The issue with using your real hair is, you have to have nice hair. I've seen people with stringy, greasy and/or lack of hair and it just doesn't look very good. And same thing with color ... a lot of people decide they can just use spray-on color and it also looks really bad. You just have to be really meticulous ... people who don't are usually the people you see that are "crappy". Or maybe just have low budget. Or no time. Eh. I'd say just go with whatever option you think is best. For this costume, given the legnth of the hair, going with your regular hair should be fine as long as the cut is close and you dye it the right color. I mostly go with needing wigs if the hair is long or differently colored than mine ... people with long hair regularly, I've noticed, tend to have it look stringy or sparse ...

For wigs ... even though some are very insanely colored (like a bright pink, for instance), with the right items and quality wig, they can look very realistic. And cosplays tend to look really better with a wig. (Example: with wig and without wig.) I generally read about it (since I don't have very much experience with them yet), but spirit gum is used to get rid of the wig line for those with no bangs. (Example: Utena with wig line and Utena with no wig line.) I think the best wig fiber is kanekalon ... supposedly, my wig for Soi Fong was that, since the seller only sold that type when they were in business. I've had friends mistake it for my real hair.

On the topic of wigs, I just got another one recently (see attachment). One guess on who it's for Also, sorry if this post is really confusing. I've been jumping all over the place as I type this and I'm semi distracted.
