The song I despise most is an old one: Neil Sedaka - Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen.

It is an awful song and the lyrics are creepy as... *shudders*

I only came to know about it because my ex-partner (the one I lived with for nearly 3 years) used to listen to Oldies radio (Gold, formerly Capital Gold), and it came on pretty much all the time. Awful, awful, awful! >_<

One of my friends commented as well how pervy the lyrics were, even for the Sixties.

Country music being chief among them.

Her background music is generic bleeps and boops, And her "singing" sounds like she's in the middle of barfing up a 3 course meal.

This isn't the 90s. I don't listen to the radio, so I don't hear a lot of music that I hate. Radio, as I found out ages ago, is for people who don't care sufficiently about music. It's just a game to them. They just want something making noise. Even radio stations that I did like would eventually play a Nickelback song or etc...

It's the best option, yes. But it's still an endless stream of someone else's favorite music. And no matter how well you agree with that person, it is their music playlist, not yours.

I guess I should add a more serious answer.
Today's hiphop is absolute garbage, hardly anyone worth noting, usually the bigger the name the worse they are. Turning into a local radio station 92.5 FM I literally can't make it through one song. Kendrick Lamar is just about the only big name rapper I will listen too and that only some of his music.
Most of the hiphop/rap I enjoy is underground. MachineGunKelly, Logic, Kendrick Lamar (only recently has he gotten big) and older artists like Nas, Eminem, Dre, etc.

I don't mind pop, but its usually not something I will download. Its catchy, lyrics are usually shit, but I can still dig it. Like Kesha above, its catchy as hell and thats fine by me.

I hate Brostep, things like Skrillex, Excision, CookieMonster. That genre of dubstep just infuriates me, its just like listening to a child play the piano. A bunch of random notes that don't really make sense after a very short while it becomes annoying. I prefer more the chill side of dubstep with Liquid dnb/dubstep, chillstep, stuff like Archetek, Blackmill, Grifta, Flashbulb.

Country is something that I've never had any interest in, its not that its terrible by any mean. They have some pretty meaningful songs and some good stuff, I just don't like it. But when shit like Red Solo Cups comes on I either kill the person listening to it or myself. Seriously that song is terrible.

I actually do like a lot of the post hardcore genre, but the bands unfolding in the past 10 years there has been little to nothing good. We started out with things like From Autumn to Ashes, Devil Wears Prada, As I lay Dying. Now every band I see coming out sounds just like the last band I heard was getting big. Attack Attack kind of broke the scene with electronics in their music. Now Asking Alexandria uses them, Abandon the Ship (I think thats their name), and this band and that band. Its like no one can be original.

A lot of mainstream music isn't really that good.

Music is a science. It works a certain way, based on "laws of theory" that people have set up to aid musicians in making great sounds.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a music scientist in order to make great music. Unfortunately, you don't have to know very much about music
in order to get famous in the business today. Britney Spears can't really sing, but she's one of the wealthiest and well known singers in
the world. If you're incredibly attractive under a crap load of makeup, and maybe some plastic surgery, or if you have the right connections,
or if some guy in a suit believes he can sell your image to the world, you can become a famous musician, even if you put out crap.


All that being said, I won't list Britney, or any really modern music. I'm going to list Deph Leppard's "Photograph" as my hated song.

Another problem with the music industry is the incessant need for agents and recording labels to sign copycat artists to contracts.
The most popular types of music/bands that get the largest following at the moment, will undoubtedly spawn the most copycat artists.
I can't help but see this as a kind of fraudulence. this phenomenon isn't concerned with what is best for the music industry as the majority
of artists are not introduced to the public based on their talent, but are instead introduced based on someone elses talent. The above mentioned
Britney Spears spawned a crap load of copycats. Although it was more her image that was copied and not her talent. Nirvana spawned a crap load
of copycats. The same thing with Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles, and countless other really talented musical acts.

So there are countless songs that I hate, but I'll just go with Deph Leppard's "Photograph" for now. It actually isn't that bad, from what I recall. And
after all that crap I said above, I'm uncertain as to whether or not any of it applies to Deph Leppard. I just never liked that song <.<

Most hip hop that comes on the radio nowadays irritates me.

I do love that "Whistle" song by Flo Rida though.

I hate Lil Wayne and all but a couple of Nicki Minaj's songs. And that stupid song by Rick Ross "Larry Hoover" or whatever.

I'm not a huge fan of Eminem.. He's just an angry dude in general. I thought Yelawolf would be just another white trash rapper like Kid Rock or something, but his stuff is actually pretty dope. Some of it might be a bit hard to swallow (like "Billy Crystal"), but it's good.

There's this song that always played on the radio, and it's the reason I refuse to turn on the radio at all anymore. Somebody that I Used to Know by Gotye. I don't mind popular music if it's good, but the fact that shit like this are popular for no apparent reason, even without musical talent, is beyond me. I get pissed off to the point where I wanted to smash my radio whenever this song came on the air. And it doesn't help that it was overplayed, so I kept hearing it over and over again.

If there is a hell, then in hell, you will be locked in a room, and forced to listen to this piece of shit song over and over again for the rest of eternity. The song is so bad that I have had nightmares about it. I would rather projectile vomit than listen to it again.

I don't hear Gotye's song as often anymore and I only really hear it on like one or two radios and it's usually the even more worst dance version.

There was summat that usher bloke did with a couple other people, dont care to find out its name as it'll get stuck inmy head,but there were lots of lasery things in the video. And one guy says 'Ursher' in one of the lines and it really really annoys me

I hate everything by Nickelback. Dude sounds constipated. I also hate Black & Yellow by Wiz Khalifa.

I hate Taylor Swift. Ok, I like ONE of her songs, but the rest I HATE. I listen to the radio at work when I have someone else working with me. Anytime a Taylor Swift song comes on, I turn the volume down haha. When I'm working alone I have the pleasure of hooking my music player to my radio. Or we are allowed to listen to our own music as long as we only have one ear phone in. Pretty lucky.

I don't mind the radio, but I'll only listen to one station and that's usually for the breakfast radio, then I listen to my own.

Radio SUCKS. They play (in most cases) the same gosh darn songs EVERYDAY. The 2 main radio stations here play the same songs it would seem every hour. It's incredibly irritating. Then I think, "hey I listen to the same music everyday, am I a hypocrite?" Haha answer would be yes, but it is music I love, soooo it's ok

I love most music and can find the joy in almost anything. But yeah... That Taylor Swift needs to stop.
