episode of this series! and it was pretty
ok! Is it based around Buhddism...? Because of the
idea of avatars, reincarnation, monks, & the
belief of Yin & Yang.
The fighting IS pretty interesting. I was watching the
fight between the water benders. Good moves, its just
that the animation is KIND OF slow, and not so smooth.
But I would definitely watch it again if I knew when.
(I didn't/couldn't check out the clips btw)

Honestly I'm not to big a fan of the show. But yes I've seen a few episodes. They run it on a British Nick channel I have called Nicktoons, but not Nicklodeon, mind you I'm in America. I can see where the show would entertain, but it's a bit kiddy for me, ah well though hehe to each his own.
So there is this show on Nickelodeon (that should be on Toonami, mind you) called Avatar: The Last Airbender. Whenever mentioned, my friends bashed it because of its stupidity.
Expecting to be crap, I watched it and I hated the humor and the voices.
It was too childish for my tastes....
Then, one day I was enjoying an episode of Naruto and suddenly realized, "This show is just as stupid."
Then I found out Avatar would be on every weekday at 6:30. Should I give it a chance?

If you want to base a show on stupidity, then FLCL/Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi are the stupidest shows of them all. Yet they're so freaking awesome and easily on the top best Anime out there.
And yes, I agree with you that Avatar should be on Toonami, because it was originally an anime. (It has manga, too.)
Though.. I have yet to see this show.
I do quite enjoy avatar. Not as much as other animes (I don't follow it). But, sure. Give it a chance

don't get lulled in by "stupidy" its an alright show, but I'll ament there is better out there. your frined probaly laugh at you becuase of who its made by and that makes them think its a kiddy show. if I listen to all my friends I would atch my fav anime, Inuyasha. to say it simply, if you think the show is worth ckecking out, then go for it. it won't kill you to give it a try

Avatar is alright, though I've only watched a handful of episodes. The show is getting pretty popular now. Anyway, yeah, it's not too bad. Check it out, you might like it (at least a little bit).

I watched it and I liked it. There are a lot of episodes that are fairly silly, but it is definently better than say... Yi-Gi-Oh. I remember an episode where a celebration not celebrating the Avatar... and how the other two spend the whole three days trying to prove that a former Avatar didn't kill a certain ruler.... I liked the ending particularly.
It is definently worth a watch... and at least it has a better storyline than many almost 'B-movie' quality animes that have been ported here.

This is one of three shows I watch on tv. It's childish at first but since the second season started it's serious and turns into a decent show not meant for kids.
At one point, a few episodes back, I started to think Nick might cancel the show because of what was happening then. Kind of like why 4kids canceled MMP, it got a little beyond the line of what they felt kids should be influenced by.
Since you're older though, this won't bother you, so go ahead and watch it. Don't start off on new episodes now though. They are at a very climactic point and it would ruin the show for you.

At first I didn't like the show, but after a while I started to like it and now the show is getting good. You should definitely give it a shot.
Also, I didn't know the avatar had a manga or that it was anime.

It's a great show, but it can be lame at times. I, actually, was surprised Nickolodean made something that awesome.

Avatar is freakin awesome and so are the other jap. animes i've seen. You should give it a chance. And if your gonna base something by how stupid it is then you will think that about a lot of shows, which in fact is stupid to do.

Avatar freakin' rocks dude! I love Zuko! Some people say he may look ugly with the scar but not me! The scar works with him, he looks sexier with the scar. The scar is just part of what makes him sexy.
I like Avatar alot, it seems to always make me laugh, and the characters are easy to relate to, because they act like actual people, rather than the DBZ like usual attitude of people that have power.

I started it from Episode 1 and I don't mind it that much. It's a fairly decent show, actually and sometimes the jokes are funny.
I never got to Season 2, but I plan to.
The Avatar is so bad ass.
I liek the way how all the bender fight diffrent.
The Fire Bender do like a break dance when they fire bend.
The water benders use water like a whip to fight.
The Earth Benders fighting style I really can't describe but the way the rase the arth and throw giant bolders at peopel is frikin awesome.
The Air Benders are pretty bad ass also. Sucked that there all dead. They can fly and run really fast and do all sorts of techniques with the air.
The fighting is like one of the best i've seen.

I would give it a chance. The show is pretty good. It's not all funny. It's actually one of the better shows I've seen. I don't watch Nick that much...But that's one of the shows I watch. I say you give it a chance, you might like it. You just need to know the background of all the stuff that has happened before you just start watching it.
