    Underrated Anime

Some Animes deserved more attention than they received. Which ones do you think should have spent more time in the spotlight?

To me, Outlaw Star and Noein, I would say. Noein was never shown on Toonami, or at least from what I remember. It's a very good anime, but not many know what it is, sadly enough. It's weird enough to stand out. I don't think it got the attention it deserved, because it wasn't really directed towards a younger audience. It's confusing and hard to follow.

Outlaw Star was on Cartoon Network for a brief time, but they stopped airing that eventually. I never got to see the final episode. If it had a second season, then they never showed it. When I was little, I didn't like it that much, but I watched some of it recently and it wasn't that bad. It was funny and exciting enough. It doesn't compare with the others(like Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop), but it was still fun to watch.

I think Ergo Proxy is VERY underrated.

All anybody ever says about it is that it has a lack of human warmth. People rarely realise that that was purposeful. The animation is amazing, the storyline is divine and it has the best dubbing I've ever heard in an anime.

    Fantastic. Go watch.

They ran Outlaw Star several times. I don't know how long it ran on Toonami, but it was several months at the very least since they were playing them once a day back then. It would only take a month to get through all of the episodes. When Adult Swim started up Outlaw Star was in the original block for a while and then they stopped airing. But definitely a great anime, though CN butchered it with their censorship.

There was going to be a second season of Outlaw Star but that fell through. There is however a second manga series for Outlaw Star which was going to be the second season. It was not popular enough or something in Japan for them to make another season. I don't know the reasons.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

Yeah I remember when outlaw star played on CN, I want to say it played for atleast a half a year. The 3 that I can think of are:

Orguss 02: If I remember correctly it was only a few (maybe 9) episodes long but it was a great series and has never really got major airtime on U.S. syndicated TV. It had a predocessor named Orguss, that really wasn't as good as the second season. But 02 was one of my favorite animes of the giant robo/ fantasy types

Devil Man: this series was pretty awsome from what I saw of it, but then again I can only find the first 2 VHS tapes so I never got to see the whole series. I did get to read most of the manga though. It was pretty intence and crazy. got to love the whole fusion with demons thing it had going on in it. The original voice over for the devil man character was pretty bad though, he kind of sounded like a guy that got kicked in the nards growling

New Dominion Tank Police: Now givin that this series was actually pretty well know along time ago, I think it needs so due justice now adays with a high-def rerelease to DVD. I loved this series too. Cops with tanks you can beat it, imagine appleseed but with alot more humor. I know they played this on Saturday Anime on Sci-Fi back in the day but since Sci-Fi stopped doing that program I really haven't seen or heard to much about it.

Wow talk about living in the past.... Saturday Anime.... I miss that!

Another that I think was great that wasn't really hit on to much outside of manga was Galaxy Exspress 999
Soldier: "We suck but we're better then you"

We will fight, we will be strong
    Together we're marching on
    United, we move as one
Our finest hour has just begun

    Hm..
Le Chavelier Deon- It has a good art style, but I suppose the art isn't what matters all the time. The story, however, is also very interesting. I don't know many who know the anime. It may be one of the newer ones. None the less, it doesn't get the attention it deserves.
I can see it being boring to a younger audience that prefers ones like Naruto or Fruits Basket. It's more on the historical side and is pretty morbid. It takes place in the Louis XV times of France. The genres are: drama, fantasy, horror, mystery, supernatural.

Heroic Age: This one is more on the mecha side of anime. However, it's not your typical mecha. "Answering the call of the “Gold Race”, all the sentient races launch into space. The human race is the last to launch, and are thus known as the “Iron Race”. Much time has passed since then, and humanity is threatened with extinction at the hands of the more dominant “Silver Race”. In order to save her people, Princess Deianeira sets out on a journey to a galaxy far away, following the prophecies of the Gold Race handed down by the royal family. Then, she meets a boy named Age. Their encounter will change the fate of the universe..." This explanation comes from Anime News Network. Genres include: adventure, comedy, romance, science fiction

It was pretty good. My brother got me into it, so I watched it all the way to the end. It deserves more attention from those that are into mecha. It interested me more than any of the Gundam series, but I don't think the two should be compared at all.
