The last time you watched "The Simpsons"

Tonight, I was visiting ThatGuyWithTheGlasses's website, and watched "The Simpsons" opening with his added lyrics. He mentioned that there was a new opening, so I had to go on Youtube and watch it. It's almost depressing: the first several seconds, at least. Parts of Springfield are burning, there's a bilboard with a dejected Krusty the Clown on it, and the bullies are sawing off the head of Jebediah Springfield's statue. It kind of symbolizes for me where the show was going the last time I was watching it. I just don't care that it's on anymore, and it used to be one of my favorite shows.

I think the last time I watched it on any kind of regular basis was when the second season of Arrested Development was airing; 2005? 2004? *shrug* In the newest epsiode I remember enjoying, Marge had this awesome line about "When (so-and-so) said that every woman should have a room in the house to herself, she must have meant the kitchen!" People were talking about how the show was going downhill, and I thought, "What? It's still awesome!" Then, I started to notice the abundant poor execution, bad writing, and simple stupidity. In one scene I saw, Moe denounced all religions as being "Full of crap," or something like that. They didn't even attempt to dress it up as a joke; just brought it out as statement, whereas in an earlier episode, Bart had the awesome line: "And how religious people suck up to God!"

The last episode I remember watching, Homer went through a dumbass's gauntlet, getting trapped on a conveyer belt and beaten by hammers, and somehow ending up in a pond and being bitten by geese, or something lkie that. This scene was the preview for the episode that night, and I couldn't help but think, "If this is the best that tonight's show has to offer, I'm done watching right now."

I will admit that I thought the Simpsons Movie was pretty good. It had the heart and charm from the old days that the current episodes are lacking, although in the joke department was very hit or miss. I suppose that is officially where I stop watching. I will probably watch the series finale as well, if they ever announce it, though it will most likely be based on nostalgia alone; seeing episodes from the early 90's get me really nostalgic.

So when did you stop watching the Simpsons? Anyhoo...

Oh, I guess the last time I watched anything that had to do with "The Simpsons", was when the Simpsons movie was released. I liked the movie, but when I tried to watch the Simpsons on television again, I just couldn't get back into it. I watched it a lot when I was younger, and it was a hit. But maybe those glory days are over.

Simpsons is on every night in Aus but they have the new episodes once a week i think so there is always an unlimited amount of laughter to enjoy,i don't care if i have already watched the episodes before they are always still funny the next time around.
I know what you mean about the new intro it is pathetic i like the old ones better. I just wish the would bring another season of Futurama out.

They have announced that they're making a new season of Futurama which is a great thing, but there is some bad news. They have drastically cut the budget for Futurama so there will be changes. The guys who have lend voices to the characters of Futurama are history. They' will hire some new cheap people to do the voices so the familiar voices of Bender, Leela, Fry and the others are basically gone.

Girl: Do i ever cross ur mind
    Boy: No
    Girl: Do you like me?
    Boy: Not really
    Girl: Do you want me?
    Boy: No
Girl: Would you cry if I left?
    Boy: No
Girl: Would you live for me?
    Boy: No
Girl: Would you do anything for me?
    Boy: No
    Girl: Choose--me or ur life
    Boy: my life
The girl runs away in shock and pain and the boy runs after her and says...
The reason you never cross my mind is because you're always on my mind.
The reason why I don't like you is because I love you.
The reason I don't want you is because I need you.
The reason I wouldn't cry if you left is because I would die if you left.
The reason I wouldn't live for you is because I would die for you.
The reason why I'm not willing to do anything for you is because I would do everything for you.
The reason I chose my life is because you ARE my life

I'll watch it every week. Or when I remember 'cause I don't watch TV a lot.
Of course older episodes are way better, but it's just so nostalgic. It's the first animation I can remember watching when I was a kid.

I can't remember the last time I watched something on the television, me being locked up in my room all the time. I have a television in my room, but it doesn't pick anything up very well. *shrug*

So last time I watched The Simpsons must have been close to a month ago. I can't even remember what it was about if I'm being honest. I loved that show when I was a kid, now I just watch for memories when I can.

It's all about spending evenings watching Family Guy now.
