Hey, sooooo is it ok if i join up? even though this has been going for quite a long time... anyway as for what one of the questions was way back when this thread started, my favorite sajin/halfy is Trunks hands down. as for non-sajin its kinda tie between bulma and yamcha...
oh and on usgay's note, i myself am female and love DBZ and Gundam Wing, and many other anime's. plus i love video games, mainly FF games and Tekken games. even though I love these things i am a mature person, and i believe that even though i have a "professional" side i think its ok that i do this stuff in my spare time. and as for age, i am a few year past the 8th grade mark, and yet i still have action figures and comic/video game/anime posters cluttering my room. in fact my purse even has a little deathscythe keychain on it. well anyway back to what this truly is about, i don't think DBZ will ever be over for me, let alone any of the other animes i watch and video games i play.
^_^;; heh, anyway as for my favorite form of buu? i have to say the imperfect version, i am not sure what its really called, but anyway its the version before he "eats" gohan and gotanks. he was still very childish, but yet at the same time its the first hits of "growing up" (well even though after eating gohan and gotanks he does still have childish moments, like the game of catch with vegeto...)

Well, Scorpian has returned from the dead, 121161 has made a triumphant comeback, and tealdragoon has returned to us. Welcome back all ^_^ It seems some of our older members are making some comebacks ^^

I don't think any of you really need any updating on the club status. I think you can all take a good guess as to the status of our RP (yeah, I bet you can guess >_<).

With our RP, though, I've been experimenting with some colors lately (though I was kind of mad when I couldn't find any hexadecimal charts to print out like my old one, so I had to keep switching windows). I think the whole DBZ color scheme of reds, oranges, and blues seems to be working best. I have some colors that manage to not hurt your eyes as much as the older, more basic color scheme. I'm really too lazy now to get the link for everyone, as that would entail me going into my e-mail, finding the link to the board's admin center, and then finding the board's URL within that. Anyone who wants to see the color scheme should just ask me on AIM, as I'm pretty sure I've talked to every club member here via AIM (perhaps Hobbes is one exception, but other than that, I think we all do). Also, most people here I talk to on a pretty much regular basis on AIM, but if you forgot my ScreenName, it's Brolly480.

Also, if possible, I may be looking for anyone who's interested to help out with putting the finishing touches on the board colors. I remember we had this going pretty successfully at one time (I think it was back in the Summer) where we had Spike, myself, and a few others working on those colors. If anyone's interested in helping out, just post here. I'm pretty sure I have my chat saved from AIM explaining how to do it, so if anyone is interested, let me know, and I'll fill you in on how to access, how to work the color changing, etc.

Also, this is relatively old news, but I just haven't been here for the last week to announce it >_<. Some more details about the Live Action DBZ movie have been released, among them are the fact that they're planning on doing it via a four separate movies (I think they said Saiyan and Namek, Frieza, Cell, and Buu were going to be the parts they were divided into). Also, they said George Lucas' special effects crew (I believe--something to do with him) is going to be working on the special effects. Actually, I'm thinking about starting a separate thread for discussing that movie, along with three other planned live-action anime movies. When I get around to doing that, I'll give everyone here the link so you can read the rest of the information on that.

So, I think we'll skip the discussion question again (yeah, I'm getting lazy--I don't have one prepared -_-') and let's just try to get some more details worked out with our RP. Like I said, post any ideas here, and if you want to help with the colors, feel free to ask here^^

Well, there's a few reasons why. Even though I'd love a VBulletin for our RP, it won't be happening as long as you have to pay for it; because as dedicated to this club as I am, I'm not willing to spend money on a board

Also, I'd love a hack for our RP (it would make things like experience a lot simpler, seeing as we wouldn't have to deal with our formulas and all^^) but the problem with what you suggested is that (if this is what you meant) that he couldn't add it to just a specific part of the forums here, because this isn't where the RP is going to be taking place, and I don't think he'd add a hack to another board (it would be nice if he did, though^^).

In other news, the official DragonBall Z site now has their promo trailer for Movie 8 up. It may not give you that good a glimpse into scenes from the movie, but it does a good job showing off Brolly's coolness , For anyone interested, all you have to do is go to DragonBall Z.com and there's an ad for the download on the front page.

Also, I'm thinking of buying the new Path to Power (DragonBall) feature that just came out; not only because it's DragonBall, but as I'm pretty sure it's the 10 year anniversary special, I'd really like to see it (those are the only DB/Z/GT movies I haven't seen--the DragonBall ones). If anyone has actually seen (or owns) it, let me know if it's worth buying ^_^

Other than that, I guess that's it (wow--short post for SSJ4 Goku today, no? ^^). Since we haven't had a discussion question in a while, why not go for one:

Who do you think is the most underrated character and why?

Jin, Im english also and I use ipowerweb.com, its pretty cheap, however they got some kinda prob that means I get user.myi errors every now and again sometimes resulting in data corruption and occasional thread/user loss but not that often.

I think the most under-rated character would have to be Goten, he became an SSJ so early and was more powerful than anyone had been at that age, then the creators just got bored of him it would seem and he was turned into a pretty wimpy character...

Hey people, whats up? Sorry that I haven't posted in a long time is that I wasn't in a happy mood in the past few weeks. Anyway, I solved all of my problems and I'm back. Also welcome to all who came back and the new members.

I don't know if it was posted before but Infogrames(now called Atari) will be releasing Budokai 2 with 11 added characters to the previous 23 in the first one. Officially the three forms of Buu(Fat Buu, Super Buu, Kid Buu) are confirmed. I expect Dabura, Kaioshin, Mystic Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Goku without Kaioken and having SSJ2 and SSJ3 instead, Vegita as Majin Vegita in his transformation. I still don't know what they'll do with the fusions but maybe they'll do what any other DBZ game do, being separate characters. There will also be another mode called Dragon Mode that consists in searching for the dragonballs in some places; and not waiting until they randomly appear in Mr. Popo's shop(THANK YOU).

Also Legacy of Goku II and another DBZ game(a fighter) will be coming to the GBA.

Also for the ones who didn't knew, Path to Power is like a summary of the first saga of Dragonball. It was done to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Dragonball in Japan in 1994. It was done by Toei Animation so you'll see that the animations resemble a LOT to DBGT. I'll buy it some time next week(money is getting harder and harder to get)

Before I start, I'd just like to mention (though I usually don't do thing like this, I think I have the right to since it's taken me so long to accomplish)--woo! 1,000 posts for me! ^_^

And look at that, we have yet another member returning--welcome back FFSaiya-Jin ^^

Anyway, since my last post, I actually saw Path to Power in the store, (but didn't buy it yet >_< I wanted to get the two Evangelion Movies first so I could finish that off) and I can say, yes, it is the 10th anniversary special. Usagy, as FFSaiya-Jin mentioned, it's basically a re-telling of the first few DragonBall Sagas smashed into movie form (and given a significant "face lift." As DragonBall was originally animated in the 80's, the movie was made in 1996 by Toei, so not only is the animation "more realistic" (with regards to shading and all) but its animation bares a striking resemblance to GT. (And in case you're wondering, it spans from Bulma running into Goku for the first time until the defeat of the Red Ribbon Army, I believe, just with some things left out). Like I said, I really want to buy this, as I haven't seen any of the 4 DragonBall movies that were made. Once my monetary situation becomes more favorable, I'll eventually get it

Before I get into other stuff, I might as well answer my own discussion question (as I know that I'll probably forget if I don't do it now -_-). As for the most underrated character, I was originally going to say Tien, but I think I'm going to change my vote to Krillin. I mean, true, he may get more screen time than Tien, but for being the strongest human, he really has a lot going for him. I don't think he was ever really used to his full potential in a lot of parts of the series. One thing I definitely enjoy is seeing him fight; seeing his match against Goku in DragonBall (during the second Tenkaichi Budokai shown in the series--I'm no good with numbers, so I don't remember which one it was >_<) was really enjoyable as was a particular scene in GT which I'll refrain from mentioning (I don't want to ruin it, as I realized I never did put up episode summaries for the ending of the series >_<). Personally, I think he had a lot of potential which just wasn't always recognized in the show ^^

Anyway, in other news, in the latest GamePro magazine, they announced officially that there will be a Budokai 2 for the PS2, and it's slated for release (presumably in Japan, but I don't remember) this winter. Also, it should be noted that unlike the somewhat "blocky" (in my opinion) graphics of the first one, Budokai 2 will be done with cell shading, and it looks quite marvelous if I don't say so myself. Also, despite not having a PS2, I'm still content, however, as they've also announced that Budokai (the first one) will be coming out for GameCube this summer, so I'll be able to get that ^^

Hmm...what else...oh, yes, Usagy's question. The reason you're confused with why Goku was turned into a kid actually doesn't involve an incident at the end of DBZ (well, not directly, anyway). I guess Holland is airing the same butchered GT that the US will be airing eventually where they start at episode 17. In the (real) first episode, Emperor Pilaf gets a hold of the DarkStar DragonBalls, and is getting ready to make a whish (he gets to the point where he has Shenron already summoned) when he's interrupted once again by Goku. After getting angry with him, he makes a comment like "I wish you were a kid again, that way I could beat you easily." Well, Shenron heard that comment, and granted it as Pilaf's wish, thus creating the need to go out and get the DarkStar DragonBalls, which scattered all over the universe (and will blow up the Earth if they're not all found within a year)

Hope that helped--I know it's been a long time since I actually did those episode summaries. I should really go back and look through my old posts here to find them and post them again (they got deleted here when the clubs got pruned)...the only problem is that I have almost 130 pages worth the posts saved (126 to be exact), so it might take me some time to find them (that, and I'm pretty lazy). If anyone really wants me to, I could probably find them...hopefully ^^

I wish a more apt company (is apt the word I'm looking for, here?) would get the rights to DB and all its different versions. FUNi deserves a kick in the balls, and not the dragon balls, either. Of course, they DID do away with the "Next Dimension" bs, so they're good for that, at least. Anyways...

I dunno, but DBGT reminds me of the art from Chrono Trigger more than DBZ did. Were those made around the same time? It would've been cool, I think, if Akira Toriyama(sp) had made a Chrono Trigger cartoon series, or something. The opening to the game kicks ass. The PS version, that is. Why didn't they get him to do character designs for Chrono Cross, too? Oh well. The designs for that game were good, too, I guess. Although if he'd done the designs, that'd been even MORE excuse for people to beg him to make it a manga series and eventually a cartoon. Although he doesn't really have the power to do that himself, but what if....?

Most underrated character... I dunno. Tien WAS really kick ass. He held his own against Cell for a time, blasting him back into the hole again a thousand times. Who is stronger, btw? Krillin or Tien? Is Tien a human? Probably not, seeing as he has 3 eyes. Then what is he? Heh. I dunno. Anyways...

I always thought there was something odd about the Earth that exists in Dragon Ball. I mean, its all f-ed up, man! What's up with those huge jutting things that stick out of the ground? And dinosaurs and talking animal thingies? Oh well. I like it. My friends don't, however. At least one doesn't. He has a problem with "cute" characters. I don't. I have a fetish for them, however. Anyways...

Anyway, as for the deal with Tien (Telegraph) I think it's just another one of those things they don't bother explaining. Sure, he looks human, but when's the last time you've seen someone walking around with a third eye^^. Then again, you never know, if there's a world where you're advanced enough to have a house condensed into a capsule, yet still have dinosaurs and talking beast things, anything's possible in the DragonBall universe ^_^

In other news, I agree with you, FFSaiya-Jin. Even though filming has been pushed back to next Summer, a trailer couldn't hurt; especially to show the people that they're at least getting something done^^ The second a trailer's released, you can bet I'll be posting a link here ^_^

Speaking of keeping everyone up to news, yes, Spike will hopefully fill us in on the quality of the GT dub once he watches his DVD. Also, (this is directed to Telegraph again...bah...Tom was so much easier for me to type ) as for FUNi leaving out the part about Goku turning into a kid, I've heard varying opinions from people as to the success at which they pull that off. Some people say they summarize the beginning rather well so you're all caught up, others say that there was no where near enough detail. Again, if Spike ever watches it, we'll have another opinion

Anyway, I'm feeling a little lazy at the moment, and don't have a new discussion question for us all. Anyone who feels inclined to do so, post a new one. Anyways, I created from scratch power levels for DBZ. I based on the fact that Akira Toriyama stated that SSJ Gokuh while fighting Freezer has a power level of 15,000,000 instead of the 1,500,000 that SO many sites posts. After that I saw, analized every fight, reanalized it again, heard everything that they said, analized the training and their efforts in battle and did an estimate on what the power levels would be if there were scouters till the end. Well, a new member wants to join? Excellent, perhaps it will help to boost our club's activeness, so yes, welcome to the club, Animaniac. Also, just because I say it as a custom, we're "currently" planning and RP (by currently, I mean for the past two years >_<) and let us know if you want to sign up for when we actually do get it started. I'll have to travel back a ways to find the roster...I'll post it next time if you're interested.

Also, I was going to mention that the latest issue of Anime Invasion actually had a nice article in it showcasing a more-accurate-than-usual (at least in my opinion for the sole reason of it being more realistic number-wise than most online charts) Power Level rating for the characters from the beginning of DragonBall through the end of Z. However, I no longer have to recommend that everyone read it, because good ol' FFSaiya-Jin has provided us with an excellent, thorough, and comprehensive one for our own benefit, so I'll take the time to say thanks, FFSaiya-Jin (wouldn't want your hard work to go unnoticed)

Also, I just read something interesting on the official DBZ website. Apparently, FUNi and Yu Yu Hakusho will be hosting this year's X Games for the ESPN network this Sunday (June 22). Interestingly enough, they say: "Be sure to stop by and experience the cultural force of the X Games and the entertainment force of Yu Yu Hakusho." I wonder if they'll have anything FUNi or Yu Yu related at the games. If I remember to watch it...no word on start time, but I'd assume they're going to air it live--if that's the case, it will either start at 12:15 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. (depending on whether or not they show the warm-ups or not).

In other news, I actually forgot the idea I had in mind for our next discussion topic (when I posted last week I said I'd hold it off and let someone else come up with one). Now that I've forgotten it, I must come up with a new one (*sigh* I guess that should teach me to say things as soon as I think of them, or at least write them down -_-')

I have a good idea as to what half the responses are going to be with regards to the "why" part (for example, I don't think Scorpian admires Bulma for her scientific genius ). If you actually have a legitimate reason for liking one of them, it wouldn't hurt to post that reason, too ^^
