This usual part of my Christmas writing, AESIR was also delayed in posting. Episode 7 is available now though and like with Twin Moon it got delayed due to being sick and working on my novel during Christmas. The ironic thing is that I wrote it all on Thanksgiving to get it out of the way for my novel. But I had no time for reviewing since it took until the end of January to actually finish the novel. And then I got busy with work and projects that I couldn't set the hours aside I needed for this. AESIR is a lot of time to write and review, so I have to usually a lot time for it. That finally happened last month and I was ready to post it, but things came up. So this is far more delayed than I ever wanted it to be.

The focus of the episode was on the fallout of the crew of the Niph being killed. Edgar learns this out in this episode and how it affects plays out through the episode. This is the critical turning point for his character at this point. He's got other moments, but this is first big turning point. The change he makes from being apathetic to the whole situation due to self imposed guilt to having drive and purpose. He finally gets over his disillusionment with happened over Shizuka and gets some purpose. This happened to Shizuka earlier and he never understood it. Now, he understands and finds his own thing to fight for. They're all fighting for different reasons, but they will still produce the results needed.

Edgar's change was needed for his character start moving forward and the growth that you'll see out of him. Shizuka is the main character for the story, but Edgar ends up in many ways being the heart of the story. He's got a lot of pre-existing issues that make him up and that will need to be broken down and rebuilt. He's going to come out a very different person and has one of the most interesting character arcs for the story. As each episode moves forward from here you should see some very interesting differences in him. Some of the changes will be more subtle and dragged out over episodes to show the effort he is putting in to being serious for once.

Focusing on the Terra Team with Cal is the half of the story and where things really get to show off the mecha side to this sometimes mecha-less story at times. Soon it will be impossible to go episodes without mecha being in every moment as war is on the horizon. But now it is still slowly paced and carefully measured out. So this moments end up being bigger in ways because they show off the half of the world I'm constructing. Even though it is a battle it is also a world building and character building moment. I try to keep putting in the little details to flesh things out. But real mecha fights will be coming back again.

Enjoy!
