There will be Brutal and Shocking Scenes in Final Fantasy XV

After the livestream of the demo, the director Tabata had an interview where he talked a little more about the game. A couple new tidbits came from his interview. One of the details mentioned that the demo's size will be 5 gigs. The other interesting piece of information, he stated that there were being some brutal scenes and moments that will shock the player. After what has been seen on Type-0 this part may not come as too much of a surprise.

I feel like that's just a tactic to garner more interest in the game and will probably serve as a letdown. Shock and brutality have bars set so high in gaming now that announcing it almost takes away from it.

On the bright side, I've always been hoping for a more mature final fantasy game. It would do a lot for the series to be able to take on story ideas with a more adult approach. I just don't like the idea that they're already telling you it'll have shocking moments; I'd like to be shocked for myself without hyping myself up for every possible twist

Then it may interest you that Final Fantasy Type-0 has been rated M, which as far as I know, the first time a FF game has been given a mature rating. Despite being teenagers, the story is supposed to be more adult than any of the other FF games. And this is the same director.

I prefer the adult direction, although I miss the fantasy aspect... it seems to be lost in more mature focused stories. FF8 did it the best at bridging the gap.

Yeah, I'm hoping that Final Fantasy XVI will be full fantasy like FFIX was and I guess like FFXI.
