    Adderall

    So, who here uses it?

I've been using it for the past three months or so now, and it is a nice drug to have around for me. Though I don't have a perscription, and I doubt I suffer from an attention disorder or anything, the uses of this drug are very beneficial for me. For example, it allows me to stay in a relaxed-yet focused phase as well, which is helpful for me to study and concentrate on tasks. It keeps me calm and I feel like I can handle the task at hand without causing a bunch of stress to worry me or to slow me down. There are downsides to using it though, as it is sometimes hard for me to sleep until the effects wear completely off. It also removes my appetite for food and if I don't eat beforehand, I end up waking up feeling weak with a headache the next day.

Do you use adderall? If you do, do you have a perscription for it? Are you against using adderall for medicinal purposes? What about recreational purposes? Let us discuss this issue.

My friends used to snort aderall, smoke weed, and then play videogames. Let me just say that you don't want to mess with trying to beat someone that attentive or alert while you are not at a fighting game. I've never used it, or had anything to do with it though.

I have a friend who uses Adderall for his ADHD, and he says he is more focused because of it. He only uses it while in school, so he was off of it during the summer. Yeah, I can tell when he's on it, and off of it. He does seem more focused with what he's doing while he uses it, which is good because I really want him to do well.

I'm pretty sure he has a prescription for it, since he was diagnosed with ADHD.

I am not against the use of Adderall for medicinal purposes (or any other drug, for that matter). Recreational purposes? Well, I wouldn't do it, but if people choose to do so themselves then I hope that they are careful. It is a stimulant drug, and you never really know how it will affect your body. Then again, so is caffeine.

haha, yeah that's very true Che. I'm a part of a league that is big into competitive gaming, and the kids that play there are big into taking lots of it at a time. You can all tell which ones are addy-ed out by the blank stares at the tv screens, the constant licking of the lips, the drone stoic sound of their voice, and the constant biting of their fingernails. One particular kid that I know of actually had to be rushed to a hospital because he fainted at a tournament. Now, I know he has a perscription because of his ADHD, but there were other factors that came into play as well, like the lack of sleep he had (side effect), no food in his system (side effect), and he counteracted the lack of sleep with sleeping pills, plus with all the tension of placing well, he passed out. So there needs to be some discretion with the usage of it. But yeah, getting back to your point Che, they call em "skill pills" for a reason, lol.

Yeah, I guess it's a little scary because the use of it hasn't lead to any long-term studies, conclusions, or links to anything, but one thing is since because it is a stimulant, it raises blood pressure, so one has to be careful with the possible long-term effects, like strokes or heart attacks. But for now, it's really a shot in the dark on what chronic use of it could lead to.

I have adderall in my blood except I manipulated it so I don't get fatigue.

Well in all seriousness I don't use it and it's not in my blood but I tend to have a knack of going to work with little to no sleep and doing an 8 hour shift as if I slept for 10 hours.

Performance-enhancing drugs! Since e-sports are so popular these days I wonder when some douche will decide it's time to test gamers. Ugh. I know it's going to happen, because I have no more faith in this world anymore.

I thought about using It until my grad night. My friend has ADD and ADHD and offered my other friend some adderall to stay awake (apparently) for the rest of the night....but later she said that her body felt tingly like if it were asleep. She said she felt like she was floating. To me it sounds like maybe she got a little hi??? Not that I've been but that’s the only thing I could compare it to...But she only took one. She later told me that she had taken some pain killers before taking the adderall...maybe not a good Idea to mix them. I laughed my ass off (!!)

I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

That is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. Who the **** manipulates brain chemistry that much to play a videogame? Isn't that shit supposed to be for fun? Like, to do in your free time? Stressing out and exhausting oneself to the point of passing out over a videogame is the most ****ed up stupid thing ever, and it is so common in this generation that I could just shit from being so terrified.

I have never taken Adderall. I don't need it. People can abuse it at their own risk, I guess, but I can't see myself ever giving it to my kid. It's creepy that some people who don't have ADD/ADHD have to rely on this stuff just to write a paper. Or, ****, play a videogame.
    Curious?

Theres playing for fun, and then theres playing for glory and financial gain. I'm guessing his pals used it for big tournies, like cgs/cpl whatever, which have considerably large prize pools.

I had a few old counter strike friends who went on won the last CGS, one of them boasted an income of a couple of hundred thousand for their short pro gaming career.

These guys spent the majority of their time preparing for the CGS, and it payed off. Its tough to be the best, so yeah i wouldn't put it passed anybody in this field to gain an extra edge with the consumption of such drugs.

I myself would never go that far to increase my game, as i do and always will, play for fun

Sounds like me everyday. I don't even want to know what I'd become on it.

I've never used it, never considered it, and never would consider it. I actually try to keep all drugs down to a minimum. I won't take something unless I absolutely have to.

But I have heard that some hardcore MMO gamers use it to grind non-stop.

Never touched the stuff. I don't need to, nor have I ever. I'm not one to wait til the very last seconds to get papers and the like done, so I never had to be super focused. As for gaming, I couldn't see myself needing it. I play for fun, unless people start talking shit, and then I just go a little nuts.

In fact, I remember actually writing better with several distractions; tv on, music playing, AIM open, etc, and all at the same time. For some reason the complete sensory overload helps flood my brain with ideas. Then again, I majored in English, but that's another story... one to file under 'WORST CAREER MOVES EVER'

Unless I'm stressed, upset, tired, or haven't eaten much that day so my energy levels are low, I never find myself having any sort of an issue concentrating on a task, and taking in the full amount of information I need to. Wether it's studying, gaming, doing homework, etc. I've always felt I have a fairly sharp mind.

I've never known anyone who takes it, actually, though I've read many a story about ADHD people giving it to their friends. Seems Oxy, Vicodin, Percocet, Xanax, and other pain killers/anti-depressants just aren't enough for kids these days. I'll never understand when and how pills became the new weed. Guess it's harder to get caught. *shrug*

This coming from the guy who consumes insane amounts of caffeine during finals week.
