year ahead of ours.

But my point about the odds is still valid. People try to use the odds for alien life as an argument. I'm just saying there's a difference between the probability of life and a visit from our galactic neighbours.

    Re: Alien/UFO sightings.

I have little doubt there are civilizations far beyond what is even conceivable to us. In only 100 years we went from not being able to get off the ground to maintaining 365 manning of a orbiting space station, think of what would be possible with thousands if not millions of years of progression. What we currently believe to be impossible such as FTL travel may very well be as simple as going to the airport and catching a flight for another intelligent species. I believe that nearly all UFO sightings have a reasonable terrestrial explanation, I don't believe such an advanced species would allow themselves to be so easily seen...I imagine they're intelligent enough to know the ramifications of startling such a trigger happy race such as ourselves. I believe it to be entirely possible that we've been visited at one time or another, but I also believe the gaps between those visits would be huge..possible thousands of years between such interactions. I even give galactic seeding theories some consideration, even with our primitive technology if the means to travel to an earth like planet was available we would have little problem initiating earth like life on another planet.

They've been here before, thousands of years ago and I almost certainly believe they will come back in full blow instead of just appearing in small cases around the world.

Personally I've witnessed UFOs twice in my lifetime and one was very recent while I was in the park. I really wish I had a good camera at the time (Likely story right? but who the **** carries a 10+Megapixel camera around) but my phone camera didn't do it justice. It was almost glowing brilliantly that it almost blended in with the clouds, it was an enormous saucer shaped object and you could clearly see it wasn't any conventional human craft.

You are a complete idiot. Not only do you fully believe what you saw was nothing other than life from a different planet, you think SOMEHOW thousand of years ago they visited. While you might be right (I have no way of disproving you), the fact that you write as if it were almost factual information makes me hate you.

I believe in it a 100%, mainly because the evidence is all around the ancient structures that they left behind while the modern society is still trying to figure out how the **** the people of that time built megalith structures of granite and stone that even nowadays we cannot replicate without the help of computers; yet they made possible with a chisel and hammer?

Loki, dont forget that they had slaves back then and advanced pulley systems. It was entirely possible to build those pyramids manually without the help of complex machines. As for the drawings , they do not prove anything. Nor does the existence of structures prove anything. Although I can see how that might be considered evidence.

    Re: Alien/UFO sightings.

I've got no stories about UFOs and I have a hard time believing in their existance but today on the news radio station a guy from Fredericton New Brunswick was interviewed and he called himself a ufologist. He was giving theories on why aliens exist and dropped a couple of stats of studies that have been done that resulted in four people reviewing thousands of reports and how 28% of the reports they could not explain.

Anyway I say all that to say the guy put himself in the same standing as biologists, physicists, and chemists (I think he dropped a few other scientific researchers). I was slightly bothered by that statement because he is putting himself in the same standing of people that actually run empirical experiments to test their theories in their fields and this guy doesn't he just goes off of hear say by other people...so yeah noticed the thread after work today and thought I'd share that

I believe in aliens, but UFO sightings are all bogus, is my guess. If they're so advanced, enough to actually commute to earth from a distant planet, do you think they'd actually be stupid enough to let themselves be seen?
I agree with most of what Stephen Hawking says about life in the universe.

sorry, no UFO sightings of my own to share.

The closest I came to believing in extraterrestrial life was when reading Dan Brown's Deception Point, it did make scientific sense, but it's a techno-thriller novel, I was 16 when I first read it, so you be the judge of the credibility of my belief. Some parts of the story are insanely similar to some episodes from the X-Files when Mulder and Scully go to investigate the Arctic or some snowy area. I'm a fan of the X-Files, although I haven't seen it for ages... I remember the days of my crush on Mulder, I think I was 12...

We (many people all over the city) saw these lights in the sky, which were originally thought by most people to be the pieces of the falling NASA satellite recently, since this happened on the same day/night the satellite fell to Earth, but it was obvious it wasn't the satellite, since I still saw one of the lights the following day, long after the satellite fell. Local news stations reported them to be weather balloons. The one in this picture was the only one I saw the following morning, but then again, I didn't really observe the rest of the sky to check for others. The ones the previous night, though, looked cool. There were a few different ones reported by different people. I saw one white one and one light red-ish one. And they were so bright. Well, alot of people thought they were UFOs, which they can be and they're covering up, saying they're just weather balloons. I kid, I kid. I do believe in aliens and whatnot, but I believe that yes, they were just weather balloons. Here's the pictures (the second one is zoomed in to the closest I could get it):

I once saw a ghost but my body had the same reaction to seeing it as a deep meditation into the subconscious so I just figured it was a delusion coming from a tired mind. Apart from that ive never seen a ghost or an alien. And as what people say about the possibility of aliens coming to visit us, humans allways make the mistake of trying to analyse things outside of their understanding and it is not possible. Mankind has proved this thousands of times. Best not to dwell on it. You cant think through things outside of your knowledge.

    Re: Alien/UFO sightings.

Do I believe there is life on other planets? Absolutely. Given the size of our universe, and the innumerable number of stars and planets in it, the odds of only one of them supporting life is almost nonexistant. The odds of many of them being vastly superior to us are also pretty good.

Do I then believe aliens have visited us and UFO sightings have been alien ships? Absolutely not. First of all, only species vastly superior to ourselves would even ave the ability to travel to our planet. Second of all, the size of our universe which was a part of the argument for extraterrestrial life works against us here. Given a universe this size to travel freely throughout, what are the odds they'd just happen to pick our insignificant little rock in the short time frame we've been watching the night skies with some idea of what we were looking for? Not particularly good. Furthermore, if they knew what was on our planet already, why would they want to come here? A species for whom the universe is a playground would be so far beyond us, that they'd likely not even consider us intelligent lifeforms. They'd be no more interested in coming here to observe us, our technology and our culture than we would be in observing the society of an anthill we happened to walk past.

Anyone believe in the time travel theory that UFOs and the little grey men some people report are not aliens from another planet, but are us humans from the distant future visiting?

I could just see a couple guys in their late teens or early twenties watching a scifi flick from this time period for the lulz and being like "Dude, how ****ing hilarious would it be to dress up like that and take our hovercars back to like the twentieth century?" ****ing future trolls. But seriously, I doubt it. I doubt the possibility of time travel ever being possible for us. And even if we did manage it, changing the past would be dangerous to a point where a more evolved intelligent species wouldn't risk being seen in the past.

I spotted a UFO when I was launching the Phoenix to test warp drive. Apparently it was the star ship Enterprise-E, under attack by the Borg. It was strange, because it fired missiles at us, but they were programmed off course, and missed.

Anyway, after I launched into warp, I landed back at my base in Montana, and a few hours later, a space craft landed, and I met something called a Vulcan. Nice guy. He told me to live long and prosper.

I got a picture of the guy, actually. He looked like this.

There are no such thing as aliens, of course. Go with that. It's the absolute truth. No question. Why would there ever be aliens?
Do they have jobs or pay taxes? Of course not, they're aliens. So they should have absolutely no representation in reality!

You're not going to get much from me by linking to ancient aliens. Supposed doctors and experts asserting ridiculously bold and speculative opinion as fact, it's meant to be entertaining..not informative. The host has a degree in sports information and claims to be an expert on archaeology? Bullllllllshit.

Well, I do believe that there are aliens out there, I would Love to see them, and yes their is possibly a chance that we have seen them, or that they have shown themselves to us..but their is no way of telling and there is no way we can ever know until we have definite proof. If their isnt a big sign saying hello, we are here! then its hard to believe the funny lights... Ghosts are a whole other talk.
